Thanks for showing about kun khmer bong. I am representing it here in long beach for the future younger generation. My dad was a kun khmer kickboxer in cambodia before the war & during the war when it started. He told me during his time how dangerous it is and how he had to fight & win to survive in his 14-18 year old days & when the war happend to all had to evacuate.

Muay Thai is world reknowned and loved worldwide. It's the art of eight limbs.
Every MMA fighter is schooled in Muay Thai.
Muay Thai is very popular in the U.S. and especially here in California.
There are Muay Thai fight leagues here in Southern California, like Royal Combat.
Muay Thai is popular worldwide, all over Asia, U.S., Europe, Mexico, and Brazil. Mexico even has a Muay Thai fight league.
Foreigners from all over the world travel to Thailand to train in Muay Thai with actual Thai fighters.
Thailand took the raw martial art and turned it into an actual formal sport with rules and fight leagues.
My 10 year old daughter who is half Thai/ half Mexican-Anerican practices Muay Thai in Long Beach. She's been practicing Muay Thai since 7 years old. She's now 10, so it's been 3 years now. Before she practiced Muay Thai, she practiced Brazilian Capoeira from the aged of 3 years old til the age of 7 years old.

That's very disrespectful to the Cambodian communities and audience here by mentioning Muay Thai! Leave Muay Thai out of this! They try to claim everything from the Cambodian since 1238, when they were chasing by Mongolian from Yunnan China. Cambodian aka Khmer Empire was the biggest in southeast Asia before the Thai, Laos and Vietnamese took the land. Everybody knows Muay Thai it's popular, because they have no war. Their king has so much money for international marketing since the 60s. Do you even know it's origin of Muay Thai before taking it for face value?! Even the Sak Yant tattoos are all Cambodian writing which the thai have tatted on their back! This is a stolen art by the thai. First, it was called Muay Boran (Boran is a Cambodian word mean ancient). Then it turns into Muay Thai.
Thai help funded the Khmer Rouge Genocides with Pol Pot Army and used them to fight the VietCong, for their buffer zone for their homeland security and even placed land mines near the border. Thailand was used as a US military refueling station for the Vietnam war. Thailand was hosted and paid as part of the UN Refugee camp, and it was an R&R Red Light district for US Military when they're on their duty break before heading back to war. When the Cambodian genocide lost 2 and 1/2 millions population, Thailand was free to expand their culture worldwide, which they got from Cambodian and make it internationally known and popular. When we were down, they were up! It doesn't take much to do you research by googling or use ChatGPT! Give credit when credit is due and stop rubbing into our face like it's that all you know! Thai is the newest hybrid multiculture in southeast Asia. Besides, I have books about all the Cambodia temples all over Thailand and Laos. Know your timeline and history. Respect the culture that been there before them!

The word muay in Lao and Thai means boxing, Thailand doesn't own boxing. It's just the way we southeast Asians box and that includes the Laos, the Thais, the Cambodians and Myanmars/Burmas. The world only knows Asian boxing through the Thais because they made it famous but as a Lao person who knows the Thai and Lao culture, I know for a fact everyone in Laos and Thailand sees boxing the same, we (Thai and Lao) don't claim it belongs to just the Thais.

I disagree with the Thai’s claim that boxing does not belongs to them. The Siam states that the Muay Thai originated in Siam and that Khmer peoples copy their boxing!! Not only boxing , The Siam claims that my Khmer peoples also copy their clothing , Khmer ballet ( Apsara) & foods!!!! My mom family are from Surin 12:34 & Father are from Cambodia. I don’t claim my mother side sue to many Discrimination from the Siams.
I’m proud of the young Khmer who are educated, going back to live in Cambodia to show the world that we Khmer will give voice for our country.
Lastly the Siam called us Cambodian, (Khmen ) this is discrimination against, this words as meaning weCambodian are dogs!!!!

Muay Thai as a separate category of sports isn't popular in the U.S.
However, as a fighting style for MMA. MMA isn't a style, it just means mixed martial arts, so it can be anything. Most people train two types of martial arts as their foundation for MMA. Muay Thai for striking and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the ground game (wrestling). There's always a mix of different styles but, the two I mentioned is the most popular combination since it's well rounded. Of course there's UFC fighters that has different backgrounds in different arts but, it boils down to knowing a style in striking and grappling.
