Hi Paula! It’s wonderful to see you here! Thank you so very much for watching my videos and for your likes and comments. It means the world to me. I appreciate YOU very much!!
I live about 10 miles inland from Dover. Where are you from? Canada? You sound like a Filipina. Anyhow, you don't have the chance to enjoy anything at length on a rushed tour like this, though I suppose it's nice to get some impressions of historic places you've never seen before. My favourite historic place at the moment is the Black Pig pub at Staple, a very quiet village about 8 miles south east of Canterbury. The pub was built around 1588 from the shipwrecked timbers of the Spanish armada. Anyhow, it's a very cosy little pub and the chef does wonderful food. They've got a special lunchtime menu at the moment (until January) which includes cottage pie and peas plus a pint of ale (well. I usually only manage a half pint) for £13. Or you could have lamb hotpot. Or a fry-up which includes sausages and too many other items for me to remember. Or scampi and chips. I didn't know it was possible to get hooked on cottage pie and peas, but I've been back for it at least 5 times in the last month. Thanks for the vid.
Thank you so much for watching the video and for your insightful comment. What a beautiful part of the world you live in!! I love the Kent countryside. Yes you're right. On rushed day tours you don't get to see much. You just get a glimpse of an area and enjoy the cultures and sights briefly. It's like an appetizer. The Black Pig pub sounds enchanting with dishes I would love to try. Perhaps when I return another time. I'm sure I will return. I live in Canada but am originally from Malaysia. You have a good ear!! Have a wonderful weekend.
