    Twinloc is the main reason I'm planning my 3rd Spark purchase in 6 yrs. Keep looking at other brands / models, then always end up buying a Scott. It's extremely helpful if you are riding hilly terrain as I do, makes a huge difference on climbs...

    Having a remote suspension system is so great and definitely worth it. I have electronically controlled suspension which means i can go from full lock to full open to hit jumps without having to sacrifice energy on the initial climb, definitely worth it!

    I had the Twin Lock on my Scott Spark 2.0 (0-80-110 mm.) and man, how I hated the damn thing. It might be much, much better and improved by now and actually work. Mine was operating a combo between a Fox 32 fork and a DT Swiss shock and it sucked big time! It would drive me nuts. When the Dt Swiss Crap broke down (for the third time) I swapped it for a fox (can't remember which one) and that was the end of the Twin Lock adventure for me. But I still believe the idea is great.

    Hey guys, you'd be the perfect folks to ask this question. I live in Columbus OH where it is relatively flat. A 150 mm bike is an overkill, however just a few hours away there are downhill bike parks and more gnarly trails, my thought process was buying the genius and utilizing the traction control mode to ride the local mostly flat trails and then use it to its full capability in more downhill stuff. My question is, would there be damage to the suspension system riding the bike in traction control mode days at a time consistently??

    It is February 12, 2023 and Scott still offers this on their Ransom 930 2022, model on a Xfusion Nude shock 170mm/120mm. On an aluminum bike. Commercialized as an enduro but entry level with shimano components and a rockshock fork domain 170mm. I was wondering how this still performs in a 2022 bike... is it still relevant in a xfusion nude shock? How much am I giving up by not using a fox dpx2 and a fork fox 36 rhythm? (Which would be found on a status specialized mullet version)

I have a 2015 Giant Anthem 1, with a fox ctd rear shock. Even with running 10% sag I still find the shock to be moving more than expected when sprinting etc.

    Hi Gmbn, do you find a limit for this kind of bike not being able to put a shock with a piggy back? As i look at scott catalogue it seems that this bike covers also the enduro segment at the moment.. Thank you

    • @gmbn
      @gmbn  6 років тому

      Hi Fit, not at all! This is still a 150mm shock so for everything in the UK and even riding in mountains abroad it's absolutely fine! Pigybacks help with heat distribution and help to prevent 'packing down' over a super long descent...but not having a piggyback doesn't necessarily 'limit' a shock 😃

    • @sebharvey4497
      @sebharvey4497 6 років тому

      James what’s involved in the maintenance of the twin lockout system? I’m pretty close to buying a Spark mainly because of the lock out.

    • @gmbn
      @gmbn  6 років тому +3

      It's cable driven so you should consider that you have to maintain/replace the inner and outer cables as frequently as you would your gear cable. Set up is vital as you want the cables to pull enough to fully open/close the system. Bear in mind that you should adjust these slightly for cable stretch over time. After that it's just get your suspension serviced as regularly as you would do with any other!

    Would be nice if that controlled the dropper at the same time, 100% up for locked, 80% for traction, and dropped for downhill.

    Now all we need is lever that removes the knobs on your wheels
    etc. For on the road

    Damn finally someone made all the levers fit in nicely. I'd want a remote lockout for my Fox Evol but I just can't see how I'm going to mount it with the dropper and the ShapeSshifter lever.
    Now I just want a bike with internal gearing, integrated levers for lockout, dropper and SS like system, and finally that 20cm dropper.

    Can you convert nonScott mtb into twin lock system?

    Concept is great but the positioning impacts lever style dropper remotes.

    I have a stepcast performance elite and the bearing has seized inside the lockout. My forks are 6 months old. Back to fox for warranty. I’ve had to send 3 forks back to fox in 5 years on 3 different bikes. Terrible quality high price.

    the twin lock system on my front fork doesn't work and won't return when i turn when turning in off. I've used videos to try and reinstall it properly but that hasn't seemed to work. Can you do a video on fixing one.

    Very nice to have, but do i really need this? Probably not. That combined with the fact that it's probably cheaper to send a spaceship to Mars then to buy this scott, makes it money not well spent. But money aside, not sure if it's a must have. I rarely use it on my bike. Only on long climbs. Or extreme dhs.
    Using changing suspension setting does wear out the mechanism very fast by the way.

    #askgmbn is it too damaging for a hardtail to ride rock gardens?

    • @cameronkeogh4177
      @cameronkeogh4177 6 років тому

      Catarina F Nope, just run proper tire pressures.

    • @catarinaf652
      @catarinaf652 6 років тому

      Nancy Keogh lower pressure would be good? (I'm running lower on the front tyre and higher on the back one) - sorry I'm pretty new to mtb

    • @gmbn
      @gmbn  6 років тому

      Slightly harder tire pressures so that you don't get punctures or damage the rims. And adjust your riding accordingly. So carefully pick your way through a rock garden on a hardtail. You may not go the fastest but you'll get through!
