I wonder if it's as easy to enter Russia covertly as it is to enter Europe? I doubt it. Those that are foisting this open borders policy on us have a lot to answer for.

@@KenFullmanIt used to be risky, but Russian borders leak like a sieve nowadays. Most of the border control personnel have been pulled out to bolster troop numbers. If you'd really want to, you could just hike in from a baltic state.
Or even easier, through Finland. There's nothing but forest for hundreds of miles between the countries, you can cross the border accidentally, which has happened, without anyone noticing.
Paul, thank you for the work you do, and watch out for umbrellas.

Yeah I just put up my own comment saying essentially the same thing. I listen to "Ukraine: The Latest" all the time. If I'm knowledgeable about this conflict at all, it's because of that podcast, Paul's work here, and Ukrainian UA-camr Mariia Veschunova, who does excellent daily breakdowns of the frontlines.
So I'm very grateful for the work Knowles did. It makes me sad. He seemed like a good man.
People die. He may have had undiagnosed congenital issues, or God knows what. I'm not going to immediately assume the putinist entity was behind this, but we all know how they do things. There needs to be a thorough, professional, objective investigation, beyond the _usual_ death investigation.
And then the goal needs to be the truth, not pinning it on the people we despise.

yeaah! he spoke so disinctively as he did the intro/outtake-- such a bright man, jesus effing christ, what a loss! I'm telling ya'll, he had a very rare show and audience in UK/elsewhere, bcuz was Telegraph. The Ru's know there are few conservative-orientated outfits with shows like that, in fact it was the ONLY one to my knowlede in the english speaking world! So, seriously folks, this IS highly suspicious, especially the timing and the location. Gibraltar is in a very very special geographical spot, being a hop from africa and surrounded by water and having ships dock all the time. Plus, though not Spain technically it's largely affected by Spain's security which has been THE worst in europe by far since 911. This has to be looked at closely. This type of location is exactly where the russians and criminals are, and choosing a location other than the UK proper/mainland is exactly how the russians think in their over-analytical style of petty-antics and petty-strategizing. Btw russia needs pounding soon, based on their increased aggression in /at Nato borders/properties/lands.!!!!!!!!!

Before the full scale invasion, most Americans and Westerners saw the conflict in the same importance and regularity as the Myanmar Civil War or Sudanese Civil War today. When that conflict had as little personal impact versus rising prices, domestic polarization, centralization of the internet, institutional decay etc. then a strong "traditional" alternative to Western leaders is respected.

And it’s been in the news that the Kremlin is increasingly reaching out to non-Russian organized crime groups to carry out operations on foreign soil. In those cases the organized crime perps might not even know who they’re working for. In your case, you might need to be looking out for non-Russians coming after you.

In general I dislike the telegraph intensely it's a viscerally rightwing outlet
but the telegraph Ukraine Podcast is absolutely first class. Listened to it every day in the first year of the war
I am sorry to hear about David Knowles

@@jamesrowland2038 Yes I have the same view of them. David, Dom, Francis, and others made for an incredible team and podcast.
Listening to it you get the sense they are very objective and thorough in their reporting, unlike most of what comes from the Telegraph. Also all of them also seem like great people who really do this because it is important to them on a personal level.

Hey. I listen to the Telegraph UK - Ukraine every day. It hit me pretty hard when I listened on September 9th. I've never seen any of them before but I shed tears for them. I appreciate good, solid, trustworthy journalists. I always learn something new after listening to them. I'm a political & military news nerd. I'm writing this before watching your video. I don't know what happened to him except what the guys said on Monday which was he had a medical emergency he was 32. I'm glad to hear you like them too. As the saying goes, bird's of a feather, stick together. I recently came across your videos on UA-cam & have been watching them. I like your commentary on different subjects so, thank you for doing what you do. There's a lot of us out here that have a hunger for trusted news sources. Again, thank you, & thanks for doing this video on David Knowles!!

FWIW I was in Ukraine in August 2024. I spoke to a Ukrainian UA-camr who is very active in supporting Ukraine. He mentioned that informally that he and his colleagues knew of a new strategy of the FSB to “eliminate” voices like his. It wasn’t a joke and he was taking it seriously.

There are a lot of Russians in Southern Spain, so much Russian money was laundered there in building projects before Spain joined the EU. The year I moved to Marbella, there were several Russians gunned down in the streets, supposedly 'Russian mafia' executions. So, if you needed a hit in that part of the world, you would not need to look far.

The podcast is incredible and informing and I’ve listened to it religiously since its inception. David Knowles voice was iconic and led the intro to every episode and he will be sorely missed. The world lost another good soul that’s irreplaceable a tragedy all too common since the roaches from Russia started this war.

UK, the latest is one of the most substantial regular updates on all aspects of the Ukraine-Russo war. Dom is prior service in the British military, and Francis is an established political analyst. David was the Jounalist. The three give a very detailed overview and have guests that bring personal insight. This is a loss for all of us. The style of reporting he and his cohorts were employing was very real and not about hyped news.

So certainly possible, that it may be nothing to do with Putler. However......on the other hand it certainly is suspicious, given that various Russians has called for the death of pro Ukraine milbloggers.

I listen to them almost every day, it had a lot of great content not limited to war alone. They would interview people who set up things like shelters etc for pets, a prominent Ukrainian journalist who discussed and went over Ukrainian books and literature. They had stories discussing the victims of bucha. Basically its a top notch show that brings the entirety of ukraine to the forefront and not just the war updates. I encourage everyone to listen.

My daily Ukraine routine (at minimum): Ukraine the Latest, Denys Davydov, Combat Veteran Reacts. Among these Ukraine the Latest is quite unique as it is ran by world class professional journalists and releases every weekday 30 to 60 minutes of fresh quality content with original interviews and even on-site visits. Highly recommended! Very sad to hear David Knowles is gone, but I hope his and our cause carries on stronger than ever. You know you've done something right in your life when you're named enemy of the Russian Federation for your work. To me his death just made my commitment to Ukraine's freedom even stronger than ever. Slava Ukraini, Glory to heroes.
