This is the highest compliment I believe a drummer can receive - I really am firmly of the belief that Mario is one of probably the top 5 drummers alive right now. Not only for technical prowess but also for the creativity of his parts. Truly an absolute marvel of the drumming world and someone who inspires my playing every time I listen!
I appreciate that so much dude! They’re such a huge inspiration to me I really wanted to do them justice and I hope I’ve done that. Also a very fun song to play! Appreciate the kind words so much
My man, you are BEAST! The vocal climax of your song could be a highlight of any Gojira album. Seriously. As for next challange (afrer Black Keys I assume) OASIS would be intersting one. Especially since you are Brit, so the whole Britpop era and The Beatles influences are like bread and butter to you. And man, post this stuff on Gojira Reddit or something, you deserve so much more views. Cheers!
Ah man thank you so much for the continued support! I’m so happy with that climax of the song, it was absolutely brutal on the voice but so proud of it. Oasis are super high on the list, especially as i live in Manchester! I try to post these things on the subreddits but sadly most people aren’t interested in this type of thing it seems! Regardless, thank you for the continued support, it means the world to me!
Man, this is amazing! I get the impression that you understand Gojira better than most other people on here who try to replicate their style. I'd kill for a full project of this stuff lol
That means the world to me, I’ve been fascinated with the little idiosyncrasies of these guys for years so I wanted to do them justice rather than just BUH PICK SCRAPE. If I had the time I’d happily do a Gojira tribute album.
what the actual fuck I thought you were some very famous english speaking youtuber but no, thanks youtube algorithm for showing me this, absolutly underrated channel. new sub 🤘
Thanks so much brother! Really enjoyed going heavy as hell for this one, I hope it was worth the wait! Thanks for the continued support man. Makes it all worth it
i love this!! the only thing that could be better is the pick scraping technique. you do it the exact way you described it in the video except there are no fret harmonics. you just mute the strings and cut through them with the pick. kinda similar with the intro riff to Toxic Garbage Island. instead of fret harmonics you do a technique they used on their first album where you shoot your palm up from the strings from the bridge really fast and let the strings ring out, but this is more of a nitpick than a tip. other than that, you made a perfect gojira impersonation!!!!
As a French Gojira fan, I was very excited to hear your take on this band, and as usual, you didn't disappoint and it's an absolute banger. It's the first video that you've uploaded since I subscribed to your channel so I'm taking the opportunity to tell you that I'm litteraly in love with your work, I binged pretty much all of your videos in like a week and I feel like I've learned so much and that it's been helping me a lot with my own songwriting. So yeah, you truly deserve a lot of respect and recognition for you talent.
Man I’m so gassed to hear that! The support really does keep me motivated to make more of these videos, hearing that it’s helped your songwriting makes it all worth it seriously so thank you for taking the time to comment. There will be so much more to come, got many songs I want to write!
Funnily enough, I just did a few days ago XD Great stuff, man! Another recommendation I have is My Chemical Romance, I'd love to hear your analyses of their style! @@JohnAzopardi
I just found this channel and I absolutely love it as it gets me inspired to use some elements in my own projects. I’d love for an episode based on Soundgarden. Thanks again for all your awesome videos!
It’s so great to hear it’s given you some inspiration for your own projects, that was absolutely the goal! It’s a good exercise for me too, teaches me some new techniques to incorporate into my own music!
Let's go, that was super awesome! Can't wait for this to hit spotify! Can't wait for Black Keys! Anyways Djo, Ghost (Impera, Meliora, Opus Era?), or even The Warning would be AMAZING. Keep up the good work
The Warning would be cool, it still amazes me that they were so young when they put out their first album. Seriously, I think they were like 11-12 years old or something like that
Should be available on Spotify now if you want to carry on listening! Amazing suggestions, i think there’s some common names coming up here. I will have a listen and see what i can put together!
Dude, you deserve so much more for the quality and uniqueness in your videos, and the time and effort is top notch and probably better than a lot of music youtubers lol. great job!! edit: you're also hilarious
Thanks so much for sticking around and being patient with them! They take a while to put together but I'm so glad you've found this to be worth the wait.
I love everything about this. The analysis, vocals, technique, song, your energy and the fact that you somehow pick all my favourite bands. Keep it up! Also, The Doors next?
Man thanks so much for the continued support, we have similar tastes for sure and I’m over the moon you enjoyed this! Doors are high on the list for sure, thanks as always man.
Amazing work! I like your Gojira song more than many *actual* Gojira songs, no small feat! I'd love to hear a Pink Floyd and a Mars Volta song if you feel so inclined. :)
Oh wow now that IS big praise thank you so much dude! Both very good suggestions, will undoubtedly do both at some point, TMV will be chaos but I’m so up for it
Let’s go, fucking love the song as always and I can’t wait to see you take on The Black Keys since I remember that one was tied with Gojira for this video. Anyways, as always here’s some bands I’d love to see you take on eventually - The Beatles - Pink Floyd - Metallica - Iron Maiden - Ghost (early/Opus Eponymous -Meliora era) - Pantera - The Strokes - Radiohead - AC/DC (either Bon Scott or Brian Johnson era) - Blur - Oasis - Kyuss (Loved your QOTSA video and I was just rewatching it recently so why not go back to Josh Homme’s roots) - ZZ Top - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Primus
Hell yes brother I'm so stoked you liked it! That's a mega list, and I'd love to take a crack at all of them eventually, some of them are very high up on the list already, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED
@@JohnAzopardi PLEASE do Radiohead! I'd love to see how you take on their style. BTW: I actually unironically put your songs in my playlist, I really love them. Especially The Thorn Tree.
Thanks a bunch! Tried to pack as many in as possible! Man if I knew how to go about mapping out the tabs efficiently I absolutely would. I’m just not sure how to go about it’
awsome work! love your videos dude keep up the great work! also check out king gizzard, their metal album "PetroDragonic" would work so well for one of these videos
Not terribly familiar with Gojira, but having compared now I prefer your version of the cover song to their own. 👍 Quite impressed with the number of techniques and concepts you had to get a grip on for this.
Oh wow that means a tonne to me dude! Technique wise this is by far the hardest band I’ve covered, essentially had to learn new techniques for every instrument and ESPECIALLY the vocals. It was a real eye opener into how much I’ve still got to learn!
Holy molly this really captures all of the gojira in one bit
Especially the drums
mario would be proud

How the hell isn’t this more popular? It’s so well made
Eyy thank you so much! It was so much fun to make
Holy shit dude, the grooove is real
This goes so much more in depth than any other videos I’ve seen on gojira, I bump your song so much dude you’re incredible ❤
I appreciate that so much dude! They’re such a huge inspiration to me I really wanted to do them justice and I hope I’ve done that. Also a very fun song to play! Appreciate the kind words so much
