When I’ve planted mine in ground I created like a ‘shield’ of well draining soil. Idk if that makes sense. So the hope is that the roots can establish themselves in the well draining soil and then move out into the rest of the ground. It also prevents too much moisture directly on the cactus and allows for the roots to heal, if they got broken when planted, without being exposed to much moisture. My soil is quite sandy though and it does seem to dry quickly. Love the videos man keep em up!
