- Resident Evil 4 Remake (RE4) Wave Goodbye, Right Hand Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Defeat the Verdugo. [Bronze]
Chapter 10
You will fight Verdugo at the end of Chapter 10. While fighting him is required, killing him actually isn't in order to progress through the game. For this trophy, however, you will have to kill him. You will have to follow the long corridor until you reach a dead end and enter the room on the right to activate power in the area. Then a new path will open at the dead end leading to a room with another switch, which activates the power support for the elevator you will have to use after defeating Verdugo. When heading towards the room with the switch for the elevator Verdugo will start attacking you from the floor and the ceiling and you will have to dodge his attacks with :circle: .
In the room with the elevator Verdugo will come out of hiding and the fight will begin. In order to defeat Verdugo you will have to activate the switches on the walls which trigger a liquid nitrogen shower. Lure Verdugo into those traps. Once frozen he takes massive damage. Blast him with shotgun shells and grenades. After beating him up a bit he will run away and hide again and you will have to repeat the process. Back in the corridors use the remaining 3 liquid nitrogen showers on him while dodging his attacks. Defeating Verdugo calls the elevator immediately and saves some time over just waiting. Should you not feel comfortable fighting him in later runs, you can dodge, parry and run away from him until the elevator arrives.

If anyone is struggling on this boss here’s a solution, save your game at the merchant’s location prior to the fight, sell all of your jewelry and treasures to buy the rocket launcher, head into the boss fight and kill him with the rocket launcher, after you kill him and the achievement/trophy pops re-load your old save and just run away until the elevator arrives. I literally one shotted him with the rocket launcher.
Thank you! This actually worked. 👍🏼
@marq q excellent idea thank you!!!
doesnt work on hardcore i hit him with RPG and he ran into the vents
*Edit he had to be hit by nitrogen before the RPG for the 1 shot kill.
The original game has the same , but how to kill it without using liquid nitrogen?
I really didn't think he could die in this one and was just time based 😂
Same here, I pumped shot after shot into him after freezing him and it just seemed like nothing was happening
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this
I beat him after dying twice. I had totally forgot about the nitrogen. I thought I was gonna die again because I was basically limping while looking for more nitrogen. Felt really good.
Man, I didn't think this thing could be killed. I just ran away from him all clinched up lol. Sucks that I was too scary to play this when the OG came out this RE hit different.
i just used the rocket on him
Can confirm he can take about 4 rockets without freezing before he dies, on professional at least. Or about 35 handcannon hits
How many if you freeze him
1 rocket to the face while frozen obliterates him.
His weakness on original was explosives and it’s the same here. Without launcher the highest damage you can deal to him is freeze and then heavy grenades. Or if you have the sweeper it stun locks him forever. You can just hold down the fire button until he dies.
I made the mistake of going for body shots more than headshots. Because of his thick shell you’re basically doing zero damage unless you shoot the head. Once you learn to evade and every so often parry his tail attacks when he’s close it isn’t too bad. I did kind of waste the nitrogen traps lol. But I’m proud to say I got him on the first try. Feels like I finally conquered this creature that horrified me so much as a kid. For some reason this fight felt way harder before, might just be the clunky controls of the original and how much harder it is to evade his attacks back then. Just simply having so much more control over Leon in the remake makes everything a hell of a lot easier.
Just for the challenge, i saved before the fight, crafted magnum ammo (20 shots), maxed the butterfly and shot him to death without the nitrogen showers.
You have to remember, that he only gets damage when hit in the face. Oh and flashbangs give you a free roundhousekick.
Then im redoing it again without wasting pesetas and using showers and the shotgun.
I beat him on hardcore rn, it’s possible. Just gotta have a strong enough gun. I killed him with 16 shotguns rounds that has 9.6 damage
And base damage 5 broken butterfly rounds. All while frozen.
You can easily kill him if you go into the boss fight with a fully upgraded pistol of any kind, (Blacktail is best since rate of fire is super high) 70+ handgun ammo with a few grenades.
Obviously try to freeze him to unload on him, if you run out of areas to freeze him that’s where the grenades come in and they deal heavy damage to him.
I got him pretty easily with just the pistol/grenade combo to save ammo on other weapons.
For everyone confused because this guy is probably playing on easy, what I did is just used all of the nitrogen showers and inflicted as much damage as possible until I ran out of shower locations, then he was still alive and I figured he’d eventually die if I just kept damaging him. After shooting him 5 more times in the head with the riot gun and attacking him with the knife once, he finally died. In theory you could probably kill him without using the nitrogen, it would just take a long time. Hope this helps someone
There is a challenge of that. Defeat Verdugo without using any of the cryogen showers
@@junsuiakuma4374 yep, just don't bother on a fresh run because you'd waste your ammo. NG+ is there for a reason.
I’ve spent 2-3 hours on this dude. On assisted. My hang ups are the two achievements “Frugalist” and “minimalist”, which I’m trying to get, as well as not talking to the merchant.
Thank you, sir! Your strategy worked WAY better than this other channel that said "How to beat Verdugo" but ended up being misleading. It just said how TO escape instead of actually beating him. Again...thanks! 🙂
for the records, it took him: 14 shotgun shots, 6 grenades & 1 handgun shot to put the abomination down....n lotsa running ard. ofcourse
Bro it took me 28 shoutgun ammo 1 heavy gernade 14 magnum ammo and about 70 pistol ammo and 1 mine and 1 normal crossbow and 5 knifes to the head and 5 kicks on hardcore💀
Bummer that Capcom had to make this boss exponentially more tankier, used to be so doable on hard back in the day, now on hardcore takes more ammo than I have. Shame, didn't have to be this way, the boss was perfectly balanced back in the day. This is my first playthrough ever of RE4 in which I didn't kill him.
Just like RE3 the original on PS1 the Fight or Flight encounter with Nemesis. If you did enough damage to him on each encounter he'll drop a handgun mod for your handgun. In 3 encounters you'll get everything to fully upgrade your handgun. But if you choose to run you wouldn't get anything.
yeah i remember that.
1st fight- Police Station after Brad's Death: Eagle Parts 1
2nd Fight- In Station with Rocket Launcher: Eagle Parts 2
3rd Fight- For me it was the diner where I first met Carlos : First Aid Pack with 3x First Aid Spray
4th Fight: Shortly After getting the mixed gas and oil bit, i fought him on the way back to Dario's room: Shotgun parts 1
5th Fight: On the way to get the battery from the Mayor statue: Shotgun Parts 2
6th Fight: On top of the clock tower, Choice of using the wire to fry him: First Aid Pack with 3x First Aid Spray
7th Fight: After you cure Jill as Carlos, you have the choice to run or fight him. If you fought him this time and if you haven't completed the game, he drops an Assault Rifle. If you have beat the game, he drops an Infinite Pack for you to turn one gun limitless.First Aid Pack with 3x First Aid SprayFirst Aid Pack with 3x First Aid Spray
Also I revised this since i kinda screwed up a bit of which fight is which but if it feels inaccurate let me know (Editor's Note)
@@ZhaoYun320 I haven't played the original 3 in some time. I just remember he'd drop something every encounter as long as you beat him each time. But I hardly remember any of his drops just the handgun drops. And on the train after your first confrontation with Nemesis there'd be a pouch on one of the seats that'll give you 2 more slots going from 6 to 8 slots. It's one of those things that would be easily missed if one wasn't paying attention.
@@vincentvalentine142 Yeah that one you get when you first meet Mikhail and Nikolai on the train. Carlos gives the 2 item pouch pack after the convo about repairing the Tram to get to the clock tower.
You can somewhat stun lock this guy briefly if you can hit him in the head enough times but fair warning, if you use the melee prompt you'll be out of cryo and forced to fight him while he's unfrozen and it will chew through a large chunk of your ammo.
You get a Gold monocle worth 30k ptas though so the risk isn't without reward.
So glad Moist saw this video when he was trying to see if this boss could even be killed
Ran out of ammo the first time then decided to knife him with the maxed combat knife till he died.
Having played the original, it gave me an advantage of knowing exactly how take him down. Hopefully you have a grenade with you. Freeze him and bombs away. Thank power pyx for the guide.
Flash bangs work too. To get a roundhouse kick. That was my last ditch effort. With low health.
Ummmmm, didn't realise it was a boss when I came across him and just froze him and ran away. It wasn't till reading through the trophy list after completing the game I found this out haha
Same
All good. I didn't kill him too. Thought he was gonna be a boss to fight later or merge with Ramon but that didn't happen. Forgot what happened in the original. Lol
@@yeepman5412 Yea same, well I forgot him at least hahaha. Oh well, I'll just have to make sure I kill him on my second playthrough
It's ok, it happened to me on the first time on the original RE4. I froze him then quickly took the elevator. After I releazied that defeating Verdugo was part of a trophy achievement. Playing this remake for the first time I learned my lesson and knew exactly how to beat him.
Why wouldn't you think it's a boss? You seen any other enemy like this? Or one that has specific ways to damage it.
I played on hardcore and went to every liquid nitrogen spot froze him then kicked him then only when he was frozen shot him with 32 shotgun shots from the striker with 4th level power and then 17 shots from the assault rifle 4th level power and the upgrade that boosts its power by 1.5 and a grenade and he still wouldn't die I looked up this video to see if he was invincible or something I swear im not making this up
Lol same on hardcore just used every grenade I had shotgun, machine gun and just said fuck it I'm saving ammo lol
@@chrissmel94 on god he was immortal i swear all my magnum ammo and almost all my shotgun
Lol same. I ended up spending all my TMP, shotgun and assault rifle. Barely any ammo on my pistol. Broke my knife too parrying him after I ran out of nitrogen.
Personally, unless for achievement, he's not worth it on hardcore, you get 30k ptas but spent way too much ammo trying to kill him
@@Ncc0990 big brain energy
I used 4 big grenades, 3 small grenades and a ton of fully upgraded Striker shots to the face. Still alive.
trying to do this right now with my first run on hardcore, dude just EATS bullets
Fr Im doin my second run on professional dif and he the Guy is undefeatable😭
Honestly I dont even think its possible on Standard. I used every grenade, magnum, and shotgun I had and used every possible nitrogen switch and he still didnt go down
Seriously tho! On hardcore he just doesn't die
It’s simply not possible. I replayed it for an hour using all grenades and ammo. He can’t be killed on hard difficulty
@@stevenbruno7710 I used all the magnum and shotgun ammo and maybe half of the rifle then he died
Popped this one without realising it was a trophy when I was having fun with the Magnum, and even then it took about thirty shots to the head
Killed him with just shotgun and few magnum, after 3 freezes shoot head for 4th phase, also the freeze can bug and you can freeze him multiple times like 5 or 6 times makes it real ez
So what happened to the other Verdugo? in the original it merged w Salazar
I just got to this boss. Froze him once and shot the rocket launcher in his face. He got owned instantly.
Best advice: do whatever you can to get the rocket launcher.
I just got on the elevator after running ... I feel like that will come back to haunt me.
Damn it all, I was trying to beat this guy but I was running low on ammo, and the nitrogen showers were all spent, so I just ran to the elevator. If only I hadn't overwritten my save prior to the fight. :T
You could of used the nitrogen traps then blast him with a RPG
I ran. Playing hardcore at the first run to get most intense gaming experience. I really needed to save ammo so I guess I get the trophy next time
This is a really hard boss. It took me 12-15 headshots with a fully upgraded killer7 on standard difficulty, without using nitrogen showers to beat him....I wasted so much ammo. I dont think the 30000 pesetas trophy deserve the struggle, I will probably reload a previous save since I unlocked the achievement and wont waste my ammo next time on him. Perhaps headshoting him using the bolt thrower with attachable mines might do the trick......
man in the video description you should put a link to a playlist with the achievements / trophies of resident evil 4 remake
The Broken Butterfly is your best friend on this boss fight.
Muchas gracias!!!
I managed to kill him on my first try on Standard, so it’s definitely doable but very ass-clenching lmao
Lol everyone does it first time on standard.
Reloaded my save file and one shot him with the RPG after freezing him. You get a trinket worth 30k for your efforts.
Now I'm internally debating whether it's worth the 50k for lots of ammo and heals saved and more collected or do i just go back to my original 🤔
"You're right hand comes off?"
Good luck with that on hardcore
I beat him on hardcore new game no bonus weapons by freezing him then mag dumping him twice with the assault rifle then using 15~ shots from the striker, for most of my shots he was frozen but the last few he was not frozen
Hit him with everything I had on hardcore . I have to re load my save and try again for trophy 🏆
Easy difficulty?
It Definitely is! When on hardcore you could never have that much grenades and shotgun ammo
@@CoreyCiprianoTrujillo you can have that many, but he killed the dude way too easily
Y does it matter if its on easy or not??
@@lightskinnedlarry728 you won’t unless you’re running through the enemies 🤣
I was playing this on standard last night and he mopped the floor with me. 🙄 I just ended up running till the elevator eventually showed up.
Does he even take damage when he isn't frozen? like 15 shotgun shells and 40 handgun rounds out of a fully upgraded red9 and he didn't even flinch
After goin n the elevator n passing forward can u go back n beat him
epic combat
On hardcore I was able to do this pretty easily with the nades I'd been hoarding throughout the previous couple chapters and some magnum ammo. He definitely has a shitload of hp though, took every rifle bullet I had (foolishly offloaded with the M4) and most of my shotgun ammo. Not any harder to kill than the original though imo, you don't really use that much ammo getting up to him
Actually scratch that if yo keep running past elevator room there is 4th freeze section and i killed him with 28 shotgun shots, or its just 4 kicks idk what triggered his death
I swear he's basically impossible on Professional I'm playing it rn, he took 2~3 ish normal grenades 2 heavy grenades 16 shotgun shots (riot shotgun 9.6 to the face) a few max upgrade red9 headshots and 11 29.0 magnum rounds, then I died :) (rocket launcher isn't an option I used it on double garrador)
Double gerados? Aren’t they after this boss?
@@woolgum nope, right before this boss. It's all good now tho.
@@Mipsishoppin sorry, I was thinking about the two giants. 😂
bro do you have all outfit ?
this boss is pissing me off like why are there only a few nitro switches and after you use em they get destroyed? like wtf
You can still damage him hit his head or parry also flash bang
They seem to have changed how he takes damage. For his whole body to take damage u gotta freeze him after that if he can’t be freeze he only takes damage from melee attacks off him being stunned or head shots
You can not kill him on hardcore it’s impossible. I shot him with the rocket launcher along with every goddamn bullet i had and he still killed me.
what happens if you just get in the elevator and leave? ¿ does he shows up again?
No but you will miss the trophy
The rocket one shots him
ngl the reward for doing this was not worth all the ammo i spent
If you’re on Xbox it’s not an actual achievement 😢
Randomly stopped on any Re4 video. But what happened to Ramon's white cloaked side mutant. You fight the red one in the sewer but the other
Probably fights Ada in Seperate Ways
@@bernoulli85 didn't think of that
I think he fuses with Salazar like the original
@@jaytee5618 Salazar was standing alone in the room when Kraeser left
@@jaytee5618 also Leon shot him and he fell down a hole
What?, You can kill it?, Lmao
No wonder it only appear once, I thought it'll return later on and we'll have proper fight elsewhere.
I had to use my rocket launcher I was saving on this pain
Did you one shotted him? Would try it rn in my second run.
I see but im playing with handgun and knife only so it's harder
I just did it on hardcore gamers
What did you use im struggling beating him on this mode.
@@Kiddo_williams fully upgraded blacktail, striker shotgun, stingray rifle, broken butterfly
Can you still get the trophy on nee game+
You can,, im lucky i got another save file i escaped from him to save my ammo and just loaded the second save and killed him
I got him in standard
Absolute sponge
Alguém BR?
Rpg👍
Too bad guns do absolutely no damage in this game or I could’ve killed him. Capcom really doubled down on the “no fun allowed” mindset the remakes have taken.
Ammo in the remake is nonexistent
Herbs are nonexistent
I have died more times in my first playthrough of the remake then I have in all my playthrough of RE4 ‘05 *COMBINED*
Just a disrespectful spit in the face to anyone that loved RE4
Skill issue.
Massive skill issue
Unbelievably big skill issue
Bombastic skill issue
Unable to calculate the amount of skill issue
Now do it without using the nitrogen traps for the real challenge.
