dont forget to add a new css rule with #voiceflow-chat { display: contents; } for exemple because on mine it's was display:none; therefore not showing at all with no error, found the solution in the shopify support forum.

Yes, the process of embedding is as straightforward as you've shown it. And yet...
It drives me crazy. My VoiceFlow-Replit-OpenAI Assistant stopped loading on our Shopify. It worked, then the speech bubble disappeared (the code was there in theme.liquid). Then, I have republished, removed old and copied new. All works in the test environment, makes the calls vie Replit to the OpenAI assistant. Yet, when copied over to theme.liquid (body) it does not 'come alive' on the page. Why did it work three weeks ago and why doesn't now?

I've done everything correctly, yet the assistant doesn't appear on my website. I can only get it to work when I inspect element the website and delete the chat widget css property of display: none. How do I fix this?

Looks like shopify modified their base.css stylesheet.
Try adding the following code ontop of the Voiceflow widget code
#voiceflow-chat { display: block !important; }
