    Airfix are going for a gap in the 1:35 military vehicle market. Good idea!

      Yeah would seem so, I look forward to seeing what else they have in store but they seem to be following gecko models

      @@scalestuff1066airfix made the mistake a couple years ago promoting their katy and 30cwt truck kits then failed to meet the release date,gecko jumped on the bandwagon and beat airfix to it by a year with the same kits.

      @@historicmilitaria1944 Ahhh now that makes sense, considering the hype that was around both of the kits as well. Can't belive they beat Airfix to it by a whole year though

Thanks for the sub, just bear with the videos, the next couple are better than a couple that follow, as I was still learning . Hope all's well down under and the Aussies aint going to hard on ya ;)

    30cwt stands for 30 hundred weight which is 1 and a half ton

    • @scalestuff1066
      @scalestuff1066  Рік тому

      Thanks for clearing that up, the specs numbers can get really confusing

    Its 30 Hundredweight, not 30 ton, and the red markings are not Russian, they are for the 6th Infantry Division in the Middle East WW2. But the kit looks good and relatively easy to build, a lot less strenuous than the Gecko kit for sure.

      Yeah got that dude, I thought it might have been carrying capacity, cwt,iv herd used for short weight tonne before,but yes looks like a nice build tbh nothing to crazy thanks for the correction, army numbers get confused

    I don't know if it was me but the Cab would not line up with the body and the front wheels did not fit properly, just kept collapsing .A high priced kit for what you get, not even a engine.

      I had a bit of back and forth getting the cab onto the lower cab area,it suddenly went though as I'd dried fitted it a few times,adding the cab to the chassis I didn't have any problems with.I see where your coming from with the engine,I think it's about standard price wise though,but I pre ordered this and got it for 26 quid

      Thank Liam, the main thing I'm concerned by is getting nice straight lines on the camo, might get 3 cans of spray paint and mask them off but unsure to be honest. Hope things your way are going well

      @@scalestuff1066 hey buddy - yeah that’s gonna be tricky, do light colour 1st working up to darkest, I’ve tried something similar on a Sea-king, disaster, but everyday is a school day 🤣👍🏼

    • @scalestuff1066
      @scalestuff1066  Рік тому +1

      Yeah that's a good tip actually thanks for that, I've got a can of tan so be easy to get a start on it, what happened to your sea king? I want to paint on in the rescue colours but I've had so much trouble with yellow paints over the years I tend to try and avoid yellow if I can

      @@scalestuff1066 it’s a very long story - I tried the Norwegian scheme and Humbrol paint was awful, changed back to RAF and then there was an accident - I’ve lost my mojo with🤦🏼‍♂️😐

      Ah just looked that up looks really sharp, Hate them sort, I have a typhoon that the glass and kit came soaked in poly cement, took a month of waiting to get the parts and just no mojo for it anymore was to much trouble

    No engine!? 😢 c'mon Airfix at this scale it needs one.

    • @scalestuff1066
      @scalestuff1066  11 місяців тому +1

      Yeah no engine again, I think with airfix they are just going for what most people will build, shame in a way as with an engine they could compete with offerings like gecko,but I guess it's to keep costs down
