Had success with filing the teeth to be less sharp. But not flat. Then putting plastidip on them to give them a more rubber type feel and grab the leather like a champ.
I’ve looked at that for mine but it doesn’t seem to pull the leather through as well and didn’t work well for me. I think if you have a motorized walking foot machine and you’re able to use both of your hands to help feed the material then filing the teeth might be a good option. Or if you’re only going to be sewing hard dry leathers that slide easily you might be able to get away with the filed down teeth
I don’t know how many bearings are on this tool. Considering you can buy them for under $200 I expect that if it ever breaks I’ll throw it away and buy another. I do keep a lot more oil on this one than any of my other sewing machines because it does seem to have a lot more wear surfaces. Bought mine on Amazon but they’re also available on eBay and other sites. Make sure to order extra bobbins because they are tiny and you’ll go through a lot if you’re working with heavier thread.
Thanks for the video. Help! I still can't get the bobbin thread to pull up. I sanded the whole bobbin shuttle down. I've watched several videos on how to thread the machine and bobbin. I finally figured that the bobbin thread goes behind the thread spring. Tried several tension options. The bobbin thread still won't pick up. If I hold the bobbin thread slightly then run a cycle through the machine, it brings thread on the other side of the needle. However, it still doesn't pick up the bobbin thread. Any ideas?
I will see if I can upload a video of how I thread the bobbin and the needle and the pick up method. I imagine someone else probably already has a better video out there but I’m happy to put one out if it’s helpful.
Thanks for the video. I need HELP! My walking foot doesn't walk. The upside down U shaped piece barely moves left and right. So I followed that part to the other end, to the base. That arm has very little space from the end to the base. Also, one of those rotating levers at the base doesn't even press against that arm which is part of the U shaped piece. It's like the machine is damaged or I put it together wrong. Are both of these levers supposed to touch a metal arm?
By no means, am I an expert . I know there are some very good videos on UA-cam showing the assembly as well as some troubleshooting. You might look for how to adjust the stitch spacing because that may be the adjustment is not allowing the foot to walk much, if any.
@@Holdmylager I figured it out. I thought the base of that thread-length screw should always touch the metal frame. Having the end pressed against the metal frame meant it will be a very tight stitch which would make it appear as if the walking-foot isn't working. Once I adjusted the crew it works just fine. I love this machine because I can draw designs on the leather and easily stitch it. Thanks for the video and your reply.
It worked. I lowered the needle to point I can feel the tip through that hole under the bobbin shuttle/casing. It picked up the bobbin thread. Thanks so much.

I have seen other videos where they recommend filing down the teeth a little on the walking foot to avoid damaging the leather.

How many bearings I seen 4 8 and 10 I believe. Not sure which one I should get. I won't be doing too heavy sewing

Just received my machine , what thread and needles are you using ?
N66 and 207 thread. I’m not sure what size needle we have on machine. I don’t think you’ve ever changed it from what came with it
@@Holdmylager thank you
U can run 207 on top and 138 on bottom with a size 22
Thank you
Как такой ровный шов, получился?))
Looks great.
will it sew 1/4 leather for pistol holster
I think it might be able to handle it, but it would be pushing the capabilities of this machine
