I’ll go on to say in the ‘90s, if there wasn’t a lot of promo shots of the band members, , and the music really spoke for itself, a bit of misery surrounded the band- and this was certainly the case of MA. Tricky really rode this out further in his solo tour after MA, when he really didn’t promote his own image, and didn’t even face the audience for the whole performance. Since his ideas have been used, but at the Time Tricky kind of invented Trip Hop, a very groove oriented hip hop that warranted a new Genre name. I saw him in Mpls and an air of mystique lingered about the show, where you knew it was gonna be cool, but also not sure what it might entail. Besides the cool music, it made for a unique feeling experience, at the time,

Just seems to me that this song is perfect for making love? That tune, that rhythm and so much passion... so sensual... Two stranger paths meet each other in this cold and cruel world. They are so lonely and vulnerable but they don't want to be. They just want to love and be loved - even if only for a short time.

That Billy Cobhan - "Stratus" groove sets this song apart.

If you like the Bass and Drums in this tune, check out the original from Billy Cobham - Stratus, and his Reflex Revision of it. Also the covers from Prince and Jeff Beck. Billy Cobham releases Stratus in the mid seventies. Just shows how timeless Fusion Jazz really is! I seen Billy many time playing in my home country Switzerland at the Montreux Jazz Festival. Billy lives in Switzerland for many years. Can’t wait to go back to the festival when this stupid Covit crap is over!
