- I have built this huge custom heavylift drone from scratch, using a design from Tom Stanton.
Its main constrution is based on carbon fibre and 3D prints.
In this video I show you how I built it. The sponsor of this video is PCBWay who have sponsered the CNC cut carbon fibre plates as well as the 3D printed parts made from PETG

Hey thanks for the detailed parts list and the advice about the drill press!!!
I just came upon this, Kasper. I think I'm going to repeat your build. I loved the drilled holes mistake - it was truly a human moment - and made the success that much sweeter. I don't understand the flight control systems out there, so I'm still doing research. I just wanted to tell you the video was great.
Hi Kurt
Thanks, I really appreciate that. I hope you succeed in your build.
The GPS being farther away from the electronics will help.
You can also twist the cable for EMF mitigation.
I will try that!
Great build! Glad you went into detail in the manufacturing process. Would you mind sharing what dimensions you cut your carbon fiber arms and landing gear to? I'd like to do a similar build.
Thanks man. The legs are 25 cm, and the arms protrude 32 cm from the hub so their total lenght is about 35 cm
Kasper - great video! Do you have any issue running those motors with the 4-in-1 50A esc? I have the same FC/ESC combo and I am considering reproducing your build in the next few weeks.
I was planning to build myself a massive drone with a separate propellor in the rear, like a mashup behind a mq9 and a drone, but my 3d printer crapped itself, so I have to buy a new one.
Use the naza m lite FC you will never hve flip over problems😊
Great video, thanks for taking the time to make it. I'm working on designing my own heavy lift system based off of this design, and I have one question about your arm mount issue at 7:40 - would it have worked to simply shim the top plate up with some washers to give the proper clearance over the arms? As I understand it, angled arms offer some stability advantages. Is there any reason why some washers or a slightly taller top half of the arm mounts would have caused problems?
You are right, and I also think washers could have solved it, still I believe it is a design flaw.
Kasper! interesting ,📽
Thanks!
Can u share the 3d file please, id like to build it

What is the maximum weight it can lift?
I have not done any max test, but it easily lifts 2,2 kg.
Have you tested its payload yet ?!
I have not done any max test, but it easily lifts 2,2 kg.
@@kaspersorensenDo you mean 2.2 KG ?
How much does the whole thing weigh?
Hi Josh
Total flying weight is 2850 gram. Where the batteri is 750 gram of that
HOW MUCH IS THE BUILD
About 1000 USD excluding radio and DJI goggles. If you have a 3D printer you can shave about 200 dollers off.
I want to start a business so that why i need drone
If you buy a drone at the beginning its easier to start

@@kaspersorensen sick man! thats quite a bargain for a drone with such great utility. nice work
