First time I dropped in it was by accident. It was a 4' ramp that had near vertical at the top. Next to it was a roll in and less steep. But I wasn't paying attention and rolled right into the steep part. I actually remember leaning way back thinking I was going over. But it turned out real smooth and from that point I wasn't scared any more. I've actually sat on the coping holding my bike and checking angles and really thinking things out before trying it on taller drops. So far no crashes. Be mindful of your every move and plan ahead. Know what you're going to do before you do it and follow through. Be ready for mistakes. I've made a few but was able to pull it off in the end because I had a plan B ready at an instant.
Great vids especially for an old dude like me very instructional helpful simple. Got my first BMX since 1999 I'm about to go to Mat Hofmanns local park to try dropping in for the very first time. Excited and afraid
The thing I like about how you roll is you say it like you’re a cool kid at the skatepark Who’s telling me how it works. Most people say it like they’re great and they’ll show you how great and maybe..just maybe if you practice, you can be like them. I sure appreciate the way you deliver the goods, without theatrics or BS...
I have a question not related to dropping in. I watched your how to 180 video it definitely helped I can get around almost every time but I have to backwards moment to get into fakie I'm trying on flat btw any ideas??
+darrell lockard are you talking about having to back pedal in your fakie? If so, its because you have a cassette hub, the one I'm riding is a free coaster which makes me not have to back pedal
Aird Bmx no I can fakie pretty well I just don't have backwards momentum after landing 180 flat I can't even get rolling back enough to need to back pedal
darrell lockard hey, I had same the problem and I figured out that I was jumping way to much of the rotation with my front tire only so it was more like a turn than a spin in the air. I did like 3/4 of the rotation in a manual position with my rear wheel on the ground. -> keep attention to tuck up your rear wheel after 90° (maybe less) and don't go to slow Hope this will help you :)
Dude you should make an in depth video on how to bunny hop it won't help me as much but will be really useful for beginners, love the channel keep it u man
Ben Grayston Man U fucking suk man if u just want a tiny hop and get a feel for it just lean back like a manual don't bend ur arms and when the front tire gets high enough just lean forward hard and try to get that back end up ez af
It depends on the quarter pipe you are dropping in on and how comfortable you are. If you are comfortable dropping in I think it's always easier at an angle. If you are learning though, on a quarter pipe where you sprocket clears the coping it will probably be easier to roll straight in.
+Lucas Raab i would say if you are willing to put down 700 for a bike, I would look into making a custom bike. But if you are looking for a complete danscomp and empire bmx have a good selection of complete bikes!
I can drop into anything that is 5 foot or smaller, but there's this one 6 foot that I've been trying to drop into for like 6 months now and I'm still too pussy to try it. Any suggestions that might help me overcome my fear?
just try to roll in anyway you can, like maybe put your foot on the coping and roll in, just pretty much anything that will get you to roll down part of it and see it isn't too bad
Yea I have tested to see if my sprocket hits the coping and it doesn't, meaning that I can drop in straight which would WAYYY less scary. But everyone tells me if I drop in straight, not on an angle, even though the sprocket won't hit I'll still fall off :/
Talking about how to drop in while sitting on your bike isn't very helpful. Try showing how it's done. I can read or watch someone sitting on their bike doesn't help much. Thanks
That moment when you realize you are sitting in the exact same skate park while watching this video.
Ya that’s the skat I go to
lift. crash *skatepark
epicbman oh well maybe I didn’t know stupid
:)
wow lol reading this during covid
how to drop in: roll over eged and don't die

“Most in depth”?
I hung around till the end for tips on dropping in on a larger quarter. Part two perhaps?
The fact he still likes these comments is amazing and thank you, this helped me alot
Glad it helped man! I’m still here and plan to keep making videos, just a little more difficult to find time with a full time job
I go to drop in then last minute get scared
Tristan Wilson just send it don’t think about it
Tristan Wilson same
don't be scared i stayed like 5min in front of the drop then push le to send it and it so fckng easy finally 🤣
Sing a song, or make a beat and just go forward.
I get scared some times when I try to go up the bank I get to scare so I stop and usaly feel
Thank you so much for this! dropped in today for the first time. very helpful!

How to Air a quarter/bowl tutorial?

Make sure you were Helmets,Knee Pads, Wrist Pads if your new to dropping in
how about bigger bikes... like say a dirtjumper? or an all round enduro? maybe a downhill?
any thoughts?
Bunny hop in

Aird Bmx no I can fakie pretty well I just don't have backwards momentum after landing 180 flat I can't even get rolling back enough to need to back pedal
+darrell lockard you are going to have to go faster and rotate a little more then
Aird Bmx ok good deal thank you very much for taking time I really appreciate it
darrell lockard hey, I had same the problem and I figured out that I was jumping way to much of the rotation with my front tire only so it was more like a turn than a spin in the air. I did like 3/4 of the rotation in a manual position with my rear wheel on the ground.

friends: oof
Plz can u do more GoPro videos and nice vid as usual
Yeah bro, i'm trying to do an even mix of both riding and how to's and such
My first drop in was 10 ft and I died
same
Ooof
steven smith hows heaven?
I was just wondering would this work on a bike with only 20” tires???
No you can do it on bigger wheels
20 is normal
is it easier to drop in, in a angle or is it easier to drop in straight on?
It depends on the quarter pipe you are dropping in on and how comfortable you are. If you are comfortable dropping in I think it's always easier at an angle. If you are learning though, on a quarter pipe where you sprocket clears the coping it will probably be easier to roll straight in.
My bike as 25 to 9 size sprocket with a zcoaster on it
first thanks man this helped alot
Are you scared to do it when you first started
How about roll in with sprocket on inside of bowl versus crashing the coping with it on the high side?
When I drop in my back tire doesn’t hit the wall any tips plsssssss
You make it look so easy
It's not hard
What bike do you have?
WOODWARD YAAAAAAA!
Been years since I dropped in and I'm so freaking scared now. Watching this trying to get brave enough to just do it tomorrow at park
awesome! This helped all!
I tried to do this and I flip over handle bars and landed on face thx
You braked?
Nah not enough sppeed I’d think
Today was my first time dropping in on a bowl first time was successful second time I fell and hurt my wrist.
How the f did u fall lmao
Do you prefer me to have pegs or no i just started
You should have no pegs at first then when you get good and learn grinds you should get some pegs.
Everyone is dumb how do you learn a grind without pegs
This helped
what type of bike around $700 that would be good for a beginner/intermediate like me
A wethepeople versus or wethepeople reason are good for you and are around that price range
+Lucas Raab i would say if you are willing to put down 700 for a bike, I would look into making a custom bike. But if you are looking for a complete danscomp and empire bmx have a good selection of complete bikes!
i’d say a sunday forecaster, with a new sprocket, bars and maybe cranks.
go with a Sunday or a we the people or a dk 🤷🏻 like ive been working with a dk siklon for a while now amd it's still going good
might be a bit late but a colony premise is around $700. I got a 2016 complete colony premise. it's very nice.
I remember my first time didn't watch any UA-cam tutorials and it was fine just lean back abit so you don't go over the handlebars
Nice. And how tf do you get back out
Do a airout or just walk it up
I’m new to bmx how do I get out of a dip
Should I get metal pedals or just stick to my regular plastic ones which came with the bike
I would recommend getting some odyssey twisted PC pedals, they are plastic and really grippy
I sub you man great videos bmx for life
+Josh TechGamer thanks bro!
welcome man I going to try to vlog me riding to lol
Thank you
I can drop into anything that is 5 foot or smaller, but there's this one 6 foot that I've been trying to drop into for like 6 months now and I'm still too pussy to try it. Any suggestions that might help me overcome my fear?
ChrisTheAnt JUST DO ITTTTTTTTTT
ChrisTheAnt JUST yolo it
ChrisTheAnt hop into it if ur comfortable on smaller quarters
just try to roll in anyway you can, like maybe put your foot on the coping and roll in, just pretty much anything that will get you to roll down part of it and see it isn't too bad

I tried dropping in and I flew over my bike leg got tangled in my break wire and I sprained my wrist
I‘m the 7.000 follower
Great tutorial, but it's been five hours and can't get out of the bowl, please send help.
Thank u
I’m scared to try because I fell and my face hit the ground hard 😢
Did not clarify, I did not know I have to turn now in Mexico
This is in college station omg bro
Sure is!
Remember with bmxs there is no bailing on drop ins unlike skateboards you will eat concrete and die if you try to bail on pipes
in my local skate park the lowest quarter is like 5 ft
Just try to find the most mellow part of the bowl
Basically u just need to roll into it
I’m just watching this for learning purposes I don’t even own a bike lol
It’s annoying because my local skateparks smallest quarter is 7 foot
i want to have a bmx race
I got my first bmx today SO EXCITED
i just bought a frame and all the part on ebay and my dad helped me put it together
👌
I dropped in on a 6ft incline my pedals
Hit the coping lifted my back end up I smacked the ground and it felt like I broke my asshole
im saving up for a cult deovtion 2020
My first drop in was 15.5ft I died
Ben Masterman why?
I tried to drop in to a bowl but it broke into a million pieces
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just subbed!
+Vinny Man thanks bro!
+Vinny Man sure! Anything in particular you want to know?
Aird Bmx yes, bottom bracket things please. Mine are speaking now and I want to fix it.
Oh man when I just think of dropping in I all most pee myself haha
Edit) omg thank you for liking my comment
He siked you
Anyone here who goes to palmerston north skatepark
My first drop was like 25 feet it was sooo big
So you dropped in a mega ramp (like In the xgames) quarter pipe your first time. Gotcha
*doubt*
Umm I fell and I still have the bruise
You would have a broken arm if it was 25 feet...
Well I had a Broken leg than it healed and there is a bruise know

how to drop in: roll over eged and don't die
Thats pretty much how to do it on skateboard
Also have the guts
