The route, for the most part, looks accurate, but the amount of passager amtrak trains you see are way too much. Most of the trains that run there are from other Agencies, Metro-North, Long Island Railroad, and New Jersey Transit, but their trains are not places on this map. As for the train, you're driving, it's the only loco that runs on this route (excluding the one from Acela) . As for the viaduct yes it's real.
Qwerty, For some interesting facts on the Siemens ACS-64 electric Locomotive, Siemens is based off of their ACS-64 electric locomotive is based off of the EuroSprinter. Also, in terms of comparing the actual route in real life, there was a few things that different: On the normal consist of the Amtrak Northeast Regional goes as follows: - ACS-64 - 4 coach Class cars - 1 Cafe Food Service Car - 2 Coach Class Cars - 1 Business Class Car (Sometimes the consist is reversed after the locomotive where the if would also be the following) - ACS-64 - 1 business class car - 2 coach class cars - 1 Cafe Food Service Car - 4 Coach Class Cars Some of the speed limits aren't the same as the actual route Seats within the coach and business class interiors are a bit lower than the actual seats Similar to the other passenger interiors, there is no seat signs such as in the amfleet interiors with seat numbers and if it was a aisle and window seat. The doors within the passenger cabins of the coaches should automatically close as they do on the GWR HST coaches In the Hudson River Tunnel between New York Penn Station and Secacus does not have any curves within the tunnels. In the section around Newark Penn Station and Harrison, there is missing the 3rd rail from the PATH Subway though that might be related to since 3rd rail content hasn't been made for Train Sim World currently. Currently, here is some of the missing trains in the actual route: Amtrak: (Intercity Rail similar to Virgin Trains) Locomotives: Acela Express (Whole Route from Boston Massachusetts all the way to Washington D.C) GE P32AC (Hybrid 3rd Rail and Diesel Powered Locomotive) Bombardier HHP-8 (Electric Overhead Powered Locomotive, will soon be completely out of service) Rolling Stock Amfleet II (Long Distance Route coach and business class cars) Viewliner II (Sleeper Car) Viewliner Dining Car (Long Distance routes) CAF Baggage Car (Long Distance Routes) Ex-metroliner (Cab car utilized on the Amtrak Keystone Route, consist of ACS-64 - 4 Amfleet 1 Coach Cars - 1 ex-metroliner Cab Car) New Jersey Transit: (Commuter Rail Similar to Southwest Trains) Primarily Originating from New York Penn Station to points south with the exception the Football Train from New Haven, CT all the way to New York Penn Station Locomotives: ALP-46 (Electric) ALP45DP(Hybrid Electric overheard power/Diesel) Arrow III (Electric EMU Overhead Powered) Rolling Stock: Comet IIB-V (Single Level Coach and cab cars) Bombardier Multilevel (Bi-Level Coach and Cab Cars) Long Island Railraod (Commuter Rail) Primarily originating out of New York Penn Station to service points East not including towards New Rochelle Station. Bombardier M7 (Electric EMU 3rd Rail Powered) Bombardier M3 (Electric EMU 3rd Rail Powered) EMD DM30AC (Hybrid Electric 3rd Rail and Diesel Powered Locomotive) C3 Bilevel (Bi level Coach and Cab Cars) As for some other interesting facts: The section of the route where you were wondering that something was going on with the throttle of the route, in real life, there is something called a Dead Zone where the it has something to do with the power changing voltages. The high Viaduct bridge is that way in real life, called Hell's Gate, it is fantastic especially seeing the New York City Skyline from the bridge. The massive area that you passed before entering the tunnel is the Sunnyside Rail Yard where Amtrak and New Jersey Transit Store their trains or service them. New York Penn Station: There is approximately over 1,200 trains on a normal weekday that service New York Penn Station between Amtrak, New Jersey Transit, and the Long Island Railroad. New York Penn Station by the number is considered the most busiest passenger rail station in the US with the number of boarding and Arrivals. Amtrak and New Jersey Transit share tracks 1-12 Long Island Railroad have tracks 17-21 exclusively Tracks 13-16 are shared by all three railroads Due to the ventilation within the platforms at New York Penn Station, only electric trains are permitted or the hybrid trains have to go into electric. Also that rule is enforced by the US government by law as well. There is 24 hours/7 days a week rail service out of New York Penn Station It is connected by 6 subways serving New York City with the 1,2,3,A,C,E Lines. Above the Station, is located the Madison Square Arena and Accessible from within the station East River and Hudson River Tunnels have both been around since the construction of the Original New York Penn Station around the early 1900s. Also based on some things that I have heard from the DTG forums, that the route NEC:New York route will be expanded in the future. One of the next DLC was also hinted by DTG being a GWR expansion or separate DLC on the forums. They are currently working on 2 DLC based on what Matt Peddlesden said on a stream a few days ago.
Yay Qwerty is back. Hope you've been well. Thanks for covering this. Always nice seeing my state featured in videos. For me personally I don't use Amtrack since I live in Brooklyn so I basically take the subway but Penn Station is along the route everyday when I go to school. I once went down to the platforms where these trains were since I took a wrong turn at Penn Station looking for the exit lol
It’s one of only two trains that operate on this route in real life - this one and the Acela Express. The one in the really old nec route was phased out and replaced by these trains.
The thing with NEC and rapid transit is that you realy need to turn the volume up high to hear all the sounds. The doors have sounds but they are marginal compared to the sounds from the loco. So don't turn your volume up until you hear the loco, turn it up till the sounds from the loco are realy loud, then you will hear the doors. If the loco sounds as much as in real life, the doors will sound as much as in real life.
The reason for the low density of AI trains is because DTG only simulated Northeast Regional trains. In reality the Acela and a few other trains run on the Eastern part. In the Western part of the route, runs Acelas, Amtrak long distance trains, and New Jersey transit commuter trains.
It’s hard not to agree with this statement, I think time is the thing we shall need to give dovetail to see what they can do to really solidify this game for people cause currently it really isn’t anything special apart from it looking nicer then the old one
It's quite a shame that Train Sim World's Northeast Corridor only goes from New Rochelle to Newark Airport. In Train Simulator 2018 it goes from New York Penn to Philadelphia (in the NEC New York to Philadelphia route) or from New York Penn to New Haven, including the New Canaan Branch and trackage to GCT. Great video as always, it isn't your fault this line is so bland and short!
Random Railfan It should’ve gone until Boston south station and go past more New England cities like Hartford, Stamford, New Haven, New London, Providence, RI, Springfield, Ma, Worcester, Ma, Framingham, Ma, Route 128 etc. They should also add Boston North Station to Portland Maine. The downeaster basically.
Yeah, a Dovetail-made extension from New Haven to Boston would be great. I would also love to see the Downeaster with NPCUs! I said "Dovetail-made" because someone added an extension to Boston on the Steam Workshop if I'm not mistaken.
This is what happened at 22:30 The od thing with this loco is that if you have the throtel on and use the automatic brake, the engines will be sett to idle but the throtle will remain in position. If you want to ably power again, you need to first move the throtle to idle and then move i forwards. Another tip for this route, play with the safety systems on if you want to keep to the speed limits. The loco will calculate a max speed based opon the distance to the next speed change. This means that speed limits won't suprise you, the train will tell you to slow down in advance . This is very usefull because the speed limit changes so often and so unpredictably that you can't use the next speed limit indicator in the HUD.
That's not really an odd thing about the loco. It's called "Nullstellungszwang" in German (roughly: enforced zero position). Pretty much means that whenever you use the air brakes, the throttle input is cancelled (what makes sense if you don't want to damage the engine) and you can only reapply power, once you have returned the throttle to idle to cancel the traction block. This way you kind of "confirm" that you wish to speed up again... You would not want to release the brakes and have the train speed back up again on it's own. It's standard in all german locos and multiple units, and since this is a Siemens loco, it's probably built into in the real loco as well. Although I assume that this feature is not just standard on German trains, but probably on most modern trains, since it just makes sense...
Yh I didn’t pay to much attention to the hud speed indicator as I was gazing around but I would giving that system a go, how would I activate it on in the loco or doesn’t it work properly yet as someone has commented?
Hi! Yesterday Metro simulator beta 3.14 came out! It has the SG2/1 and MG2/1. Also in Rijndam you can drive Russian and london Trains. Please take a look at it. I loved your Metrosimulator Episodes!
Hi Qwery please have a look at Diesel Railcar Simulator (Steam). Graphically its very simple but the physics and sounds are absolutely top notch. The way the train gently sways while traveling through the country side gives it a certain charm.
yh I have livestreamed it once before and have a video of the stream somewhere unlisted on the channel, yh it would be a good revisit to it with a full dedicated video to it to how it is since I tired it at some point
Unfortunately, the trend with most of Dovetail’s releases in both train sims lately, is that they won’t release many updates to the routes. Apart from some small fixes, what you see is what you get. I have a feeling they are in cost cutting mode with the cancellation of flight sim world and the TSW DLC’s seem to be getting smaller with less polish. Not releasing an editor ensures that, if you want more content, you have to pay for their DLC’s. This model only works at the moment because there are no other large scale train simulators out there to give them competition.
Nice vid. Rapid transit has a couple of really nice looking underground stations. the New York route is ok its a bit meh with just one type of passenger train.
I was a bit afraid to watch this because of your views on American content. I was actually surprised with your positive reactions. I do have a point to make to you. When yo play in Service mode, be sure to pick a service that DOES NOT have Secaucus in it, because that is not an Amtrak stop. There are more stations south of New York Penn, in New Jersey.
I’ll keep that in mind but again I am surprised how short the route is, like I did most the route in the video. Hopefully more stopping parts in the southern parts after New York penn
i have request video , hopefully you can make it , can you make another omsi video using the setra s 319 ul , but this time in manual mode , thank you very much , maraming salamat (tagalog or filipino language)

thanks for the read
They should add Metro North and NJ Transit routes since they got some of the stations there already
M3lgar 5 yesssss
I love this. So happy with your return! :))
That intro will never get old. Loving the content return. Really miss the omsi videos.

Still suffers from traffic density issue cause I am sure near the New York penn area there would be all of traffic but that’s fine otherwise
The thing with NEC and rapid transit is that you realy need to turn the volume up high to hear all the sounds. The doors have sounds but they are marginal compared to the sounds from the loco. The thing is US stations do have destination boards but dovetail doesn't add them in TSW or the original TS
This game has so much potential but only with the right developer and I don't think dovetail is the right developer
It’s hard not to agree with this statement, I think time is the thing we shall need to give dovetail to see what they can do to really solidify this game for people cause currently it really isn’t anything special apart from it looking nicer then the old one
Where is the door close button ?

True, but those systems aren't working properly yet. They are being fixed.

QwertyAfro There are switches on the back wall. ATC, ACSES, Alerter.
Good to see you back buddy...UA-cam is a better place with you in it :-)
You should do a review of the AP class 319 Pack and the DTG class 390
And even the 315 pack
hey men welcome back , so nice to watch your videos
