- RMIT digital media and visual communication senior lecturer Dr TJ Thomson reveals the “tell-tale signs of photoshop” over Princess Catherine’s latest family photo.
Kensington Palace on Sunday released the first official photo of the Princess of Wales since her abdominal surgery in January.
However major news agencies hours later pulled down the photo of the Princess of Wales, and her three children over concerns the image had been “manipulated”.
“I definitely think photoshop has been done to the image,” Mr Thomson told Sky News Australia.
“The pattern on Louis's sweatshirt, you can see and part of the hair on Princess Kate is quite unnaturally blurred.
“So, there's a lot of telltale signs just to the naked eye that Photoshop or equivalent has been done to this image.”
Why doesn't SKY NEWS show some decency and common sense .The Princess of Wales is scheduled to resume her duties at Easter .These types of surgeries do take to heal for heavens Patience Sky News .

Look at the pattern on the sweater. It looks like two images have been merged together, but misaligned by quite a bit.

I think it’s sad that they felt they had to release a picture to keep people happy. It is truly no one’s business what Princess Catherine went through medically, people need to understand that this is personal & those who need to know do. The family have young children so they would have been told in terms they would understand but if it was disclosed what was wrong then anyone at their schools could have said something that could have hurt them greatly. I am happy that Catherine is on the road to recovery & hopefully she will be back to full strength shortly. ❤

Obviously those who are reporting the discrepancies in the photos…have not taken into account what the children may read, think or feel with this rubbish of everyone criticising and critiquing the photo ….and they probably do not understand why William and Kate decided to take their own photos of their family after William was stalked constantly by paparazzi shoving cameras in his face while growing up…it is probably several frames of the same photo put together to get that one good photo …because the Royals do have professional photographers..it’s just William and Kate prefer their s..on their own social media site.

As a family portrait photographer, I would suggest that it was hard to get all the kids to smile and laugh at exactly the same time. so they have just simply combined a couple of different photographs so that they’re all smiling nicely in the same way at the same time…

Yesterday before all this drama I said to my other half who is a massive royal fan that the person in the photo looked like Kate but I didn’t think it it was her. Fast forward 24 hours to this morning then all this drama over it which has only heightened my belief that that is not Kate but a double !!

I think the tile was badly laid
I thought there was a defect in the tiles too. But also the photos could have been stitched together or blended or whatever for the best expressions from a series of photos. I find it funny that people are commenting on it and calling it Photoshop when it might not have involved Photoshop at all. That's not fair to Adobe when this might have been edited or retouched on an Iphone. Lots of lay people refer to any editing as Photoshop though. (I'm a professional photographer). People also call retouching editing. They'll say they don't want their photos edited and they have no idea what that really means. Editing is done to all photos and retouching is done to clothing, hair and skin and anything distracting in a portrait. All of this talk about this is to discredit Kate and William and make them appear to be dishonest. They are good people and these attacks are disgusting.
Used to subscribe to Skynews Aus, not any more. I think it's a beautiful photo whether enhanced or not. Doesn't anyone on Skynews enhance photos they take?? Charlotte's hair is partially covering Catherine's ring finger probably covering her ring.

First of all... sack the retoucher!! Having 30 years experience as a professional retoucher myself.... this work was so shoddy. Who checked it? They probably just sent out a stock family photo that was a composite image. Its nothing new. She probably isn't camera ready! MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MOLEHILL!
Catherine admitted to editing the photo. She's an amateur photographer and amateur retoucher and they've blown this into conspiracy theories. It's ridiculous.
With A.I. able to manipulate photos quite well, but it's not perfect, generated imagery can have errors such as, mistaking fingers from the fisherman who caught a carp & is holding it to pose with the camera, A.I mistaking human fingers as part of the fish. I find this A.I. photo thing too synthetic & I wouldn't call it photography it it was shot from a smartphone which has photo A.I. technology built into it.
I heard rumours that Pippa, Kates sister, stood in for her in the photo & Kates face was super imposed over hers. Everything from the shoulders right down to her feet is Pippa.
