Madrid Vintage Run went much better than I had anticipated. I was jetlagged and hadn't slept at all, since my parents neighborhood was celebrating the local Saint and that included a cover band playing songs till 3am the night before. But the race was a total success nonetheless. I got my running mojo back and I am ready to take on the world!

Wow, Madrid is so beautiful, especially with that weather! What a great looking city it is, with a perfect blend of classical and new architecture. And that's some turn-out for a 10K race; I can only imagine what a half- or full-marathon must look like! Congratulations on your P.R., and I hope the rest of your trip was as awesome as race day!
The marathon reached 35k this year... I am seriously considering running it in 2025. But I agree, madrid is a stunning city these days, and it's so clean and efficient. The subway takes you everywhere and it's super safe

The course is buce, but it doesn't hit many of the interesting historical sites. The half and the marathon in April do though.

The course is PERFECT to run it fast. It's almost a straight shot too so there's not a lot of momentum lost on the turns

Big congrats on the PR! That looks like a really fun race if maybe challenging logistically. They always say to sleep well early in the week because you can never count on sleeping the night before a race. That's why we have coffee.
The only complication is that there are two many subway exits/entrances... which is a good problem to have if you are a subway user. 😁 but not good if you are meeting people unless you are super specific LOL

A few years ago you felt that women in Spain were less likely to actually enter races vs USA ladies. Nice weather on race day.
Yes. 10ks in Spain are almost 50/50, but in marathons women are only about 10% of the runners.
