    As confirmed by many already, the northern lights vary in brightness. They can be like a thin layer of lighter sky when you cannot even be sure if they are there or only in your imagination, but even in Southern Finland and in cities where city lights disturb the scene, they can be just as bright and colorful as in any picture.

    Beautiful! The autumnal colours, the wetlands and the lakes and the Northern lights too, even though you didn't catch them in their more intense displays. Hope to visit this beautiful country one day.

    Well, if the Aurora is strong you will see the same colors as the camera. All the colors!

    No the Northern Lights are not a scam and they look exactly like in the pictures when you are lucky. The strong and good ones are just way more rare than people know. Conditions have to be perfect. I've seen from white, bright green to purple and red ones. But it has to be lots of solar activity, cold, clear and little light pollution. There is apps to see for how big of a change you have to see them where you are.

    Sometimes the Aurora light is really as bright as the camera. Even better than with a camera in those conditions where its really bright

    You can see the northern lights best in winter, you can't usually see them much in autumn

    Just last night vitnessed auroras more stunning than on these photos you have shown here. It’s true though that other times they can be a bit lame (but still to anyone never seen before, quite stunning). But you shouldn’t come to a conclusion that if you had the lame auroras, they’re always lamer than on photos or videos. Regardless, really enjoying your vlogs. Keep up the good work! 😊

    Great Finnish finish in Finland. Totally enjoyed your epic travels across Europe and Asia. Hopefully you'll decide on a new adventure in the not too distant future. I lived in Finland for a few years and still have close friends there. I only saw the aurora a couple of times and only a thin green line, although where I lived has had some amazing displays in recent years.

    To truly see the Aurora lights you should visit Tromsø in the winter months, from December through February. Its magical. Sometimes you can see the lights in the south as far as Oslo in these months.

    What a beautiful end of a magical trip :) Those yellow forests are so magical, i'll never forget driving in the evening (near abisko) when the sun settles and the yellow/orange trees seem to burn, glow or look like liquid gold. With big mountains in the background and hundrets of small lakes & wild rivers near the street
    We also saw the nothern lights this september in norway & sweden, and sometimes they are strong enough to see the colors with your eye (we saw a few green ones). But it's still good to know that you should watch out for "glowing dancing clouds" instead of the bright green/yellow/reds if it's your first time hunting them. I think we missed them a few times because we thought "nahh, that's not green, it can't be" until someone told us and showed us how to capture them with our phones. If you know, then you'll suddenly see them & can tell the difference between a regular cloud and northern lights. Oh and we used to aurora app and only went outside if other people reported aurora sights in our area. That way we did not have to wait in the cold rain only to see nothing :D

    Sadly this Northern light's thing is removing some of the credability you have build up in previous videos. Please do not mix personal limitations or bad luck with facts. Read up on this subject please!

    • @WildVikingTravels
      @WildVikingTravels  8 місяців тому

      @RickardRehnberg I am sorry but I am not understanding you properly, could you please elaborate on your thoughts. I can try to explain my side better if there was a misunderstanding. Northern Lights activity is a lot of the time not as seen in the videos to our eyes due to the limitations of light exposure which differs from a fraction of a second for our eyes to several seconds for the camera. If the activity is higher, then the colors become as visible as the photos and a fraction of a second is long enough for the eyes to detect color as well but to people not native to north of the arctic circle, it is an unknown fact that northern lights don't necessarily need to look the same in real life as they do in the pictures and therefore might miss a very special moment due to expectations and limitations in knowledge - not every day is a green-red-purple show in the sky but a lot of the days, it is just a white and gray due to activity not being that high. I am not sure which part of it here is bad luck or limitations which you mention as on some days, there was visible colors without the camera and on some days there just wasn't for us as well.

    • @RickardRehnberg
      @RickardRehnberg 7 місяців тому

      @@WildVikingTravels I lived close to the arctic cirle for more than 50 years so I seen my fair share of northern lights. I am fairly sure there are moments when it is exactly as you say but to say that they ALL are like that is totally false. I seen bad and good ones with my naked eye. I got some on camera and yes they often look different than with the naked eye but still you do can see good amazing onces with naked eye if all things are in your favor. Maybe all northern lights you have see would be as you describe but it still is not valid for ALL
      In the past I noticed that you a few times like to use words that indicates that this is how things are. And from my travels around the world I rarely learn how a country works every where after only a few days.
      So that is the trigger for my response. The effort to tell the world that this is how things are everywhere and for everyone only based on own kvick findings.
      My suggestion is to rephrase those statements in the future so they reflect your own personal findings more than trying to make it into a universal fact.
      If done so I dont think I have any negative comments at all ;-)

  • @mads5000
    @mads5000 8 місяців тому

    Yeah the ugly truth about the northern light... Whats ugly here is that you guys tells people whats true about something you have no clue about.
    The only thing people should learn from these two guys is don't trust them, they just invent truths on the fly...
    "Our eyes are just not sensitive to see such thin colors clearly"🤣🤣🤣 please find me a source for this statement🙈
