No worries! Thank you for watching. I chose the ultimate flexi DIY return flights so I was able to book my return flights about 3-4 weeks before I flew home so whilst in america. It depends how much flexibility you want and I wanted a lot as I wasn’t sure what my travel plans would be :)
I think you can book them once at camp but the longer you leave it, the less options there maybe! I’d contact Camp America Treks and see what they advise x
I’m planning to go 2022! I’ve just been searching about travelling and online it’s telling me you can’t travel to Florida with a J1 visa did you have any issues getting back?
Wooo for 2022! Ahh I guess that’s a covid thing! No I had no issues but I went in 2018. Just keep your eyes peeled as things might change! I’m sure you’ll be fine though!
When you plan to travel around America, did you use the visa the camp gave you, or do you have to apply for an ESTA? Also, what date did you arrive at camp and what date you left? (I know dates and times change, but it helps me plan ahead) 😊 Hope to hear from you! :)
Hi! You use the J1 visa you get before going to camp. This lasts for 3 months which usually works as 2 months at camp and 30 days after camp to travel. You don’t have to travel for 30 days though it’s up to you when you go home. I arrived on 15th June and finished camp on 8th Aug and then travelled til around 25th Aug. :)
Thanks for the video, it was really informative! Out of curiosity, were most of the friends you made and travelled with after camp British or American? Many thanks!
No problem at all and thank you for watching!! My friends I travelled with were British as the American friends we made went home after our first stop in NYC, but I know other people did continue to travel round with a few Americans
Thanks for your video! When booking your return flights, is this something you did while you were out in America or before you left?

@@MaisieCraddock thank you! This helps a lot, I definitely think having flexibility is a good idea !
Are you going this year? I'm thinking of 2022!
I’m not no :( wish I was but it all seems a bit up in the air with Covid still! 2022 sounds like a good plan! I hope you have the best time ❤️❤️✈️✈️
Anyone waiting for the embassy to Open?
Yep, still hopeful they'll open at some point soon
Just a question are able to book the treks once you are at camp or should you pre-book it ?
