      hey! I’m not sure if u took it already but.... u can stand ur comb up where u are about to cut, & the direction the comb is pointing in, that is where u angle the hair; this should prevent over direction... I’m not sure how to explain without showing but I hope u understand!! i take mine tomorrow, GOODLUCK on urs!🎊

      But yes I use the comb method my only problem is overdirecting the hair to the side (I probably need to do smaller sections to better prevent that). So imma work practicing with the comb more, thank you!!

    I ask for this type of haircut, and I get everything but. Everyone is so in love with a point cut and I hate it. They also love the thinning and/or texturing shears and hate those too. What terminology can I use to get people to stop using those things and just give a straight layered cut like you're showing?

    Hello Greta, thanks for making this video, for some reason I struggled when I did mine, it took me forever and was really frustrated, It would have been easier if I did small sections and use hair clips to have clean sections, I will re do again this week. Great content! , best ~ Jc

    Where do you personally get your mannequin heads I have one with a similar face, that I got as a freebie in school but it was quite smaller, it was one of those ones that had different sections of highlights, colored hair. Basically the ones that you gotta get to being all one. Color.

      Hello! Currently all the mannequin heads I use are from back when I was in school too.
      You can get them from many different places online though. Just be sure it is human hair if you want to color and use heat on it.

    We have to use manequin stands and my teacher won't allow me to crouch so I bend the head forward and place the comb to the scalp and pull outwards is that fine? Otherwise I have to fold up like a chair to see the nape area

    • @408beautybygreta2

      Update: if anyone comes across this and cares. I got a 9 out of 15 for the haircut and still passed the exam lmao
      I barely finished the 2 back sections of the head, I cut myself BAD with the shears, and was rushing so it was uneven.
      BASICALLY try your best, don't sweat it, sanitize, and work your butt off for everything else.

    • @408beautybygreta2
      @408beautybygreta2  3 роки тому +1

      This could be considered uniform layers as it is all brought to the same elevation. But this is called 90 degree layers. Because the hair is help up to 90 degrees (straight out from the head).

    • @408beautybygreta2
      @408beautybygreta2  2 роки тому +1

      Typically I cut the length first and then add the layers. That way I’m not changing the length. I also typically over direct the layers backwards to make sure there aren’t too many or too short in front. But each haircut is different for each client. As well as each stylist is different and has their own way of doing things.
