One of the things i've found works for me is something l learned playing Elden Ring. If you're struggling with a boss or a particular area, go explore somewhere else and come back later. I've completed 3 souls-likes at this point (Code Vein, Elden Ring, the Surge) and currently working on Sekiro. That strategy has worked for me in each of those games so far.
Never cared for souls games till elden ring then I played lies of p got hooked instantly I also plan on getting Lords of the fallen. The game looks insane. The graphics are incredible as well as the lighting and colors all that while maintaining a stable 60 gameplay looks great as well.
You're on the path friend, and what a path. I Started back then with Dark Souls 2, but had I happened to start around Elden Ring such as yourself, I would probably do the same at first. I would say these are perfect choices for sure, discovering such games in these times. I'm currently loving and immersed in Lords of the Fallen, just can't get enough of these wonderful games
I started playing souls game 6 months ago, with dark souls 2(dont kill me) and after clocking in 226 hrs i played ds1 then ds3,now im finishing sekiro,i remember trying to play bloodborne 3 years ago,but back then i was a noob and the game violated me.but now im in love with fromsoftwere games and souls likes.
Elden ring was my first souls like which made me comfortable enough to play Wo long fallen dynasty when it came out and I just finished my first playthrough on lies of p and I loved both of them. I’m gonna finish the achievements which involves two more play throughs then looking for another souls like to get into
Thanks for the tips! I got both Mortal Shell and Demon Souls to get started. I've always wanted to play cause these games look epic and amasing, but got pushed away by the dificult. Now it the time, i'm getting in.
Glad to hear it! Patience is key. Each fight is kind of like learning to play a musical instrument, and when you succeed you'll feel similar satisfaction at having learned. Best of luck.
Wow, great vid ! Both of you are super chill and have great podcasting Voices and personalities. I’ve never played a souls like game . I’ll be starting with Mortal shell, thanks !
I always wanted to get into souls types but never did but then did co op with my buddy on remnant 1 and that was my introduction and had fun with that, then he said to try code vein and elden ring, code vein Been fun but elden ring def taking longer to get used to lol.debating trying mortal shell still and would try demon souls but im pc only so ppl recommend dark souls 1 remaster instead.
DS1 is still very good, and much more accessible in terms of boss difficulty than later entries (though there is more obscurity about where to go). Best wishes and enjoy friend
Mortal shell was the absolute worst game I've ever played my entire life! Looks amazing stuck behind the worst gameplay mechanics! No way to heal besides rare rats and some dinky mushrooms so without healing you just don't fight any enemies besides bosses and run past anything. Perry never ever works so you just stand there like an idiot taking lethal damage. And that's your only steady way to heal! Absolute awful game.
I agree I’ve seen a lot of people say it’s good but it sucks it’s one of the most boring games I’ve ever played and there’s only like 3 weapons in the game, just go play a real soulsborne game
I also didn't like this game at all for the reasons you just mentioned. Most other Soulslikes suck as well IMO. Developping such games seems to come with a huge learning curve. From Soft did a lot of things right even with Demon's Souls and they kept improving (with one well-known exception ^^). Team Ninja also did a lot of things right with Nioh but did not improve after Nioh 2.
Yes mortall shell nobody is goung to play another soulslike after that. Bloodborne, ds3, elden ring etc all games are hard at first. Mortalitet Shell is garbage.
Lies of P is a great game, but there’s no way I’d recommend it to a newer person. From midgame on, the bosses are absolutely unforgivable. Finding it harder than any other souls-like I’ve played.
But consumables + summons and the game is extremely manageable, especially considering things like infinite respecs, I think it’s absolutely fine for a new person to the genre

While it’s not a “Souls like” it’s incredibly similar and actually made by From Software and that’s Armored Core 6, amazing game. You should love it.
@@DemonEdge82 yea I hear good things about it

Thank you brother!
Great video! 😊
Soul games alway have there goodness lord of the fallen going to set them apart i just feel it
We hope so too. It is always a great thing when a new studio succeeds, especially in our favorite genre.
