I have stored nuts in mason jars with oxygen absorbers. Eight years later, they are all just fine. Just opened some nuts that were left unopened in their original packaging. Horribly rancid. From now on, any nuts that will not be eaten right away go in the jars with oxygen absorbers. If younwant to use for barter the half pint size is great.
Agreed. I'm partial to dried fruit and nuts myself. And peanut butter, always peanut butter lol

Expiration dates are always important proper storage is a great help to preparing
