This game has been made in 2008 on ps3 and still looks way better than the actual tennis games produced in 2018 on ps4. How is this even possible :(
You should compare AO to Virtua Tennis 1 and 2 on a Dreamcast that's connected to an EDTV (a TV that support maximum resolutions of 480p (better framerate) or 576p (better picture quality), basically a progressive scan TV) via VGA and TWT to the original Xbox version of Top Spin 1 hooked up via component cables to an HD-ready TV (EDTV but supports HD resolutions, which it downscales) with the 480p video mode turned on (an NTSC console because Microsoft scrapped the HD modes from PAL but kept them on NTSC).

Tennis world tour now seems to be getting there with its latest patch. My guess is that Breakpoint wanted to launch in May of this year with the RG edition as the first edition of the game, but Big Ben pushed them to release it early for May last year and they had to still develop the game while the product was out. Now with the latest patch we are starting to see them enter towards the 70-80 percent completion range, still a lot of things to polish but it's getting there
not to mention the animation! Ao tennis has blocky animations when the player stops or change durection. Dont know how.....
And better than TS4. This game was very good
If this game was released this year, it would still be ahead of its time.

Everyone loves TS4 but this one is actually my favorite. It much more dynamic and realistic. Best tennis game for me it's a shame no one can make a tennis game as good as any Top Spin games.
You are right about the realism here, you could make a lot of errors, the TS4 had improved gameplay but it misses on the unforced error department

Totally agree, Top Spin 3 is the best version… Both are fun though …
The serve looks weird here since there's a moment when the animation stops and then it resumes. The speed of the ball in serves is slow, but general gameplay is more realistic, from ball physics to player movement. At least players don't stand still waiting for the ball like in TS4, they are always moving and signature animations are better as well
Top Spin 3 still holds up pretty well even after all of these years!

This one is the most accurate simulator of Tennis. every bit of footwork/anticipation has to be measured, tactical decisions have to be implemented at the right time, and the risk shots are balanced perfectly.....and.....unforced errors!
I didn't like it at first but stuck with it, its incredible!, TS4 isn't as good, it's too rigid.
My only gripe is the audio on this game, if only it had the great audio work of TS2!

TS3 A.I difficulty and controls with TS4 gameplay and crowd involvement = best tennis game ever (Not making roster because too lazy to write it all in this comment)
I forgot that the serving mechanic was different, hence why I missed the ball a lot lol

It's incredible how you feel the shots in this game, if there's a game that can be better than TP4 on consoles, at least in certain regards, that's TP3. Those moments where the player stands still waiting for the ball (something that never happens irl) aren't so notorious on TP3 because you're constantly charging the shot (and the player moves the racket) before hitting the ball, just why would they remove that for TP4? That simple detail would've made the game look way more realistic
This very hard level it's very hard to beat Roger Federer haven't done it he's got all the shots in this game

Agreed, TS4 has FAR better crowd reactions, more realistic gameplay and better roster including Nadal on all consoles, Djokovic, Serena and a bigger selection of long-retired players despite scrapping Seles but that doesn't mean that much without challenging A.I and total attribute choice with your career XP (which this game has). Not sure about career mode but I need to pull off risk shots perfectly just to stay in the match in custom tournaments!
@@itzhenrythegamerguy4564 I think he was saying TS3 was better overall, I feel the gameplay is a bit better in this one compared to TS4, feels a bit more down to the user to really get to the ball and pick the right shot, I feel TS4 gravitates you more toward the ball and helps you a bit with movement that way

Awful. Looks like two rookies warming up, literally. Very slow shots, players do funny moves due to bad positioning, etc etc.
I very much prefer Tennis Elbow 4 and Full Ace Tennis over this crap.
