So "Danda" refers to the finality of a sentence, or rather to the ending of a story. It also can be perceived as a final judgment, as in the belief that the sum of the life of which you led is what you are owed. Yet the name of this story is "Dandadan", which is clever, by inserting the word "dan" at the end of this, it then gives the prior word "Danda" an alternative meaning as in "a story within a story", or a story without end. This idea or teaching upheaves the basic ideals of one attaining spiritual nirvana; in Buddhism all beings follow a cycle of death & rebirth but by placing one's self outside of this natural cycle, one cannot be judged or face death, they're story will then result to continue indefinitely. This is more akin to the idea of a mock path of enlightenment, the idea of being so tied to one's own life, they are unable to let go of their grievances & choose not to transcend & only wish to hold onto they're mortal life & rewrite & focus all of their will on their own story instead of moving on & accepting. It is the opposite of attaining enlightenment, where one usually transcends to the next life by letting go of their worldly desires in order to move on, "Dandadan" refers to one who willingly chooses to be thrust outside of the cycle of death & rebirth. One who instead can peer onto the outside of they're own story & make alterations at will, & never come to terms with their own choices, & as a result if said individual's story is now neverending, then every person is also now subject to the wills & alterations of living inside this person's personal "story." It is a person who decides to place their story above every other person's story. An indefinite story. It's closer to the idea of becoming the author (dictator) of a reality then a divine god, by being outside of the reach of nirvana & judgment & natural cycle you would be able to manipulate everyone else's story to essentially only better your own story or what your personal view of reality should be & everyone else is also now subject to it. It's basically the recipe on how to become the main character of a universe. "Dandadan" is the sum idea of creating your own "neverending story", it is a selfish & immoral act. In making your story the only story that matters, you would willingly create a universe full of people unable to make their own choices & not even know it, or edit people's entire backstories at a glance or rewrite entire events in history (history denial) or even erase people out of other peoples lives that they have met from their own stories (example: our main characters never meeting that first day) or denying the choices people have made or disregarding the growth they gained from those choices.. It is a desire only born from one being unable to change or grow, because they are unwilling to trust others & cannot accept the choices they've made. A person truly unable to love another person more than themselves would seek out how to attain the "Dandadan."
