  • Ep. 9 - I discuss about using corticosteroids (such as prednisone / prednisolone etc.) for asthma exacerbations (flare-ups). Based on a question I received on the UA-cam channel I talk about reasons for using steroids and if this treatment would result in complete improvement of symptoms during a worsening of asthma control. I also explain why the effect of these corticosteroid burst lasts for a while longer than the actual prescribed treatment duration.

As an old man (67), I really appreciate this doctor .I am so comfortable with his insights. And by the way, it lines up well with my pulmonologist. As a sarcoidosis suffering individual, my inhaler steroid makes a world of difference. Thank you Doctor! Much appreciated!

There are so many nasty side effects.
Apart from a lot of weight gain, muscle damage can cause a lot of painful walking difficulties, as well as skin bruising.

Hi Doctor perhaps you can help me. I think I have silent gerd... Acid reflux for I only wheeze breathing out. I take anti acid but really didn't do much untill I started on baking soda nose spray and actually drinking it. It gets all the goo out and I m better but still cough throughout the day. When I take 10 mg of Prednisone it immediately works. So like what doctor suggests I stay on for 5 days of minimum amount 10mg. My asthma goes away a couple of days after I stop taking the Prednisone but always comes back in a few days. What should I do? Thank you. Cortisone nose spray also improved my wheezing coughing. Ken
