- I wanted to get an overview of what is possible on an 8 bit Atari computer, so I made a video with some demos.

Great example to show off the capabilities of this fantastic platform.
Hard to believe this was technology from 1979. Nothing in the personal computer space even came close to the Atari until well into 1982 when Jack Tramiel's Commodore released the C64. Even afterwards, the Atari was arguably the better platform as a computer, with the C64 perhaps marginally better at playing video games - and I do mean marginally. A very fine testament to the forward-looking genius of Jay Miner, the system's lead architect, who famously went on the create the Amiga.
People welcome to the greatest 8 bits ever made the Atari. As an Atarian since 1978 I made a right choice. Made by the great Jay Miner inventor of the Amiga great machine and a credit to Atari. Have you played Atari today?
I had the C64 at this times, and I think the C64 is a very good piece of hardware, with sprites and scrolling power, but with a lot of technical bugs :-) Atari has the better system feeling because of the wonderful colors that you can see in some games :-) I think I will do a lot more with the Atari based Computers in the future... I like them very much, more and more.
I am too! Though since 2020. And the 7800 takes it one step further.
@@u64The only real issue with the Atari vs Commodore in the 8 but years was that Atari was terrible at getting third parties to code for them first. When you see games that actually took advantage of the Atari hardware, they are miles above what was possible on the Apple and Commodore computers. SID is very good, but when someone with huge talent made stuff for each, POKEY is very comparable, especially for a chip that was a decent amount of years older. The sad thing is, POKEY is better than the generic sound chip the ST shipped with, and definitely is the daddy of Paula in the Amiga.
Excelent work! I sugest for a next part, the synth speak of voice from arsantica, project M, 44khz samples, synth sound of the the master Bill Williams from Alley Cat(dog bark, miau, fight, ...), Etc...
A800 its an small amiga , very similar Diisplay Arquitecture Display List+Sprites + VM Bus , C64 Engineer Creates in fact the Atari ST , The 800-400 machines was created from Jay Minner the brain behind the Amiga , this is The Amiga 8 Bit Computer , and the ST was the C64 16Bit
Fantastic!
A small Amiga
Impressive
The Atari 8 bit machines could do what were pipe dreams on the C64.
Amazing! What demo(s) is that?
There are couple of them, e.g. Boogie nights and Bad apple (however this is more a kind of animation), last animation of course from Prince of Persia.
Wow, my old Sharp mz-800 can't do that :)
I am loking for "tsound" / t-sound"
Somr body knows?
0:59 What demo is this?
Bad Apple
@@wojciechelster1477 Is there a full version of this version of Bad Apple? :)
