Great to see GVG's own spiritual successor of Cool Bits. It has been a long time. And it's neat that there's more than just one game presented in one video. So it's kinda like GVG's version of DYKG Extra.
Another indicator that the levels in Sonic Adventure were meant to be "broken" are the time trial medals which partially require you to exploit some of the level skips to reach the goals in time.
It's so insane to see that the Dreamcast was still receiving games in 2004 and with such a special detail, it makes me think about the potential that the console had, a shame it had such a short life.
Thing about RE4, if you manage to get out of bounds on bunch of maps, you can find lots of interesting items left by the devs in singular spots. For instance if you clip out of farm map right after first village fight (they did patch out method by clipping through a fence hop in modern releases), you'll find bunch of herbs, nades, mine launcher ammo, dirty pendant and a shotgun... only that shotgun is for Ada for some reason. My best guess is they just left bunch of gold too close to the wall and people can pick it up.
I love getting to know these small little niche interesting bits of information, it actually suprised me that i didnt know about that SM64 extra life and lava jump secret that was super cool. Looking forward to vibing more with this series.
The wii u noises are for splatoon 3 are also in 2, specifically at the end of octo expansion where agent 8 emerges on tbe surface, it plays the little beep boops when the wii u logo would appear on screen
At this point it's common knowledge that you can boost Luigi's walking speed by "vectoring" in Super Mario 3D Land and 3D World, though it can be harder to pull off on 3DS as the trick only works in mid-air and your current speed is capped all the way back to your normal top running speed whenever you jump. HOWEVER, a couple months back, while i was trying to get a faster clear time in World 1-3 i found out that for some reason that momentum can still carry over to your jumps, but ONLY after getting a star until the invincibility wears off. So my guess is that it may have sth to do with Luigi's spin jump since it's the only jumping animation in the whole game that doesn't keep your top speed locked
the jyunen hayai dayo thing, while probably a reference in this context, it's not NECESSARILY one. it's a pretty common insult to one's ability in japanese
This was awesome to watch! :) This is the first video I've seen from you, it leaves a very good impression. Excellent pacing. Clean editing. Relatable dialogue. Keep it up!
Love that cool bits is coming back! One thing I’d recommend / love to see is just chapters through the video to skip around. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Great video Jon - great timing too after DYKG just finished publishing their shorter form content. I think the title does this a disservice as the start of a new series though and deserves more views, I'm not particularly a Splatoon fan and almost didn't click!
The Adventure games have rewards in crazy places. If you proceed through the first section of Crazy Gadget while upside down from the first gravity switch, then entering the first warp tube will spit you out right on an otherwise inaccessible extra life. My mind was blown when I saw that.
I already knew the SM64 bit, but they removed it in the DS game, making it seem unintentional. It would’ve been cool if there was something designed for it.
I love when developers... Like sonic team really understood game's mechanics perfectly and put "ha! You've found out too! Congratulations!" Moment in their game. Recently, Mario Odyssey's secret places....and whole sonic frontiers.
And here I thought I wouldn’t learn another new thing about Paper Mario! Hopefully you manage to do the same with Paper Mario TTYD someday. THE DREAMCAST IS REEEAL
10:07 I completely imagine this was found bc someone got distracted and let the game wait for them to press A lol. I did that so long the other day when the urge to clean up struck me haha midst P5R
Great finds! I don't know any of them but they're actually very interesting, instead of just being something not many would know because it's... unimportant. Also love the tests put into it like the Resident Evil one. :D
Honestly... I am shocked by that hidden one up... I mean the lava bounce too obviously but the hidden one up... Question though, are you taking suggestions for these 8 bits? Not that I have any off the top of my head but I know that the community will likely have many sugestions that are great.
It'll get amplified and create an American underperformed Nintendo console echo chamber when the American kids who grew up with it become big gaming UA-camrs like what happened with N64 and GameCube.
The GBA and DS versions of Puyo Fever feel better than the GameCube and PS2 versions - there's something off about the controls on GC and PS2 that makes things feel a little delayed or something, I dunno. It doesn't feel "right". I wanted to try the PSP version to see how it compared, but I have bought the game from eBay twice, and both times the UMD plastic case was broken, and the PSP couldn't get the disc spinning... I didn't feel like buying it for a third time (but maybe I will in the future). Maybe if I ever get a Dreamcast, I can try out this version of Puyo Fever too! (btw the old Windows XP version of Puyo Fever is pretty good - you can find it on various abandonware sites if you are so inclined)
If there's more of this coming, then I'm quite happy about that
Episode 2 is being worked on by Derrick
So is this the new version of Cool Bits?
If so I am all aboard it :)

That last Dreamcast entry just blew my mind
I had missed Cool Bits from the GX days so I'm glad to see them return
11:27 evokes very particular imagery in my mind
Another indicator that the levels in Sonic Adventure were meant to be "broken" are the time trial medals which partially require you to exploit some of the level skips to reach the goals in time.

This is great, I only knew half of it. The more I learn about RE4 the more I appreciate it. The legend status it has is still growing.
This channel feels more and more like a spiritual successor to GX. Very cool!
11:28 THE DREAMCAST… THE DREAMCAST IS REAL
Awesome! I love the short-form random content that you guys did back in the GX era, this really seems like the best of that in a new great series!
This was honestly a really cool video! I didn’t know a single of of these facts, and I cannot wait to see more from this series in the future!
That Dreamcast one is wild. Almost felt like Sega was like "whatever, let's just put this game on Dreamcast and let it manipulate the menu"
Crazy a single game allows you to change an entire system. That game is a must need for Dreamcast owners

Regarding the lava bounce in Super Mario 64, the same can also be used to hop across quicksand!
Oh my gosh there were 8 different bits in this episode! Clever! Love this first episode so much!!
I love getting to know these small little niche interesting bits of information, it actually suprised me that i didnt know about that SM64 extra life and lava jump secret that was super cool.
Looking forward to vibing more with this series.
So cool to see this series come back in a neat way!
Let's see how much time they can stick to it...
I KNEW NONE OF THESE I LOVE YOU JON!!!!! Although I did kinda notice the wii u easter egg when I played Sploon 3.
The wii u noises are for splatoon 3 are also in 2, specifically at the end of octo expansion where agent 8 emerges on tbe surface, it plays the little beep boops when the wii u logo would appear on screen

CAN WE GET MUCH HIGHER!!!??
SO HIIIGH
I love how this is brand new like Cool Bits!
Great video Jon - great timing too after DYKG just finished publishing their shorter form content. I think the title does this a disservice as the start of a new series though and deserves more views, I'm not particularly a Splatoon fan and almost didn't click!
I hope you guys bring back stuff like the SuperScope that John used to host. Loved all his segments on previous channels

The Dreamcast....
THE DREAMCAST IS REAAAAALLLLLLL!!!
YESSSS love to see this show finally debut, great job Jon and team!
Cool, I didn't know any of this stuff
Cool bits! When the world needed it most, it returned.
the best is the puyo easily here. a true last gift from devs that may have had too much time xD
Love how the whole Sonic Adventure section is just Jon justifying the importance of momentum in Sonic games.
well, based on what Justin showed in the Sonic official stream, the memo has been read & we got Terrain Physics
Really enjoyed this episode so I'm looking forward to more in this series in the future!

A new series? From GVG? I am always down for this 🤩
Amitie: "GET REAL!"
Dreamcast Menu: "Sure."
And here I thought I wouldn’t learn another new thing about Paper Mario! Hopefully you manage to do the same with Paper Mario TTYD someday.
THE DREAMCAST IS REEEAL
"NO don't leave yet!!" I found that so funny for no apparent reason
Those eight bits were all pretty… cool
Amirite
11:27 THE DREAM CAST... THE DREAM CAST IS REALLLLLLL
Some good bits. The Mario 64 one is pretty crazy, I never even knew about that move.
The last one was very very cool as a Puyo Puyo fan.
Puyo Puyo Fever was one of only four games that released on the Dreamcast, Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox.
That's a very cool.. uh eight bit!
people often forget Sonic games since the very begining are built with Speedrunning & Exploiting in mind, the Jank is both a bug AND a feature
also i had no idea that's what the Bayonetta voice line was refering
My favorite UA-cam hobby is seeing a thumbnail or title and immediately know it's Jon
I love these 8-bits!
10:07 I completely imagine this was found bc someone got distracted and let the game wait for them to press A lol. I did that so long the other day when the urge to clean up struck me haha midst P5R
I always wondered where _/)$&_ Bits went on the old channel. Nice to see they're back!
Great finds! I don't know any of them but they're actually very interesting, instead of just being something not many would know because it's... unimportant. Also love the tests put into it like the Resident Evil one. :D
I knew about the SM64 one because it's used a bunch in the A Button Challenge, lol
6:59 for what you’re actually here for
7:01 what y'all came for
Oh this was slick, I like this series!
Never knew Mario's cheeks were lava resistant...
These were great! The only one I actually knew about was the secret Peach theme. It was cool cuz I came across it all on my own.
5:03 kick jump? Thats a slide kick
Honestly... I am shocked by that hidden one up... I mean the lava bounce too obviously but the hidden one up...
Question though, are you taking suggestions for these 8 bits? Not that I have any off the top of my head but I know that the community will likely have many sugestions that are great.
Akira really is the Sega Crossover man
THE DREAMCAST IS REAL!!!!
Maximillian is gonna be happy with that Bayonneta bit
More videos like this. Also - get more GVG members on board. All content feels very isolated.
10:00 Chugga in the mud!
Wow! These sure are some cool bits!
Wii u is finally getting the attention it deserves
It'll get amplified and create an American underperformed Nintendo console echo chamber when the American kids who grew up with it become big gaming UA-camrs like what happened with N64 and GameCube.
Wow these are actually good secrets I can’t wait for more!
Oh hey, a resurrected series.
-I hope it won't devolve into an annual show too.-
This is great! Love to see more.
The Dreamcast was way ahead of its time.
I'm gonna be so filled up with gaming facts.
new cool bits spiritual successor just dropped
THE DREAMCAST..... THE DREAMCAST IS REAAAAAAAAAL!!!
Yes! I'd love more if this content!
I loved this :D can't wait to see more, even if I know some that's ok!
Still more BOTW facts! I love it!!
Mr. John! This is what we all want 😭💖
based Wii U
the spiritual successor to cool bits
These 8 bits are very cool
Huh, I knew blue fire could ignite bombs, but not the other ancient technology
You all are most definitely NOT bozos, Jon.
This was super cool
Share this video with 5 with your friends or else the Dreamcast will become REAL!
Super interesting series!!!
8 bits from poppilar and maybe not so poppilar games
Love this
This was neat!
9:40 WTF? WHY DID YOU OMITED THIS FOR ME CHUGGAACONROY?
The GBA and DS versions of Puyo Fever feel better than the GameCube and PS2 versions - there's something off about the controls on GC and PS2 that makes things feel a little delayed or something, I dunno. It doesn't feel "right".

Always making me happy keep on making those videos🙂🙂🙂🎇🎆✨️🎇✨️🎇✨️🎆✨️
I always assumed that Bayonetta line was just the demonic language 🧍♂️
I wanted to make a video on the splatoon one but I didn’t wanna restart the campaign 😢 in retrospect I should’ve just made another account but oops
I miss wii u❤
THE DREAMCAST IS REAL
I enjoyed this
