No I don't think so, he sounds sharp on the first line of the song, it clashes with the piano chord. He sings better than I ever could in a lifetime but what I'm just saying you can really hear it on the first rising up, they should have punched that in.

The fact that he sang those high notes all powerfully with grit yet still relaxed in full voice is amazing.
Unfortunately the original singer developed polyps in his chords and had to quit the band, and after that, never really recovered.

David Bickler sang this song. You have pictured a later line-up with vocalist Jimi Jamison (second from right). The only guy on this recording is the only member of Survivor not in the picture.

Seems that how this band was chosen and damn if it wasn't the perfect track not only for the movie, but a timeless hit.
Sucks their have been 2 other lead singers since this guy and he's rarely in any performances of this online. The other guy sounded VERY similar tho.
Dave Bickler (not in this picture) is the original singer here in this audio and co founder of Survivor. None of the band members were ever related to Stallone. Bickler is a true tenor whose singing style was soulful with the grittiness of a rock singer when he needed to add that element. Complete different in tone and annunciation compared to the baritone second singer (Jamison) here in this pic, whose singing style was straight out stadium rock. Bickler obviously had a far wider vocal range. You'll find Bickler isolated vocals are heavily used over 80s and modern RnB tracks in mashups.
