That's what I love about this instrument. Even after playing for years, you still discover simple things that were always there for the taking if you just took a the time to work them out. Thanks for sharing this!

Diminished triads are way cool. There's a diminished triad tucked within every dominant 7th chord. E7, take away the E and you're left with Ab, B, and D, a diminished triad.

Really cool little breakdown! I've dug these from Hendrix, although he seems to drop the middle note of the triangle playing the high E and G... The intro to Red House is one of these "triangles" correct?
I've been a huge Hendrix nut and can relate to your passion for Stevie (I love Stevie too but Jimi is my "idol") but LOVE your channel. I find a lot of the Stevie stuff overlaps with the Jimi stuff in ways. I've been studying Jimi for 20 years but have never had lessons or any explanation on why I'm doing the things I've been learning/mimicing. I find channels like yours really help get me caught up and understand WHAT and WHY things are etc...
Anyways, if you read this Anthony, big thanks! And you've done an excellent job of studying Stevie and your playing sounds excellent and inspiring 👏

I'm normally plugged into my Kemper Profile for lessons. In this one I believe I was using one of the cleaner Top Hat amp profiles created by @tonejunkietv, as shown in this video: ua-cam.com/video/owmgGtYtwlk/v-deo.html

    Drop the root of a Dom7 chord and what’s left is a diminished triad. Example 1: C7 = C E G Bb - throw away the “C” root and you have E diminished triad (EGBb). Example 2: C9 = C E G Bb D - throw away the “C” root and you have Em7b5 or E half-diminished (E G Bb D). Example 3: C7 b9 = C E G Bb Db - throw away the “C” root and you have E dim7 (E G Bb Db). General rule of thumb - drop the root of a dominant 7 chord and play diminished from the 3rd of the chord. A7 = C# dim. B7 = D# dim. C7 = E dim. D7 = F# dim. E7 = G# dim. F7 = A dim. G7 = B dim. Dom7 = dim triad from 3rd of chord. Dom9 = m7b5 “half-dim from 3d of chord. Dom7b9 = full dim7 from 3rd of chord. 👍🎸🎶💯
