Love the shop work, thanks for the video
You didn't sliver it close, did you? Could it ever propagate any further - with or w/o a cleat?
how do you become a specialist and if its through apprenticeship would you a a specialist take anyone between the ages of 16-18
No clamping?
It always seems to be a Martin thats needing repairs
its easier taking the mask off for the time being. nice vid as always.
there must be a better way to prevent crack on the outline of the pickguard. do not use it and replace with a PVC sticker which may cause the finish worn out but easier to paint back.
Martin used to finish over the pick guard and glue it to bare wood. Also the faux tortoise material used was very suspect to excess shrinkage.
This is NOT a "Repairing" Video! This is only a explaining Video and it is not very interesting to hear how you do it.
I find your mask-wearing and public safety message condescending. I came here to learn about guitar repair--not to be lectured.
MAGA alert
At first I though he was playing 'the masked cowboy' or so, but after 1 minute ... well, I wrote this. How can you be so stupid, being a good craftsman, making a video this way! And appearantly this is not his only 'masked' video. I even can't stand to look at this stupidity anymore so unsuscribed.
Couldn't watch this because of you wearing a mask.
