According to the writers, when he told her to go see the world, he was sincere. So he probably expected he would never see her again, and therefore believed he had nothing to lose by getting the power back. I certainly hope that's the case. Maybe if he tells her the truth about it, she'll understand.

Watching this now, knowing what he did, I am honestly so disgusted. He just lies and lies and lies again to her. I wish she had taken that trip to see the world.

What about that time he spared Robin Hood's life after seeing that he had a pregnant wife? Or when he committed to rescuing Henry even though it possibly meant his own death? Or when he *spoiler* actually DID sacrifice himself in order to defeat his father?I mean, come on... Rumple may be a colossal jerk most of the time these days, but he has actually done good things before...
yeah, belle is really losing her brains and smarts, and while i still love her and rumple together, i'm starting to wonder if she ever really had any to begin with. she's lost my complete respect in season 4 and 5 and 6 is just making it worse
Well, I wouldn't say Belle doesn't have a brain... I just think she's a bit naive. Unfortunately, while she tries her best to be independent and make her own decisions, so far it doesn't seem to have worked out very well. Her biggest mistake, I think, was believing she could fix an extremely flawed man just through her love and kindness. In a way, I think she's wised up from that. However, while the show would apparently have us believe that she understands Rumple the best, the sad truth is that she doesn't understand him at all, which has been made clear repeatedly.
I love Rumple and Belle together... But I feel like Belle is kind of a yo yo. By that I mean that she keeps leaving, and coming back, and leaving, and coming back, over and over again. It's like the song "Hot and Cold" by Katy Perry.
+Coral Roper I think it's because of inconsistent writing and lack of screen time. She's hardly ever given more than a few short scenes here and there, so how can the writers expect to do her justice? You don't develop a character by barely using them. -_-
because of rumple, being bad. He is mostly bad, he tries to be good and then the writers make him bad again. Since he's really the one bad character now, hook isn't evil anymore. Nor is Regina. To have a main character be bad, evil for drama.

Belle why do you go to him at bad time or wrong situation!! When he finally became a good man u left him, but as the Dark One u come back and embrace each other!!! Belle I think u need to see an Optometrist or Psychiatrist. I feel like Regina knew & locked u in the Hospital for a reason!
I love Belle and Rumple's relationship, but there's a little bit too little chemistry between them. Emma and Hook or Robin and Regina is going on there ... and this is a bit of a miss. Especially since for me, Rumplestiltskin is the most attractive man in the series
