Nice Buddy! Love seeing all your projects come together.
Thank you
Looks good did a good job filming
Thank you
Nice work.
Personally I'd like to see more details on sealing the window and how thats best achieved
Me too
Thanks for the video. I like how you joined the metal angles but I don't get why did you go with the angle flange facing the outer side of the container wall instead of facing the interior. The way you installed it, unless you completely seal the top piece tends to direct water inside the container no? The other way it directs the water outside.
I have the same question. Wouldn’t it it be more water tight to install angle iron facing outwards?
I love how you did this video, nicely done on the iron getting it welded. question for you, what kind of welder are you using? Marking out the inside for the window I would of used blue tape so I can see my lines easier. Thank you
Very nice design and instructions. Flashing is correct and using the outer bend of the wall along with the angle iron leaves very little metal for thermal bridging if you install insulation later on.
Nice work! Plasma cutter would make it a lot easier.
Thank you. Yes a plasma cutter would be nice
What about weather proofing the top
Very nice tutorial. Out of curiosity, I've noticed that your container is no spring chicken. Shouldn't you take any steps to protect it from corrosion, such as sanding and painting it, once you've put in your metal frame for the window?
When I use chain to pull on I put a heavy blanket over it. When it snaps it is not good.
Good call on angle iron. Tubing can rust on the inside.
I wish you showed us how you installed the window in the frame and how you sealed it against rain and elements.
It installs just like a normal window. Except you just use screws made for metal and pre-drill the holes. And use some caulking I just use 100% silicone.
you better put a water proof seal in or the leaks will happen on the first rain..
How do you weld the sides of the window frame? Uphill or downhill? What settings do you use?
What kind of screws did you use to attach window to go thru angle iron???
I pre-drilled the holes to size and then I used a metal tapping screw
Ups, that cut wasnt good !
