    I just rescued 4 lizards from horrible abuse including a uromastyx. I’m scrambling to learn about them now. Thanks for the information!

    This video is fire. You answered 2 of my main questions I had this winter so far. My guys pores (which I bugged you about on instagram sorry didnt know you had you tube) and he has been circling on his food !! I thought maybe he was using the moisture to assist pee or poop. But the little turd is marking it? And eating it? Gross lololol. Should I put a small stuffed animal in there to assist in his horneyness? Is that a word? Lol. Ugh. Gunna watch all these videos now. You rock!

    👍👍Do you have any orange flavifasciata? I have a cb two year old male that originally came from sqaumata concepts I got him as a yearling from a guy who had him since a baby from squamata, he is very different looking then the bion line, I hope to one day get a female.

    Hey you said your ornates at the start were a year old. Mine just turned about a year but he/she seems a little smaller than yours. It seems to eat good when it’s not brumating. It also doesn’t look nearly as color ful as either of yours. It pretty much only has blue on its neck so fsr. Is this normal or were yours in the beginning more than a year old?

    How much of this applies to aegyptia? I know the color thing probably doesnt work. I have time my baby is only like 4 months old lol

    Very informative! I’ve had a mature male ornate for yrs now. We found a female (they said it was female) a couple years ago to couple with him. She’s always been fuller colored and smaller. She’s close to maturity now but after seeing this video I’m 2nd guessing the sex. It does have the bulges, and I’ve seen it do the circling on the basking spot from time to time! I think I’ve got 2 males now 😮 they’re caged separately but the whole point we invested in her was the eventual pairing cause we love our big guy so much. Is there still chance she’s female? She is duller in color and has that vibe. Could potentially trade it for a female sometime but would be sad to give “her up”.

    So many of the characteristics of Uros remind me of the red headed agamas. Several behaviors. They can even look similar.

    farm raised vs captive bred? Farm raised from their native country. Hatchlings but that were born in their native environment on a farm outdoors.. Is this wild caught? Is this captive bred. Where does it lie?

    • @aridsonly
      @aridsonly  3 роки тому

      Farm bred is a myth in uromastyx. I’ve never seen any evidence of these so called farms. They are just another way of masking wild caught animals.

      @@aridsonly Thanks bro, Also I am in Canada. Is there anyway USA ships to Canada? I need to find Uro Babies. Specifically Ornates. It's near impossible. I have only come across captive bred Egyptians which are a bit too big for my liking, plus I have kids around and a bite from them would be quite nasty I'm sure. Not worried about myself as I handle everything with care but with kids I need something I know won't send them to the hospital. I've been looking for Ornates for the past 6 months and can only come across Adults that are wild caught. I have seen a few Saharans but they are all between 8 months and 1.5 years which make me believe they are also wild caught. The only babies I have come across are Egyptians.
      Thanks for replying man
