Several nights have been spent in the same place. photographing bears and wolverines. On almost every trip, I have been able to photograph these wonderful animals in wonderful light. In about two weeks, go there again, to see if the bears have woken up from their hibernation. Fortunately, there is no distance, only about 200 km. Thanks for the wonderfully made videos.
Amazing, have a great trip and I hope the bears come out for you. You’re very lucky to live in a country with such beautiful nature and wildlife! Thanks for your comment :)
What a great experience. We had the luck to come to the same bearwatching area in August last year. At first we did only a bear watching evening trip in the observation house. But on the second day I spontaneously decided to go also into a hide (no. 19). It was incredible. Although I did not see any wolverine nor fox nor wolf I had two (or even three) different bears until it got dark. In the morning there was no big wildlife there but amazing scenery anyways.
Awesome, I was really hoping for a Wolf as I’ve never seen one but I was still so so happy to see the bears and wolverine and as you said, the scenery is amazing so even when there isn’t wildlife it’s really great!
Incredible experince. I didnt really understand the name of the place you said you were. I have been to Finland twice to visit a friend (before I did wildlife photogrphy) and the city I visited was 4 hours from Kuhmo. That location is also a place you can book hides to photograph bears, wolves and wolverines. That is where I would like to visit next year. Awesome video, looked like you had an amazing time!
Thanks Per, you’re not allowed to talk in the hides which is why I was whispering on the few occasions I did, all my videos have subtitles to help with this and i have a microphone which I wear now so it should be better in my more recent videos. I used canon 5d mark IV and 300mm f2.8 lens, occasionally I had a 2x extender as well.
Wery nice film from you. At what beerhides did you stay? There are a few in Finland and I have visited one but that wasn't the same as you visited. And yes you did pronounce Kopio right. Regards from a Swedish speaking Finn.
It was quite nice, usually a soup with bread and then something like chicken, veg and potato, salad etc. breakfast would be toast, fruit, eggs etc. then you get a sandwich to take to the hides and usually people sleep throughout the day so no lunch
Wow, fantastic video - looking forward to part 2! Totally took me back to my amazing two nights watching bears and wolves in that area in 2019 🐻 I'll definitely be back again one day!! Which location did you use - I think it was not the same one as I went to but there are several - and do you know if they were providing food for the animals at all? PS. The diver was almost certainly a black-throated diver there near Kuopio..
Thanks Geoff, such an awesome place isn’t it! Been struggling to find the time to finish off part 2 but hopefully will have it out in the next couple of weeks
Always a joy seeing someone who gets so much joy out of something. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Jonathan!

Yeah there are quite a few on the eastern border near Kuhmo, this was close to a place called Vartius
Great video! When you film it? What month, how long was the day? Thank you.
Thank you! I filmed it in June 2022, it never got completely dark but between 23.30 and 2.30 the light was quite low
Great video and experience. Please do not whisper, but talk normally - low if situation so demands. Which gear did you use?

Thank you! It’s called brown bear lodge in Finland
Pure
Great pronunciation of Kuopio.
Thank you!
What was the food like Olly? I'm very keen to visit the same location
It was quite nice, usually a soup with bread and then something like chicken, veg and potato, salad etc. breakfast would be toast, fruit, eggs etc. then you get a sandwich to take to the hides and usually people sleep throughout the day so no lunch
Absolutely amazing!!
About how much does it cost for a week there everything with the hides included?
Thanks! From memory I think around £1200 not including flights or travel

The bear only stays on the other side of the lake, it's very far, right? Or can you get closer? with a 600mm okay?
Sometimes they come closer, I usually used a 300mm and it was nice to get the environment in when they were further away
Hello, do you remember which hide number did you get?
Hi, in this video it was hide 23 and then hide 1. In video part two I stayed in hides 7, 21, 22, 23 again and 16 I think
many thanks... very kind...@@wildlifewitholly
