You can hear how quickly they are rolling, e.g. whoosh whoosh whoosh whoosh, a bit less than 4 carriages per second, 22m per carriage so 88m/s, actual top speed is 300km/h!
I remember my 1st ride with it - spent hour or few stuck in tunnel due English having signal errors. Spent more time in that spot than rest of the journey combined. Amazing train, amazing routes.
Awsome video cant wait to go U.K Trains Spoting again between 29 januarie and 5 februarie coming with new eurostar set 320 from rotterdam netherlands direcktly to london trip of 3 houres drive great video
NEWLY REFURBISHED CLASS 373 1:32 THE OTHERS HAS BEEN REPLACED BY CLASS 374 AND SENT AND A TRIP TO THE SCRAPYARD 😢😢😢😢😢😢 BUT THERES IS A CARRIAGE AT A MUSEUM...
How comes that in france highspeed trains can go over 300kmh on a gravel foundation while here in Germany speeds over 200 are only done on concrete foundation? Is it simply different laws?
Here an idea, instead of use crappie iet for hs2, we use a class 373 on hs2 because it's built for high speed lines its got a high capacity and it would just be a waste to not get some more use out of them.
IEPs would never be used on HST. 250mph speed limit but a 140mph train? I hope they’d have more sense than doing that. I don’t think 373s though because they are of an older design and some are rusty from salty Chunnel air apparently.

That's a LOT of kinetic energy.
@@starfishsystems 800 tonnes, 88m/s, so about 3Gj. 12MW engine power so it could theoretically accelerate to that velocity in 258s.
But then air resistance@@Christubeopher
@@weetabix1045 yep, not sure how you would factor that in though
The way that they sound like woosh woosh woosh Sounds like the wheels passing by and they generate electricity and it's absolutely not true
2:24 I think that train had a cold
Voice Crack 💀💀
Some glitch.
Big shoutout to the last Velaro driver for the signal and even noticing you at such speed!
Great shots - and pretty cool you managed to see so many 373's!
Thank you, always great to see of course 😄
Great shot coming out from under the bridge in the dark with headlights and sparks.
If I lived close to this I would be here every day

HS1 top speed is 140 mph, would love to see some videos on the other side of the water stretching its legs
What? The newer trains here look just like our ICE Velaro D and Neo! They´re shaped the same!
Because they are!

I've watched this video once and still curious how you got the camera this close to an e300?
The fence at the tunnel portal goes in towards the track so it’s totally safe 👍
@@kentrailexplorer so you just put your camera over it in a stable place
Wouldn’t Alstom AGV would’ve been a better alternative to replace class 373 instead of Siemens Velaro ?
Nice spot spottersfriend ❤
Very dramatic, great filming!

???????????
hs2 is using bombardier zefiro sets??????
Where exactly is this? Is it near Maidstone?
Yes it’s just north of Maidstone near M20 junction 6
that looks like it would be pretty painless
Is this publicaly accessible, and if so, where?
Excellent footage @Kent Rail Explorer
Thank you Trainmatt1
My dream
I'm not sure if I'd be happy or scared riding this.
I’d be happy
@@r.h.8754The Eurostar goes 189mph and has nicer trains sorry to break it to you.
I like 373s more than 374s
