Joel, I have one and they are great to drive! I used to have a Harley and I wouldn't compare cause I love both feelings. Mine is Manual not semi and runs like a bat out of hell. Loving to ride a motorcycle doesn't stop you from loving to ride a Sportster. It's like telling someone that if you love Harley's you can't love motocross. Or If you ride a Sea-Doo your not worthy of a Jet-Ski. Don't compare...just enjoy!

I own a 2008 Can Am Spyder. As much as I love it, I wish BRP would reconsider the performance. Make it Shaft driven. Give it an inline engine ( maybe an engine similar to a Honda Goldwing's ) I do like the look of the belt but I hate the feel of it when I do heavy accelerating. I love V-Twins but the engine doesn't have the same roar as a V-twin cruiser so might as well give it a more reliable engine like an inline. We all know they're smoother and would last longer. Oh yeah, fix the front.
He got the name wrong. It called a can am spyder rs. The trans on this bike is called the se 5 , It also comes with the standard 5 speed trans (SM 5) you see on motorcylces. The se 5 is a extra $1,500 and the sm 5 is standard.
Because most motorcycles are made for performance, while little boring econo box cars are made for maximum gas mileage. Cars also have much less wind drag than motorcycles with their enclosed engines, hoods, air dams, etc. Besides, people dont buy motorcycles for the economy factor, they do it for the fun, adventure, excitement factor.
@stickwalker How is it not, there is cars that are much heavier with much bigger engines that are getting 45-50, so why cant a small bike get 35, its very easy to get 35+ on that.
Don't comment about something ryanford8 that you don't have. This bike is amazing and what fool needs to speed down a highway endangering the lives of others. This bike has tons of power and is very safe. Maybe you're a bit jealous because you don't have one!!!!

All this is a bike with training wheels on it.. That back tire is wider than alot of the cars being sold today..Which is good..Maybe mustang should take notes and learn how to put a wider tire on the cars..Cause they having traction problems like crazy.. I know this has nothing to do with mustang's and all but,thats just the truth.

Hell you could even buy a scooter and still have more fun out of it than a car. And they give about 70-80 miles to a gallon..
so...semi-auto transmission, 3 wheels. Basically taking anything requiring skill from a motorcycle and looking like an incredible douche while doing it. Great job, Can-Am.
Its a motorcycle for those who cant ride a real motorcycle....lol, what a looser, i would not be caught dead on ne oof those things, they look stupid, they get shit mileage for a bike, and they are slow for a bike, top speed of 110Mph and 0-60 in 4sec., A ninja 250 would smoke this fool and get better fuel economy while doing it....what a joke!!!!!

All stock exhaust systems sound wimpy. You can buy slip ons for the Spyder.
