With bike prices shooting off the roof, I decided to breathe some life into my old bike, and I am so glad I did after watching you :) great video and lots to learn how to use the suspension efficiently from you...

I love that you keep pushing on the level of production. I appreciate that you take the time to get some POV and then go back to do the same line from another angle and take off the gimbel. That speaks for the dedication and your vision for the channel
Great wee film - I love North Third! I really like your presentation style in this. Very relaxed and conversational. It's great to see you showcasing the awesome trails we have around here!

Travel does not really matter all that much, geometry is more important. Back in the day, a 100-120mm bike was a XC bike with awful, road bike geometry, whereas a 180-240mm of travel was basically the same, but higher up and a slacker head angle, but not by much. Nowadays, we have more aggresive angles and comfortable bikes on which to attack a local trail. I would be more than happy to have a Spark, although, I would change the bars immediately for something with 40-50mm of rise. Top notch video!
man, i absolutly love this video....i have the same mtb ( the economic version btw , 960 ) and i'm a beginner. When i have doubts regards my 120mm travel or "my geometry is more XC" i watch this video and i always say: it's the rider, not the bike . such a motivational video :D
Love my 2017 Scott spark 720 plus. I run full 27.5 Its a very capable bike, came standard with 130mm rockshox sektor up front and 100mm x fusion 02 Nude at the rear. I've been on all trails at windhill bike park bar the pro line. Okeford bike park nearly all of the trails and Subo which is gnarly downhill. Very playful on the jumps too. I'm after a gambler next.
I do that with my 100mm hardtail so yeah, it is more about the rider than the bike, still, there are limits and it also doesnt make sense to bring a knife to a gun fight, but a double suspension 120mm should do almost anything, just not as fast and comfortable as a long travel enduro bike, and not as fast and efficient as a full on XC bike, it is somewhere in the middle.
Excellent video. I am going to be ordering a 2020 spark 910. Currently riding a 29er carbon sight 150/140 and a trance advanced 0 27.5 150/140 before that. I was lil nervous going to a 120 but this video helped my decision. I want fast and efficient also like the lock out
I just picked up a 2016 740 and I love it. Great video. Nice to see what a 120mm is capable of. Although I suspect it has a lot to do with the rider. For some reason mine doesn't seem as capable. Maybe it's broken or something...ya...that's it 😆
I rode a friends 2017 Spark 940 29er in XL and I was amazed at how easy it was to get that huge machine airborne. The 120mm Fox suspensión feels bottomless on this 29er. Very capably and super plush! It’s got me thinking about trading in my 27.5 Anthem. Really good camera work too!
Hi. I have a spark940, size L. I LOVE this bike. what size are the handlebars and the stem that you are wearing in your spark ???. I like your channel. Thank you. greetings from Spain.
Aww man, stoked you like it! It is SO much fun, crazy how easy it is to throw around and it accelerates up those climbs! I have the PRO Tharsis Trail bar and stem. The bars are 800mm in width and it's a 65mm stem.
It seems like 120mm, even a full suspension with 100mm is a LOT when riding most trails as mountain biking tires provide a lot of give as well for most trails. But if riding huge downhills and you have pro jumping skills, 100mm probably feels like you’re riding a road bike.
Scotty, just wanted to commend you on the incredible changes of perspective as well as audio quality of your videos. Other MTB channels they just strap a GoPro to their chest and hope for the best. You can tell the difference in polish having a friend to help film. Cheers!

I am pretty sure it is not, what you normally get on a Spark - I have a spark 930 2019 L - the stem is 70mm and the bars 740 are flat. I am thinking about changing the cockpit to make it feel a little bit more like a trail bike. Please, any advice? I am 6 feet 1 inch tall. Thank you!
