I saw this video in the right time. I was on the phone a few minutes ago with someone who owns a company, he saw my work on Instagram, and he loved it so much, so he called me. Long story short, after a long talk I was kinda afraid to let him down after he offered me a chance to work with him from my city, and I kind of made some excuses, but at the same time, I wanted to accept it, and thank god he was so nice with me and he insisted to give me a chance to work, so I took. After that I said to myself, I could've tell him I'll give it a shot instead of showing some excuses, and then I saw this vide, so this whole video is a really improtant video to me. #BTA133 Last year I was shocked by all the changes in my country and at the workplace and I started complaining and pointing the finger and I was really unhappy because I knew things could be better until I realized that whatever I was doing wasn't making it any better. So, from that moment more and more I stopped making excuses. I know I can't fix everything, but I focus more and more on the things I'm responsible for and try to keep myself accountable. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting there. Bottomline complaining, negativity, excuses are all things that stifle you. They don't add one bit to your success.

I actually think it's true that some people with the right race, gender, wealth, have it easier than others, it's just how our society is. It's just the way it is, and ignoring that would be misunderstanding how structures of power work in North America. HOWEVER, I also came to realize that there is a difference between RECOGNIZING AND UNDERSTANDING the structures of power and LETTING THEM DETERMINE HOW FAR you could go. Big difference. I chose not so long ago, while I understand that as a poor disabled woman of color, THERE WILL BE MORE OBSTACLES in my way, that I ALSO HAVE other cards that i could use to push tru, and that these struggles ARE ACTUALLY what makes my skin thicker and make me more likely to succeed. I think this nuance is very important, because understanding where you stand in the matrix of power AND YET be so stuburn that you don't let it define you, that's the real deal right there. That's what makes freedom possible for disadvantaged communities.

I used to have a voracious appetite for reading but I stopped because people around me said that I was wasting my time. So I stopped reading and slowly, the passion went away. I actually think it's true that some people with the right race, gender, wealth, have it easier than others, it's just how our society is. It's just the way it is, and ignoring that would be misunderstanding how structures of power work in North America. HOWEVER, I also came to realize that there is a difference between RECOGNIZING AND UNDERSTANDING the structures of power and LETTING THEM DETERMINE HOW FAR you could go. Big difference. I chose not so long ago, while I understand that as a poor disabled woman of color, THERE WILL BE MORE OBSTACLES in my way, that I ALSO HAVE other cards that i could use to push tru, and that these struggles ARE ACTUALLY what makes my skin thicker and make me more likely to succeed.
I think this nuance is very important, because understanding where you stand in the matrix of power AND YET be so stuburn that you don't let it define you, that's the real deal right there. That's what makes freedom possible for disadvantaged communities.
yes it is but there a lot of smart people born in the wrong place and time and skin ,they find a way to go to riches and success. Its like chess if you're you're a pawn and find a way to go the other side of the board you can choose whatever peace you want to be
the difference is you have more opportunities in the real world

I used to have a voracious appetite for reading but I stopped because people around me said that I was wasting my time. So I stopped reading and slowly, the passion went away. Not a day goes by where I don't regret it and I blamed everyone for making me stop. Now I see that that is just an excuse. I should have ignored everyone and continued with reading. I am going to pick up a book now. Thank you so much for this video.

My whole life from when I can remember when everything started to get hard I would give up and give myself excuses to why I couldn't go through that and I'm 24 now and I've been doing it everyday you can including today and I keep asking myself why why am I not on your show why am I not too successful speaker that I know I'm capable of being specially when I am obsessed with the thought of changing lives in the most accurate way. I hesitate anytime I want to make one of these videos all of the videos that you have on your UA-cam channel will one day be me and honestly I wish I was telling you this through a video or I had want to show you but my excuses get in the way. Every day morning and night I watch all of these videos that inspire me and it's the biggest obsession and I can remember having and comprehending what people say and what I read was always the biggest issue I had along with focus.. but I didn't have to make myself when it came to this it came natural to me now explaining it to others does not it's hard but I'm willing try until it works. And I will meet you one day!
