I never get tired of that sound, and even just admiring how flat the chassis stays when turning is awe-inspiring. It sux being 6'4"; I imagine even if I had the money, I couldn't fit into an F1 car in this lifetime.
Yeah I'm 6'3". The seat is custom made for the driver though so you should be able to fit.
SuperN0va Justin Wilson was 6'3" back in '03 or so. Hell, he even had an investment program to help fund his ride. At least it paid for the special seat... He did OK.
Nicktrance1 Nothing compared to the fans and combo charger when you stand up close. If the car is idling you can hear a jet engine-like whine.
To be fair, I think the boat would be faster if they were all in the water 8-)

The aerodynamic on a bike is horrible. The low weight gives a short advantage, but then the downforce in F1 kills it. With a better ground clearance, the F1 would have zoom away faster

Don't fuck with a V10 F1 car, 8sec 0-300kph, 375kph top speed without DRS, best transmission known to exist, bike fanatics can moan about this not being a Moto GP bike but a Moto GP bike is actually slightly slower than a V8 F1 car car nevermind V10 beasts like a R25 or the F2004.
The Ducatis are really powerful. So I am not sure

Also, the Honda seamless gearbox of their MotoGP bike is faster than F1 transmissions.
Vin Look there's no technology on a Moto GP bike that's more advanced than a F1 car, all these seamless shifts or pneumatic valve and other stuff all came from F1 7-8 years earlier, and yeah your power to weight is flawed, that's a dry weight for the bike, add fuel and other fluids, add the rider and his gear the bike weighs 250kgs... That gives the bike barely 1000hp per ton, no better than let's say a One:1 road car, where as a F1 car like the F2004 or R25 was 605kg with fuel and driver included and also they produced 970hp so as you can see a V10 F1 car of the mid 2000s would eat any Moto GP bike in a straight line, oh yeah if they're setup for top speed Honda got over 412kph on a airstrip so even top speed is out of reach for a Moto GP bike which can only reach 350kph, also just to note modern F1 cars from Mercedes and Ferrari are set to reach 1000hp again next year with bucket load of torque and the most advanced electronics known to man apart from maybe the most latest military gear so yeah there you go.
Yeah a old school v10 2003 car was when the cars peaked performance. BAR Honda was not even the best car either. imagine the ferrari or the Mclaren.

Pal, in fact for FIA, F1 had reached its pinnacle during its V10 time...yes they could make even faster cars than the V10 but limited for safety reasons...no point making cars that too quick but hard to be controlled...so for that reason, they decided to reduced the power from time to time plus with a more "earth-friendly" engines.

400 meters in 9.0 s is not exactly fast for an F1 car...
Schumacher did a 600 meter run on wets in 9,4 s back in 2003 with the F2003-GA F1. I also want to point out that the age of the car does not matter as even the 1994 F1 Benetton would actually accelerate faster than today's 2021 F1 car. It's all about wheel-spin and initial grip.

brinu ton The problem for bikes is not a lack of power. not even close. but the real problem is putting all that power on the road. you can give it even 350 bhp. but a bike will never ever be able to generate the downforce required to put it all on the road off the line. F1 car is the king. and dont even start with what happens when they get to the end of a straight into (what is alien to bikers or they just pretend it never exists) a turn. The F1 car will absolutely spank a MotoGP and run away. even F3 and V8 supercars will be able to put numbers close to the MotoGP bikes round a track.

Agreed, and they need to start actually enforcing even regulations and penalties across the grid. Its obvious the political powers want Mercedes and Hamilton to win. Events of the hybrid era made that painfully obvious. Before Hamilton even entered the sport both Eccelstone and Dennis talked about Hamilton as if he was made of gold. The fix was in. But the sport wont take away the hybrids or the regulations Mercedes needs to win, Mercedes and the F1 owners are making way too much money off of things the way they are now. The sport is a political sham now.

My world again makes sense after that first race. That F1 car makes even the CART Indy cars of the early to mid 1990's sound low revving. Good God, what a beautiful sound.
Of course the F1 wins, but check out how the Bike keeps right up in the first few seconds, thats astonishing for something you can actually buy, specially considering the F1 is the most advanced and specialized race car in the world.
That motorcycle costs a million pounds a season.

Hell, my 31 year old antique runs in the mid-90's, and I've driven friends boats well over 110 mph.
If you're going to use a competition car and bike, go get a modern 8,000 HP top fuel hydro and you'll have a much different result. ;-)

Even though Jenson never won a Grand Prix driver's championship (to my knowledge), he remains one of my favorite drivers....besides he seems like such a normal down to earth bloke. Hearing that glorious beautiful V10, I feel so glad I lived in the great v10 era of f1 & the unrestricted 80s & 90s of F1.

Jet powered cars are in the list...without mentioning that if you talk about giving the bike the "proper configuration for drag racing, the same can be done with the F1. Things like removing some ailerons and taking out the power limits of the engine...and you'll end up with a 2000 hp monster that would smoke any bike at 500 kph.

This type of "power boat" is fast of course, it's for racing, but is totally outclassed with the other 2 vehicles.
They should have done the comparison using a drag boat. At least for a quarter mile it would have been competitive.

Niall Ferris i'd give the acceleration advantage to the Motorcycle as its lighter but top speed it's a tough one. An F1 car can reach speeds exceeding 190MPH while generating around 4 tonnes of Downforce. If Engineers could tinker with the vehicles like they normally would in a competition environment the Top speed would go to the F1 car as it's raw power is undeniable, i would say that if engineers wanted too they could make an F1 car exceed 240Mph but it would be less stable in the corners making it slower around a track. However if you took the vehicles straight out of competition and slapped them into a drag race i'd say the Bike would win due to the F1 car being setup for incredibly fast speeds around corners not Straight line speed.
Either way, both are incredible machines.

The road race was the North West 200 which has a pretty smooth road surface but you go off road it’s a walk or tree that stops you.

They need to try with a boat like we have here. We got racing boats that can break 200 mph and drag boats can can hit 0-150 faster than you can blink. That said still don't think they'd beat the f1 car but better than that boat at least
No point in comparing the boat, basic physics dictates that because of the traction from road vs water you will naturally get better acceleration from land vehicles.
Unless you can find a better way to propel the boat (like a jet) and find a way of anchoring it to the surface of the water (like a hydrofoil) to ensure that 100% of force is being applied to propel the boat forwards, it will always lose in a 10 second race.

Not really. That boat was way too underpowered. There are jet skis which are more powerful than that. A drag boat would be more fitting. Also, they could've used a MotoGP motorcycle (which is pretty much superior to an SBK motorcycle) and then it would be a fair race.
