  • Today we're checking out the Hiboy ECOM 14, a utility scooter offering both seated and standing riding modes (although seated is definitely the primary focus). Unlike most scooters it actually has a rear rack and basket for carrying cargo! The 450 watt hub motor has decent torque for hill climbing and can get you up to a top speed of 22 mph (35 km/h), but it's also very loud which isn't pleasant to listen to on long rides. It's highly adjustable and should fit a wide range of riders, plus it folds down for storage. It's not very portable; even in the folded position it's still difficult to carry, mostly because it weighs 57 pounds (26 kg). This scoot is definitely designed for city streets and would struggle on rough terrain due to the lack of suspension and very low deck clearance.

Finally-someone who has compared it to the speed of a rental scooter. This is something I want to know since I currently rent scooters. Also liked that you put a backpack in the backpack.

I can confirm that this scooter will carry every bit of 220 .lbs with no problems. I still go 22 mph fully loaded. Not the nicest scooter I've been on but for the price it's great!

Me and my husband each have one. We love them. Take them to work and back on nice days save on gas.

Fantastic review! Thank you for sharing! I subbed!
I just bought this scooter. It was delivered yesterday. I haven't even ridden it yet. Waiting for the rain to stop. LOL
Any tips for front cable management? I totally agree with you, there is a lot of cable there! LOL

Thanks for the sub! As for the cables... maybe some velcro straps to fasten them to the stem 🤷

Can someone here please help me with my Hiboy ecom 14 problem? I received my scooter on dec 28, 2023. I assembled it without difficulty - seat, basket, front tire, handlebars. Same, same the charger and battery. My problem is that I can not tighten the metal ring that goes around the telescopic rod (the rod that fits inside the t-tube). This rod jiggles inside the t-tube. And because I can not tighten it, I can not steer the machine. I can not get the rod tight enough to rotate the front tire. I have called Hi-boy in Arizona (who never return my calls), Amazon, a couple of repair shops, a couple of people who have posted videos about this scooter on youtube like EASYHEIMER and all of my efforts have been pointless. There is a metal ring with a folding lock and a screw through the point where the two halves of the ring meet. This ring goes around the telescopic rod. But I can not close the folding lock unless the screw is very loose. And if I click the folding lock closed and try to turn the screw to tighten it, I can't because the metal ring won't allow this. I am ready to tear my hair out.
