Myself and a friend purchased Cyon diode and a Cyon Neon a few weeks ago to replace our Enduro bikes. We are crazy impressed with them and cant believe how well they handle, we are riding faster and more confidently than on our 2021 model enduro bikes with 160mm travel. I dont have any questions :) , but would love to see these Q and A's focus more on positive questions rather than uneducated haters who don't understand the ethos of this brand! In saying that I'll be ordering a range extender as soon as they're released. The range extender literally saves forestal owners from needing to buy a "full fat" ebike, and will be well worth the extra kg on the days where you need it!

I've been riding a Siryon for a year already, and I can say the bike is simply amazing, and the support is definitely premium (what I would expect form a bike like this).

As a owner of the first cyrion I am still happy with the bike, yes there are a few problems. Sometimes it takes me a few tries to get it chrarging, the motor makes some ratteling noises ( I have an early version - I think they changed it meanwhile, the handle bar makes some craklin noises - but I really love how it rides. Only thing I would like to see some inovation is the adoption of another motor (pinion?- the new chainless system) I just dont feel confident with the current bafang that it will hold for long... keep going guys

I have a Siryon and have to say it is stunning. However, please update your weight specs on the Siryon Neon - its low by about 800g to 1.2 kg.

We can address this in the next video because there is an industrial explanation to this differences you mention, related to the deviation in weights of components... as well as the size of the bike, obviously.
Surprisingly enough, there are bikes that are below the announced figures.
However we take note of your comment and we could make an update according to a more educated average now that there are many more bikes produced.
      Thanks!

@@ForestalBikes Do you mean variation in industrial/production process or choice of components? If the latter, why not give the size and specification that yielded the weight then the end user can then adjust his expectation accordingly based on any changes. I assumed that my Siryon Neon size L would be 17.2kg + a bit to account for being size L. As delivered its at least 1kg over. What is the difference/variation between a size S and size XL frame (300g)?
In any case, appreciate you addressing the concerns.

The problem is not the functionality of the bike regarding how the range extender or how it performs with it. But the fact that the bike was advertised with it at the time of sale. If it was designed not to have the extra weight of the range extender why make it or sell it?

The range extender was announced as an upcoming accessory, though it was not confirmed to be ready as it indicated on the website's footer. It is true that we expected to have it much earlier and that is why it appeared on it. For technical reasons it was delayed significantly.
The range extender is an accessory that responds to a market trend and consumer "pressure" of adding an extra battery to a lightweight e-bike, and that we are doing it to fulfil the demand of this specific profile of user.
With this we want to say that it is an accessory but not a part of the original structure of the bike. Here we are judging how the bike performs according to a philosophy of a concept given the fact that at Forestal we do bikes, not battery packs.
Put yourself in our shoes for a moment:
We develop this concept of lightweight e-bike, with a perfectly balanced handling and almost a resistance-free pedalling. The goal was to deliver a bike that was basically a non-ebike, with assistance to achieve climbing goals with ease; and of course having refined aesthetics.
The outcome we see now is that after all this work, what people complain about is that we are not providing an ugly box attached to the frame to ruin the handling, but so people can do a few more km/miles using the motor's assistance.
We will eventually have a range extender available for this range of bikes, but at the same time we also want to make clear that we are not happy with the concept of a range extender especially for our philosophy of bike, and even less happy about how the industry has succeeded again in forcing people to buy something that nobody needed. Bikes with bigger batteries already existed.
      Signed: Rafa (CEO)

@ForestalBikes ha ha, that's funny. I see Forestal and Pushys have changed their websites regarding the range extender availability or existence. Plenty of other sites and reviews still say it's available to buy with the bike. Regarding the industry forcing people to buy something, isn't that the right of a consumer to choose what option they like whether you like it or not.

@@davidfogarty8180the Forestal website always indicated at the footer that the extender was an upcoming accessory with an unconfirmed date.
The other sites you mention are not Forestal official, if you refer to reviews, for example.
You already have your own approach to everything related to Forestal so it has no sense to keep debating.

And still no update for the software? I’m sure I’m not the only owner that is frustrated with the lack of updates. The bikes still are far from a finished article and it’s been well over a year since launch. Come on Forestal, give us a reason to believe you are going to walk the walk. P.S. Support in the UK has been first class. 👍

Regarding the comment on components being specified for lighter riders - I take your point regarding flex for the Lyrik - but agree with the original comment. The 180mm rear disc is too small on an L or XL bike 170mm travel bike. Rotor size should be proportional to system weight (rider + bike weight) for the same braking experience. I know other manufacturers put the same rotors on all sizes but as you are meant to be progressive...

Yes Porsche offers free test drives on the vast majority of their models! And Forestal is definitely NOWHERE close to Porsche in any capacity. And by the way the Riders Boutique in Andorra thinks that your test policy sucks!
