1=2 House by Céleste Brocas and Raphaël Cornac-Reilles, Spatial Design

Located in Ivry in the south-West of Paris, our project takes place in the context of the revitalisation of an industrial district. We are exploring a new way of living, collectively buying a plot to build individual housing and common spaces, the goal being to solve issues such as density and urban sprawl, to encourage social ties and intergenerational living in the cities.
Through the conception of one of those houses we paid our attention to sustainable construction, soil permeability and durability of usage.
Our goal was to design a building that evolves and would remain efficient according to the family evolution. While the children will grow up and surely leave home, the parents will age and still want to keep a social link. So we thought a part of the project could become independent and welcome either one of the grown up children wanting to get closer to his parents, a student or another senior citizen.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
