  • Paranoid about the rise in popularity of his rivals, Josef Stalin orchestrates the assassination of popular Communist Party leader, Sergey Kirov. Stalin then uses the death of Kirov to coerce his remaining rivals into false confessions of guilt and secure his place as head of the Soviet regime.

    There's an old saying: Don't kill the messenger. Stalin didn't believe in that saying, when he heard something he didn't like he not only killed the messenger, he killed half the messengers family then sent the other half to a Siberian gulag. His philosophy for staying in power was kill anyone who had the stones to take over. Almost all the revolutionaries who aided Lenin in the Soviet takeover he had killed, the advisors who said you can't trust Hitler, he'll screw you over, he had killed. When Hitler screwed him over, all the advisors who said you could trust Hitler, he had them killed. All the Generals who could effectively command troops (like Kirov), they got killed too. In the end when Hitler made his move all Stalin had was a bunch of ineffectual yes-men and paper-pushers too afraid to take any initiative.

    This is what all communist regimes did, not just Stalin's. I'm from Romania and I can tell you that some of the most fanatic communist figures in Romania from the 1950s ended up in jail and executed. Communism starts with a, inside fighting for power, not the "class struggle". The class struggle starts after the fight for power is concluded.

    • @larryhall2805
      @larryhall2805 2 роки тому

      I sympathize with your view, but that did not happen to the large communist parties of Italy and France. Of course, those never gained real power.

      @@larryhall2805 I was talking about communist REGIMES, not parties... Regarding the Italian communist party though, well, here's what its leader, Antonio Gramsci said in 1915, two years before communism was implemented anywhere in the world: "We will never conquer this world if we don't destroy two fundamental institutions: Family and Church. We will always count on minorities, regardless of their nature, racial or sexual, to win the fight". This was 2 years before communism was implemented anywhere in the world. And I think it shows clearly just how Italy would've turned out if they had a commie regime... It also makes things far more clearer when you look at the moral degeneracy and insanity in the US society, doesn't it?

    • @larryhall2805
      @larryhall2805 2 роки тому

      @@JDA2185 No. I only partially agree with you. I believe ANY kind of totalitarianism leads to injustice, brutality and more of the same when the inevitable back lash occurs.
      By moral degeneracy do you mean what we do with our sexual organs or do you mean how we treat our fellow human beings?
      Of the latter humanity has been failing miserably from the dawn of time in spite of teachers who turn up from time to time to save us from ourselves.

    • @JDA2185
      @JDA2185 2 роки тому

      @UnusualBug LOL. Communism in the west is actually implemented more faithfully than it was in the east at least from one point of view: the moral degeneracy. And THAT is actually the essence of Marxism pal. Also, the entire west has major communist movements, basically the entire west has been thoroughly communized with over 46% of youngsters in America believing that socialism is a better system than capitalism. THAT's communization and a communist movement.

    • @JDA2185
      @JDA2185 2 роки тому

      @UnusualBug :))))))) Aaaah, yes... The old and most pathetic and laughable attempt to separate communism from "stalinism". Pal, "stalinism" WAS communism and, believe it or not it wasn't even as bad as Karl Marx said communism should be. Pal, genocide - the so-called "war of the classes" - is basically the cornerstone of communism. Marx clearly stated in his BS "communist manifesto" that anywhere socialism is attempted it must start with the "war of the classes"... That idea is pure genocide, period! And that's simply what Stalin did. Basically he just followed Marx's teaching as closely as he could. And I honestly believe he made Marx very proud... Communism is totalitarianism AND GENOCIDE. Totalitarianism due to the fact that it's entirely dependent on an economic system 100% controlled and owned by the state (the essence of totalitarianism) and genocidal because of that "war of the classes" concept to which Marx dedicated A LOT MORE time to develop than to his BS better alternative to capitalism. Which he never explained in any kind of detail. Basically he just told the most inept and lowest elements of a society that they deserved what they never worked for...

    This is what they don't want you to talk about in the University of Essex and London Met common rooms. I will ask why the hammer and sickle isn't considered to be just as offensive (if not more) as the swastika?

    • @whatever7645
      @whatever7645 4 роки тому +11

      Michael Curtis Because the Swastika was responsible for starting WW2 and causing dozens of millions of death be it through massacres, casualties in WW2 and concentration camps. While the socialist system of the USSR saved millions from poverty, turned a country with less than 30% literate people into a superpower with more than 95% literate, got the life expectancy of its citizens to reach Western standards within decades, provided free healthcare, housing, education, guaranteed jobs for everyone, launched the first satellite, sent the first man into space, instituted full equality for all races and genders, liberated millions from the terror of the nazi regime, while capitalism stills kills 20 million every year due to lack of clean drinking water or easily preventible diseases.
      Am I saying no innocents was ever killed by the Soviet government? No. During the great purge many were executed due to just suspicions or because of the plan of NKVD chief Nikolai Yezhov to create internal chaos. All in all the sickle and hammer is better than the swastika and it is not as offensive because it’s ideals are equality unlike the swastika which believes that everyone else is subhuman.
      Oh and the hammer and sickle has much better music.

    I once saw footage of a group of ISIS fighters who had a man on his knees who was a Christian. (or at least he was considered one at that moment). The video showed one of the fighters demand that he become a Muslim or he would be killed. In order to buy himself a few extra years, months, days, minutes of precious life he forsook his faith and said the "oath" or whatever and then right after that another guy came up behind him and sawed his head off with a huge machete. The prevailing narrative today with things like "Game of Thrones" and "House of Cards" is to play the game and say what it takes to win. I say don't compromise who you truly are for politics you die when you die and nothing can stop it.

    Putting Gaddafi in this list is stupid. He did some bad things from a Western point of view, but he was allied with the Soviets and Palestinians. There's no proof that he even ordered the Lockerbie bombing.
    He wasn't an angel but he's not much different from Fidel Castro, Erdogan, Putin, Yasser Arafat, Mubarak, or even Bibi Netanyahu. He was a very mild authoritarian if that.
    In fact George Bush went out of his way to have a rapprochement with Gaddafi, who created the best most advanced state in Africa that Hillary Clinton stupidly blew up. Gaddafi was actually our ally after 9/11. And Nelson Mandela famously had a great relationship with Gaddafi.
