Happy to see that you are still infected with the 3d printing virus, Jordan is a good addition to the family. Also, that was one of the smoothest channel subscription plugs I have ever witnessed.. Fantastic job mustache man.
Hello , I met someone with a leg prosthesis. I remembered you great video and I suggested to do the same....the person was really happy of the offer ......let's see where this will go .... :-) I really love all your video !!
@@integza hi , what was the thickness of the wall you used ? I use 3 mm...I am wondering about swithching to 5mm. The prototype leg is printing right now in PLA to check the fit.... I hope the mechanical strength is ok..I Plan to print the final model in PETG. Did you us PLA or PETG ? Thanks for your inspirational video. I had to pump up my modeling skills a lot ;-)
@@christophelauga6668 Hi Christophe! I used 1.2 mm PLA because the cover has an inner part and 2 outer parts the final thickness is 2.4 mm . The fact that the cover is built in 2 shells increases the flexibility and ductility of the cover. Don't go too thick or the cover will be very heavy.
You are a good dude. That was very kind of you. Buying new equipment to help someone is generous. The cover came out well. I recently made a new friend who I play role playing games with similar to D&D. He has a 3D printer and he made me a 6 Braille D10 dice. I’m legally blind and having braille dice helps me play along with everyone else without needing someone else to read my rolls.
I actually wasn't that exited over this project, but the result surprised me! It was really great. It's amazing how much good a simple 3D printer can do. Anyone can now make any personalized object and this project was a perfect opportunity to utilize that feature.
Hey, I'm a little disappointed with the ending of the process ... In all my prints at the end after sanding with the sandpaper I use brush with ethyl acetate on it (CH3COOC2H5 in case I had wrong translation) it dissolves the ABS plastic and hides the layers on the item this solvent also creates a smooth lacquer-like surface and makes the item stronger. Also, you can add to the solvent some paint and it makes item more colorful and hide color of the filament, and this paint will embed itself in item structure in such way that it would hard to remove.
Yeah don't use that on PLA. As far as I'm aware it actually just weakens it without melting it together. I've tried Acetone on my PLA and it does nothing good.
@@tis_ace ABS dissolves in both esters and ketones, so acetone works fine as well, in fact, most people use acetone instead due to its lower boiling point. PLA can dissolve in ethyl acetate sometimes dissolves PLA, as does DCM, but DCM is rather toxic.
This version of the tesla turbine is very efficient at converting mechanical power into... mechanical power. Wait, that isn't a turbine, there's no wind!
This video is just so dang awesome and wholesome! Also not only does it make me want to buy that 3D printer, but I remember hearing the university UCF had students 3D printing and wiring robotic prosthesis for young children and really makes that an interesting idea.. Might be really fun to try if I do end up getting the printer. +1 for giving us faith in humanity!
Integza, you have a new subscriber on your hands! This is the first video i saw of you and i was instantly hooked! Keep up the great work and your amazing quality!
If I had a prosthetic leg, I would totally install some kind of electrical generator to collect the energy from the swinging motion of the leg (like those self-winding watches) to charge my cell phone. Also, hidden compartments, for _secrets._
That leg looks great. Sporty, but not like a sports leg. More like a Robo leg. Very cool. Excellent choices made along the way. Dominik had some good ideas.
A friend of mine jumped from the 8th floor. He survived too. I was there, alone with him, waiting for an ambulance; it was ghastly. Broke his jaw several teeth; broke a lumbar vertebra, broke both his wrists and ankles; left leg was badly smashed. Lungs collapsed. My aunt who's an emergency anesthesiologist told me these are common fractures because even when someone jumps to suicide, there is the reflex upon hitting the ground, to land on your legs and to arrest your fall with your hands. The velocity is such that your end joints break before you can do anything; you bang your jaw and your lungs collapse. Most people die. Those who recover end-up amputated or paralysed. My friend ended up losing one leg too, and although it took two years of physiotherapy to fix him after several surgeries, he's now back to essentially his old functional self; even dancing and walking with a seemingly natural gait. I'm not implying this guy here fell out of a suicide attempt - falls are common - but those who are tempted to kill themselves this way, should be exposed to what really happens when you do so. The burden is not only on yourself if you survive, but on the medical staff who have to pick up your pieces, and on your friends and family, who'll have to shoulder you over the long haul.
Just decided to buy a 3D printer today. Spend half of the day deciding what was a good fit for my needs. Decided to go for a flsun-qqs. Then i watched a few video on youtube since one of my favourite channel published content (yes, yours :p ). What was my suprise when i saw the same model i just bought after spending so much time choosing one ! I guess it means my choice was not that bad if you did the same. Keep up with the good work !

Actually we have a project on this idea two and half years back. We have achieved 70% of it had been done here. Where we have failed is to cut the print into two parts add clamps for two halves to join them together.
Awesome design and good work! I think printing in PETG would've been a better idea as it is more temperature resistant and will keep it's shape much better. Particularly the clamping mechanism would've benefited from PETG. But overall very cool!

Ive Seen quite a bit of your video and they are really inspiring. Make me want to build my own stuff using my printer. Also the concept of using cd disk or hard drive disk as the rotor sounds weird because having a rougher surface area (such at using sandpaper on metal) can help make the air stick to the rotor much easier.

My uncle had a prosthetic leg. First time I saw that it was just a metal post with a socket and foot i was like "seriously". It even dented up the sill of his car when he got in and bumped the snow off the boot. Didn't understand why at the price these things cost they can't at least have the outline of a damn calf muscle. Although it makes a nice weapon if needed.... hahaha
