Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 - Intro 1. 0:18 {Satan’s Guide to The Bible?} There is a dangerous video gaining popularity, called "Satan's Guide to The Bible," that illustrates a pretend children's Sunday school class learning from Satan as their substitute teacher. He claims that pastors keep secrets from their congregants, but that he will reveal those secrets and tell them the truth. Can you please analyze this video and refute its false claims about the Bible? 2. 38:34 {Was Evolution Used by God?} Genesis 1: 24 sounds like God created animals through evolution (at God’s command) - “The Earth brings forth…” V. 11 also uses the same language. Interestingly, it’s not used with water, birds, animals & man. Thoughts on why this may be? 3. 42:56 {Israel - Male & Female?} What is the explanation for God referring to Israel as male (Hosea 14:5-6) and as female (Jeremiah 3:6)? Is it context related, or is there another explanation? 4. 45:42 {Bethlehem & The Messiah} Did people not know that Jesus was born in Bethlehem (John 7: 41-43 NIV)? I feel like that would have cleared up some of their issues with Him being the Messiah! 5. 47:38 {Does Deuteronomy Prohibit Witnessing to Cults?} Does Deuteronomy 12: 30 prohibit current Christians from learning about other worldviews/religions/cults in order to evangelize them and utilize appropriate apologetics techniques? 6. 50:14 {Why Did God Appoint Unfaithful Leaders?} Why did God choose bad kings if He knows every heart? Saul, Solomon, Jeroboam, Hazael, and Jehu all turned away, but were directly chosen by Him. Why not choose kings He knew would stay faithful? 7. 55:00 {The Divine Council Theory} I heard you once say you didn't agree with Michael Heiser's views on the Divine Council. What part of it do you not agree with? 8. 59:25 {Speaking in Tongues} When did “speaking in tongues” change from being real human languages that the speaker didn’t naturally know to being a non-human/Spirit language? 9. 1:05:24 {Biblically, how is “Neighbor” Defined?} Is there a biblical definition for the term “neighbor”? I've always thought it was a term used to describe a non-believer who shows love to a Christian (or means them no harm). 10. 1:08:28 {Interpreting the Book of Acts} How do we interpret the book of Acts? Is it a reasonable interpretation that it’s merely a transitional period and that we have to be careful how much doctrine we take from it?
Mike has still never made a video addressing my question about why Jesus was arrested with a naked young man in a public park at 4 AM mark 14:51-52. He never addressed the secret gospel of Mark he didn’t address Morton Smith, nor the mar saba letter, or pseudo Clement. He just told me that I had a dirty mind for even asking the question very disappointing apologetics in my opinion.
@@Ian_622 Hi, your first question caught my attention. Your framing of the question is already leading you astray. Jesus WASN'T "caught with a naked young man" He was arrested in the company of his disciples and many others. Don't start from vers 51 of Mark 14. Start from verse 1. Verse 43 shows Jesus returning from a secluded place with Peter, James, and John. Then joining the other group of disciples and the soldiers showing up. When the other disciples tries to stop the arrest, Jesus rebukes them and is arrested. Then everyone runs away. Here's your answer: In 51, one of the younger followers is wrapped only in a linen cloth - so not naked. When the soldiers grab him, he runs off naked leaving his cloth - like any scared person would.
@@Sky-xd2nu telling me I don’t understand anything isn’t an apologetic. I have no idea what the point of this comment was at all. And you ignored secret mark Morton Smith the mar saba letter and pseudo Clement.
Pretty accurate portrayal of Satan though tbh. "Hey here's some super secret stuff you're not supposed to know" and then tells you a bunch of twisted half-truths that lead you away from God. Pretty spot-on there!
I find it funny how biblically accurate the video is. I almost thought it was a parody when I first heard about it, something like the Screwtape Letters that actually supports a Christian worldview.
I just want to acknowledge and appreciate a small detail Mike does. I LOVE how the title and thumbnail relates to the first question, since those are usually what are gonna pique interest, they get answered immediately instead of being buried in the video
I find the heavy accusations of propaganda in the video a telling sign. I found the Gen 1-11 story at the age of 11 heavy propaganda when I didn’t even know that word.
I don’t think they realized how accurate the name “Satan’s guide” turned out to be. They are literally using the same tactics Satan has been using since the garden of Eden lol.
Mike, every video from you is such a blessing! Limiting to 10 questions is still loving and serving your community, even if it's still once a week. Thank you for serving God with your talents and time.
I would gladly take more small streams spread out because each is so refreshing and grounding. I imagine it would feel less daunting to you and allow you to not feel like you have to rush if you ended up taking "too much time" on a real doozy of a question. Thanks so much for sharing your wisdom and encouragement!
"The holy spirit intercedes for us with groans we can't express" I've had that experience recently and it was just a gut wrenching cry out for Him, no words, no thoughts, just gut wrenching pain, and there He was showing me beauty through the pain 🙏
I do find it incredibly funny that they use Satan, the being that is highly well known as the great deceiver, to teach us about how the Bible is bunk. The irony is so strong, one could use it in a forge.
Was about to comment the same. They use the Father of Lies as representing them. They are telling everyone right from the beginning that they are lying. I really don't understand how anyone can take it seriously.
Exactly and if you think further. Satan is an Angel. He was An Angel of the Lord. So how can he exist in the universe of this video which teaches there is no God?
I personally would prefer a shorter 10-question format. Your answers are always so thorough that 20 questions is sometimes an overload. It's like my brain is trying to digest this huge meal of information when a smaller portion would be easier to digest 😅
Yes!! I agree! I take notes and a slower lecture format would be great on 19 questions would be great! I'm so gratefully jotting down book, author and bible references.
Yes! Same. But it definitely depends on the day for me lol. Most days 10 is more enticing to click on and listen all the way through. Occasionally I am down for a solid 3 hours.
Mike, You are a treasure to the body of Christ. Regarding the 20-Question Friday, I so appreciate how you take as long as is required to provide thoughtful answers. Whether it is 1 hour or 2 hours or whatever. A relaxed, thoughtful pace is noticed and appreciated! Jim from San Diego
Isn't it incredible how those who have rejected God are blind to their devotion and influence by satan even when it's punching them in the face? I pray for the deceived that they will accept Christ's atoning sacrifice and be changed.
Yet your god apparently commanded the Israelites to slaughter their own fellow Canaanites, their own kinsmen/countrymen, in a land they’d already been inhabiting, and to even slaughter the small children… and that’s irrefutable historical fact. And that makes people REALLY uncomfy, and I’m glad that it does.
Thank you Jesus for making Mike into the teacher you made him into, I'm so thankful for the growth he's brought into my biblical understanding. I love to see the holy spirit work in him
And atheists often forget or ignore the historical, regional, political, social, et al contexts, which resolve most (if not all) perceived contradictions.
Well, that Daniel didn't write the Book of Daniel, and Matthew didn't write the Gospel of Matthew, etc, etc, that is not something you understand from just reading it. Dating books requires knowledge of the history of a language, for example. And you have to read the original. But, yes, many things are there in the Bible if you just read it. But it's so massively boring that almost no one does that.
Christ is Lord 👑✝️ Thanks for your ministry pastor Mike Winger. Thanks for always being objective and defending the Bible in an intellectual and spiritual way.
@@alexanderjackson7948 So the Kingdom, as described, is spiritual. Imagine a military beach landing, where the Kingdom is just staring to establish a spiritual rule (on earth) from a distant land (heaven). One could argue this happened when Jesus rose from the dead. Or the day of Pentecost. Or the transfiguration. All of those events happened when many people who heard Jesus make that prophecy were still, indeed, alive. Edit: Removed the snark. Yes, to me it seems like you're trying to deceive. But in the event you actually didn't know, I apologize. If you did know and still said that: Satan also takes things out of context to make a point in bad faith.
@@sleepyancient6655 I am simply new to arguing the bible - and much like someone new to chess, I am not familiar with all the openings and defences, so I can only make statements based on my best judgement of the material I come across. Speaking of such material, could you give a list of bible verses where the kingdom of god and the way it functions are described?
So glad for your first question Mike. I watch an athiest, ex-JW. He's been making the daniel dating claim recently. My instinct has been to push back and defend God's word. I'm grateful to understand more about the context around some of the particular issues. I'm naturally cynical and skeptical which is great for defending against scammers, less helpful for having a faith. So having more knowledge helps me to balance everything and not be so easily swayed by others. So thank you!
Most satanists nowadays are just posers who hate their dad lol. You won't see them sacrificing infants on an altar and writing sigils in blood to channel demons. They just smoke weed and complain about the man, man!
Satan is the perfect fictional character to represent skeptics. He represents rebellion against authority. He encourages mankind to eat the from the Tree of Knowledge. He's the true hero of the story.
Mike- I just wanted to say thank you. I am a mom of 2 little kiddos under 3. I left a teaching career to stay home. I’m in a hard season and it’s THAT exact season God seems to have radically shifted and shaped my understanding of Him. You, Alisa Childers, Natasha Crain and Skip Heitzig’s book 30,000 has changed my life. It feels like scales have fallen off. Like I have never loved the Word of God, His commandments or Him more. There’s been this change of place- God is God. I am His. These words; Lordship, contentment, obedience. I have not stopped sharing so many of your (and those others) resources since I found them. It’s met me exactly where I was - in perfect timing and in only the way the Holy Spirit can. Thank you. I would love to help in any way I can if the need ever arises. EDIT: It literally started with this ministry. Anyone else I found after was a domino. It's like the gateway:)
I’ll take your teaching at whatever dose you can deliver it, brother! I’d rather have more frequent opportunities and fewer questions answered, than more questions less frequently. God bless you!
As much as I look forward to every Q&A of yours, I want you to do what is best for you and your health. Your research is so deep that I know it takes a ton of time and energy. Ten questions would be a blessing. Would love them each week too. I’m just waiting for your study on Hebrews. Your teaching is a blessing to me and 672K others.
I'm really glad you addressed this "popular" anti-Christ video. I believe the reason there are different "names" given to the devil is for the different natures/characteristics he brings to the table. This principal holds true for the Hebrew language where names are given to describe the nature/characteristics of that which is named. For example: "Jesus" = Salvation, redemption. Jacob means "supplanter"... we could go on. The full names/nature of the devil are on full display in the video: Serpent: Twists the truth Satan: Adversary or Accuser - makes false claims or partial true claims/accusations Lucifer: Brings knowledge, and the pride that follows (“Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.” ~1 Corinthians 8:1. The subtly, the twisting, and the prideful accusations are keenly apparent to a trained believer, and it's great how this is pointed out as propaganda. Many blessings!
@@rockmusicvideoreviewer896 oh yes, intimidation is a key component of Christianity. “I made you, and I love you, now serve me, worship me, and obey my myriad of arbitrary rules or I will damn you to hell were you’ll be tortured for all eternity.”
Mike, I am happy with however you want to teach as long as you keep teaching. I can watch anytime and just appreciate your teachings. Thank you so very much! And thank you to the mods as well. 😊
I do like the ten questions Mike, it gives me time to look up some of the things you you talked about. I appreciate your time and clarity in the scripture.
Mike - 10 questions per video is excellent, if that's what you feel lead to do! Grateful for you, your team, and your boldness in proclaiming the Good News! 👏👏👏
Hey, even if it was only 5 questions I think most of us would still watch! Completely understand that with everything else you’re doing/committed to that continuing with 20 questions every Friday might not be doable in this season of your life! We just appreciate what you’ve done until now and will be grateful for what you’re able to do in the future by God’s grace and strength.
To everyone expressing their dismay at the choice of using Satan, that’s the point. When the reaction of your opponent is more important than making sense, then you will do whatever it takes to simply piss them off and/or confuse them. It’s not about the substance of the argument or the logic behind choosing Satan as the character. It’s about being edgy. Alllllllways about being edgy.
Still stupid. It's like if I made a video about racial equality and used Hitler as the spokesperson, while claiming he and the rest of the Nazis were different and that Hitler actually wanted good for different races.
Except it has nothing to do with being edgy. If you watch the Satan's guide to the bible video, you would know this. Its about using a character that is maligned by christians as being a liar to tell the truth, as he does in the bible. Satan wasn't the deciver and liar, the chtistian gods are. This is patently obvious throughout the bible.
@@jaclo3112 Oh come on lol. This is ridiculous. The irony of scrutinizing every single word of the Bible so heavily when it comes to God's proclamation and then when Satan says *we will literally become gods* just to trick mankind you're just gonna look the other way? The ultimate truth teller, eh? lol get out of here
@@Papa-dopoulos And Satan was right to say that they would become like gods. He did not lie. And we know this by continuing to read the rest of Genesis 3 where the gods themselves confirm "And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil.". So again the bible makes it clear that the christian gods were the deceiver, not the serpent. So lol...get out of here and learn to read the bible rather than being dishonest and taking verses out of context in a fit of emotional hysteria. Edit to add: nowhere in the bible does the serpent say "we will literally become gods". in fact, the serpent states in Genesis 3:5 exactly what the christian gods state "“For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” to which the god replied in verse 22 " And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil." Note that the phrasing used by the serpent and the god is EXACTLY THE SAME. The serpent didn't lie or deceive but instead pointed out the truth and the deception of the christian gods. At no point is the word "literally" used. You are the only one to deliberately misquote the bible to fit your raging narrative and dishonesty and to then ignore the full context and writing of the chapter to pretend the serpent lied. This is disgusting and brazen propaganda. Do better.
Thank you so much Mike! I have been in church all my life but your videos have taught me so much and really allowed me to dig into the Word, into my faith and I am able to know why I believe as well as walk through difficult questions with my boys.
Concerning the question on tongues I quote 1 Corinthians 14:2 "For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for No One Understands him: however, in the Spirit he speaks mysteries." Also, I particulaly gave this video a thumbs up in hopes it will lead some of those who watched the "Satan's Guide" video to this video. Thanks for addressing it, Mike.
For someone who said they did not watch video, Mike Winger has a lot of opinions about it. For first, video that modern biblical scholarship started with religious Christians. The video is not claiming for Dr. Ehrman. However, they also interview Dr. Dale Allison who is a practicing Presbyterian and Dr. John J. Collins who is a practicing Roman Catholic. Mike would have known that if he watched the video. Regarding Daniel, I cannot believe Mike Winger says Daniel was written early with a straight face. Every scholar I have read from Joel Baden to John J. Collins, to Amy-Jill Levine and Dr. Mark Zvi Brettler. All say Daniel was written in its final form around 164BCE. First, the court tales may have been earlier and the visions later. The reasons why we think it is early is for several reasons some are linguistic. The Hebrew is late but try’s to sound early. There is Aramaic and Greek loan words pointing to a later date. Lastly, the history of Babylonian kings are wrong. Daniel did not write Daniel in the 6th century BCE.
Hey Mike, really appreciate your ministry and the time and energy you put into it. I think that only doing 10 questions at a time seems a great idea, especially if it is less likely to wear you out. We care about you and see your hard work, and your need for rest. May God continue to use your ministry for decades to come!
Man, your response has only made matters worse for those of us who are trying to reconcile faith with the truth behind bible scholarship. By focusing so much on the "bad" intention behind the author of the video (saying "propaganda" 200 times), and not acknowledging his critique that we lay people REALLY never learn this stuff, you're actually proving exactly the point of the video
I've been through what you're going through, I don't believe in christianity and I still find myself saying "God forgive me" because I believed in Christianity so strongly that it became a part of me. I've rejected many ideas Christians have about the bible, but Jesus is still a fascinating character, so I'm thinking about approaching Christianity from a different angle. I'm saying this to you because you might end up rejecting Christianity, not realising that what you believed was someone else's interpretation of a text that might, on some level, actually be inspired by God. I think the first thing you'll come to realise is that the bible is not infallible.
Sorry I've also watched the video, and he does back up his arguments or advises other videos he made to address an argument. And I agree he doesn't debate the fact on whether lay people learn this stuff or not, I think the argument that Mike brings up is, this is a one sided discussion where passages are presented as fairly addressed but both sides of the discussion are not heard... speaking as someone who has preached Gods word a bit, if we use all the study notes we make and scholarly sources we use when preparing a message, the message would go for a full Sunday. These by nature are scholarly arguments rather than specific preaching points. Not sure if this is useful or not
@@JD_Shanz_79 of course they're different mythos means story or tale, logos means logic or reason, but you can use mythos or logos to talk about the same thing they're just different ways with a specific purpose in mind to say something
Hey Bible Thinker! Your mission of helping us to think Biblically and practice critical thinking on these topics is great! I’ve greatly benefited from this. I often find myself though, listening to you and not actually applying critical thinking myself. Do you, or anyone in the comments, have a video that you recommend we watch, critically think over and do research on, and then come together again to share findings? It doesn’t have to be like the “Satan Sunday school” but I’d love the opportunity to put in my own work and see if we come to similar conclusions. Thanks for you ministry and thank you to everyone behind the scenes helping it run so smoothly!!!
I would love to have these live questions more often, so only doing 10 questions each time is fine with me. (I think it probably would be easier on you, too---yes?) If it could be every week, that would be awesome! But even a consistent every-other-week would be good, as well. Thank you so much for doing these live questions videos! My brother was a pastor, and I love being able to ask him things and get an in-depth answer from his study at DTS, but I don't get to see him very often. Your live videos feel like the same relaxed conversations, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who benefits. Thank you so much for your ministry and all the time you devote to helping and teaching others to "think biblically." This ability is soooo very important, especially in the culture surrounds us. God bless you, sir!
Yes, I think ten question episodes would definitely be worth trying. I learn so much from these questions. Thanks for all your work on this Pastor Mike!
Mike, I'll always watch your Q&A livestreams. Would I prefer 20 questions? Probably, but I'm just glad that you seem to be looking healthier and I dont want anything to knock back your progress. I'll be grateful for whatever you can find time for, however much or little that is.
@evilpigeonsify, I haven't heard of that series until today and just the title alone says it all! We know that Satan is a liar and the Father of lies, so that's what a show like that is going to provide. They're doing everything they can to convince humanity that God is the evil one and satan is the hero on a path to salvation. I can't imagine what kinds of things will be produced after the rapture when the Holy Spirit is no longer restraining the wickedness. They're not even trying to hide their intentions anymore! God bless you and keep you always! 🙂
@@IndyB23 In Genesis chapter 3, verses 1-5, Satan (in the form of a serpent) tempts Eve by telling her God is hiding truth from her, but she can enlighten herself by eating the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. She eats it and so does Adam, and all kinds of calamity follow. The cartoonists don't disguise Satan at all, but they put a similar script in his mouth: "Hi, I'm Satan, and I'm here to tell you the truth" is an ironic message. Did they not realize that their deception could've been more effective with a different spokesman? HTH!
It's very obviusly intentional irony. So not lost on the creators at all. Atheists don't believe satan exists at all. They could've used another fictional character, like like the Easter Rabbit, but that wouldn't be a very good opposing figure to Jesus at all, now would it?
I think that videos like this Satan thing usually works for good. Many Christians end learning better than before. God also uses these "skeptics" for good, because they press Christians to learn deeper about their faith. Never stop doing these videos, Mike. God bless!
Hi Pastor Mike Winger,…thnx so much for taking this on,…this is the only attempt I’ve found to debunk it cause it’s relatively new,…keep it up, we’re counting on U
Heiser's biggest passage is the Micaiah passage; it literally shows God meeting with a divine council (a group of disembodied spirit beings) and He asks them for ideas on how to deal with Ahab. It is not as though God doesn't have any ideas, it is that God chooses to operate in this way that seems extraneous to us but is His will. He also argues that the are "angels" in the sense of being good disembodied spiritual beings. The difference is that the specific term "malak/angelos" is not an ontological classification, it is a job description: the words mean "messenger."
God bless you and keep you Mike. You are a huge blessing to all of us, Christian and non-Christian alike. Your wisdom in speaking while also being gracious is surely a gift from God. Thank you Mike for taking the time out of your day to teach us!
If you did 10 every week that would be awesome, but I still enjoy the 20. It is a blessing to be able to spend a couple hours on a Friday night looking into God's word and contemplating it's application for our modern world. However, you need to do whatever God is leading you to do. 🙏
Satan in OT only tells truth and doesnt harm, (thats why Jews believe Satan is on the same team as God, and there isnt a devil - Unlike God (Amos 4;6++) God has 2.8 million direct confirmed kills (30mil estimated) God will inflict pain till you follow Him
@@thedude0000no it’s not. I wish you realized how embarrassing it is for you to believe blindly what’s in that video. It’s establishment propaganda and your eat it up.
The best of all of this is that if someone doesn't ask the question, we can't have a discussion about it and are left to our own ignorant thoughts. So thank you for the asker of Question #6. So often the Big Fat Liar puts such thoughts in our head regarding decisions God has made. "Was that the best move?" we ask ourselves. Mike, you nailed the response to this by first alerting your audience to the dangers of asking such questions loosely. Like Eden in the garden, we are often invited to question God which, almost by definition, demonstrates our lack of trust in His ability to do what's best. Thank you for yanking down the veil!
@MikeWinger I love the 10 question idea!! I believe that you would be doing this for better efficiency thus more beneficial content for the CHURCH!! I look forward to seeing your adjustments. As always, thanks for your content,I appreciate your hard work and countless hours dedicated to this CHURCH!!!! Much love Mike! "I am Mike you are the questions" Brother Pasquale
I really think you should do 10. I am not having the viewers in mind by saying this, it is more for your sake. May Jesus bless you with everything you need for His kingdom.
Though I'm still agnostic and perhaps leaning towards deism with an appreciation for Christianity, I do agree with your points about Satan's Guide as he seems to present only the skeptical arguments that favor his point and only present the evangelical arguments that are ridiculous and extreme. The Bible is an important part of history and the development of humankind. Mike, please stay objective and keep addressing content that doesn't agree with your beliefs. This is the only way we will come closer to what is really true.
For question 6, I never question what God has done or is doing? He's God! He knows best and is infinitely greater and more intelligent than I. I trust Him. Period. Psalm 131:1 is my favorite verse. My heart is not proud, O Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things to wonderful for me. But I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me. Be at peace and trust God.
@Mike Winger I really hope you read Heiser’s Unseen Realm before you really decide if you believe in the Divine Council. The more I listen to him, the more he makes sense of the entire word of God for me, and its so helpful. Please give it some time.
Kari, I find Heiser very fascinating, mention it to other church leaders,is also fascinating. It is like they shun it but don’t want to really research it. There are gaps in scripture that seem to have other meanings. I just think being prepared to fight against satan is important. Genesis 6 will be explained some day…….
Hey Mike! I think the 10 question format would be GREAT! As much as I love longform content, I know it’s not for everyone. And especially since these videos are a great introductory to Christ and thinking biblically, I think the 10 question format would attract more new eyes. Less of a time commitment, less ‘intimidating’, and much easier to share. Keep up the amazing work! I love watching Christ work through you & educate so many.
After the phrase "Let the earth bring forth," the next phrase "according to their kind" appears 4 times between that verse and the following. Evolution would proport one kind turning into another rather than each after its own kind.
Don't see the strength of this argument. Even a human child is not the exact duplicate copy of the parents... You wouldn't get different races either, just a world full of people who look exactly alike.
@jessethomas3979 I think "kind" refers to species. Kids would not be exact copies of parents. God probably made Adam and Eve with different amounts of melanin and different features would be dominant in child's genes and eventually form races.
@jessethomas3979 Man-kind for instance, people always make people. Dogs always birth dogs. There are big dogs, little dogs, fuzzy dogs, fluffy dogs but you never have a dog birth a badger or bear. Answers in genesis has a fair breakdown of the taxonomy.
Even if it’s fewer questions, these videos are super helpful and have helped me to truly think biblically about questions even if I don’t automatically know a Bible verse that I think applies. Thank you for making these videos, and thank you for your ministry pastor Mike!
Hahaha, I love it. The amount of poisoning the well and side-stepping you need to do in order to dismiss this stuff is hilarious. Keep playing pretend Mike, I'm sure that reality will change if you try hard enough.
10 questions at a time with me is fine if that's better for you. Especially if you can do it more often but even if you can't. These videos help a loooot of people so I think whatever you can do is great. Thank you for your ministry. God has blessed me greatly through it
THANK YOU for responding to this video. I had this pop up for me a few weeks ago and I found it troubling. Only watched enough to determine it wasn't satire. I look forward to watching your response.
10 questions is still awesome. If it helps your load/arrangement of things, great. Praise Jesus and thank you Mike and team for your work. Go well Nerd!

Malachi, 3: 16 (ESV), I do not understand this one, but Isaiah 40: 8 (ESV) may explain it better. This god is surely evil (in my eyes), because god punished all future generations, just because of Eves' mistake... Genesis 3: 16 (ESV). To the woman, he said, "I will surely multiply your pain in childbearing; in pain, you shall bring forth children. Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you." All open-minded Christians should listen to Proverbs 18:17. KJV. "He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbor cometh and searcheth him." In other words, the one who stated the case seems right until the other part cross examine the case. And of course Isiah 45: 7 (ESV). 7 I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things. Or Isaiah 45: 7 (KJV). "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." Here is the proof that the god of Christians is evil because it says clearly that god created evil. A loving god would never create evil. I also want to write this. My intention is not to upset you or offend you in any way. I just want you to think critically about your own religion and faith. Christianity has such a bloody history and past. The witch hunting, the Crusaders, the persecutions of the jews, the threath of hell, the wars caused by your "loving god" in the past (and your "holy" book) and so on. I am not saying that all Christians are OK with the past and what Christians have done in the past. There are some loving Christians who truly care about others and their fellow humans and I respect these loving Cristians. I do not respect the other ignorant Christians who judge others to hell just because we do not believe in their beliefs. That is extremely rude to be that hateful and judgemental, and that people judge others to hell. Everyone has the right to believe in what we choose to believe in. Do not judge other to hell please. I am just saying that it is so clear that god is the evil one in the bible, not Satan. Isaiah 45: 7 (KJV). "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." The god of the bible is talking about itself here, not Satan. I hope that you understand my reasoning and do not feel offended. I just wanted to write this because I have the right to post this. I am thinking of FREE SPEECH. Please, do not report my comment either, because we live in a world with free speech and free reliosity. Anyway, it is up to you what you want to do. Dismiss or respond. But in my eyes a sincere and honest Christian would respond my comment. An ignorant Christian would just dismiss and ignore my comment. And maybe even report it?... My Regards. ♾️☮️
Thank you for telling your audience what rigorous ‘scholarship’ should be approached. I can’t hardly make it through ‘scholarly’ Presentation by Ehrman, Tabor, etc because their bias is incredibly clear as well as the goal of the information presented. They actually strengthen my faith!
Judges 21:25, seems to me to be the explanation of the book; they were not ruled by God or a king. Everyone did what was right in their OWN eyes, and Judges is the testament to that.
Yikes to "Satan's Guide to the Bible". Scary this is out there as it could mislead so many. Thank you for your time and hard work answering all these questions, Pastor Mike!
This is late, over a week late. 😅 but honestly I had to inwardly laugh as you said “this is freaking me out, sorry for the delay” because one of the reasons that I personally love and appreciate your specific ministry in these videos is that you are often live, and in that, you are raw, unedited, human, humble, and in the moment!! There are other “bible” based Christian teachers out there that I also have watched but they are committed to a more high def and highly edited, and highly polished video that is released. And I really really appreciate the rawness, the sincerity, the in the moment of your videos. For me, it correlates to living life as a Christian, Where often we are thrown darts and curve balls that take time to process, and have glitches, need a sec to process before responding …. So thank you!!!
I’d be okay with you answering 2 or 3 questions at a time if you feel more time is needed to give an answers you feel cover the subjects. I appreciate your videos and find them full of valuable insights that I can put to use in my walk with Christ.
Referring to tongues and what you're saying about emotive prayer and the Holy Spirit interceding immediately made me think of the woman who was barren crying in front of the temple and praying under her breath an onlooker thought she was drunk too! Amazing in these stories how we can see the difference of belief vs. unbelief
Man, the list of stuff i was told to be true as a kid in church that was flatly not true but just made to "strengthen" my belief is long. AND the amount of stuff i was NEVER told is even longer. The video is right, there are lots of things churches mislead people on, or omit from teaching, because they know it might weaken someone's belief. Its so funny Mike keeps talking about this being a propaganda piece and knocks it off the gate for not being objective, when that is what Mike and churches do ALL the time. If the church is withholding information (or lying) to people that is not a good thing, your beliefs should be able to withstand scrutiny. Iv legit heard Christians say things like "well we will tell them about that when they are ready" which really just means "once they are so deeply ingrained that our argument will be enough to sate them. This why its so frustrating to talk to Christians sometimes, especially ones that spend all their time listening to apologists like Mike, cause they dont walk into conversations actually knowing what the topic is about, they just know what the CHRISTIAN stance to the topic is. So you have to not only counter their bad apologetics, but also teach them about the actual issue in the first place. Education should not be your enemy if you actually care about truth.
Hey Mike, a 10 question format is how my wife and I already view your episodes. We watch 10 questions on Sunday morning before heading off to our local assembly of believers. Thanks for what you do!
The presentation of the other video presents it's claims as objective truths instead of describing the actual nuance of the topics. Mike's video at least acknowledges his own bias, but then shows the nuance and provides supporting evidence. Also I just got to this part and thought it might be relevant 17:25
@@mankosan6737 Not quite. I’ll agree that Satan’s guide didn’t say the scripture that would require him to sacrifice his daughter, but it’s Leviticus 27: 28-29. The scripture that Mike mentions doesn’t apply to this specific situation. According to the Bible God would require this specific child sacrifice to occur.
@@Jesse622 you say according to the Bible, deny another part of the bible and don't provide a verse that supports what you're saying. Ignoring evidence and calling something propaganda is a pretty cheap cop out in the face of genuinely reasonable and honest reading of the text
So I’m about half way through and as usual, your work and the spirit in which you do it is admirable. As for the things we aren’t clear on this is what I think… I love knowing and understanding and being able to answer nefarious claims of the satanic spirit but the most important thing above all else is to know the Father ourselves. Until I walked with the Holy Spirit in me, my faith was tested and shaken constantly, but once I received a new spirit and grew with the Holy Spirit as my guide, it seems their claims CAN’T shake me… because I KNOW Him and I know He knows me. If there is a detail that isn’t clear, that’s ok. ❤
Thank you Mike! To add to your argument on no.1 Jeremiah 32:35 They built high places for baal in the valley of Ben hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to molech, though I never commanded nor did it enter my mind that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin. It breaks my heart for the Lord to have to defend Himself. But there you go
For those who seek to delve deeper into the question asked about Adam being formed from the earth; pick up a copy of St. Ephrem’s (a syriac Church Father) Hymns On Paradise. In the back of the back of the book is his commentary on Genesis in which he describes this process. According to him, Paradise was set upon a mountain (hence Adam being put in the Garden by God after being formed). Adam’s body was formed from a gradual course of irrigation by the waters below the mountain which nourished it and lead up to the top, which then led back down to the base allowing the earth (ground) as a whole to be self sustaining. This process is describe as a type of evolutionary process, but not by Darwinian standards. Instead, it was a gradual process of the elements to form upward until the man Adam was completely formed. After this, God breathe into his nostrils “the breath of life”. Thank you Mike for your channel. It has blessed me beyond measure in my walk with Christ.
New atheist arguments rely on the ignorance or lack of discernment of those hearing the arguments. They enforce this state of mind through prejudicing the hearers by ridiculing theism in general, which is basically, rhetorically or emotionally coercing the listener into assuming theism is not true. (I think this is quite a good summary of how new atheism can be understood as different from other atheisms.)
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference:
0:00 - Intro
1. 0:18 {Satan’s Guide to The Bible?} There is a dangerous video gaining popularity, called "Satan's Guide to The Bible," that illustrates a pretend children's Sunday school class learning from Satan as their substitute teacher.
Yes
Mike has still never made a video addressing my question about why Jesus was arrested with a naked young man in a public park at 4 AM mark 14:51-52. He never addressed the secret gospel of Mark he didn’t address Morton Smith, nor the mar saba letter, or pseudo Clement. He just told me that I had a dirty mind for even asking the question very disappointing apologetics in my opinion.
@@Ian_622
Hi, your first question caught my attention.
Your framing of the question is already leading you astray.
Jesus WASN'T "caught with a naked young man"
He was arrested in the company of his disciples and many others.
Here's your answer:
In 51, one of the younger followers is wrapped only in a linen cloth - so not naked.
When the soldiers grab him, he runs off naked leaving his cloth - like any scared person would.
@@Ian_622Seeing that you don't even understand the gospel of Mark, why don't you handle that before the other texts.
Nice day
@@Sky-xd2nu telling me I don’t understand anything isn’t an apologetic.

Yeah, I was thinking this as Mike was saying: "and then what Satan says..." I thought that was pretty funny.
For real, it has the exact same tactics he’s been using since the Garden of Eden. Props to them for naming the video accurately though 😅
I do that because it bugs me when people do the opposite. Glad you appreciate it.

I'm so thankful for God putting you in my life, Pastor Mike

@aljmann Amen friend!!!
Me too! You have a wonderful gift. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Why don’t you thank evolution?
Mike, every video from you is such a blessing! Limiting to 10 questions is still loving and serving your community, even if it's still once a week. Thank you for serving God with your talents and time.
Make it 15...easy middle! 😉
You do you Mike, we support you either way!
I would gladly take more small streams spread out because each is so refreshing and grounding.
I hadn't seen that!! So true!😂😂😂

AGREED!
Yes! Same. But it definitely depends on the day for me lol. Most days 10 is more enticing to click on and listen all the way through. Occasionally I am down for a solid 3 hours.
I would prefer a longer 30 question format..

You are a treasure to the body of Christ.
Regarding the 20-Question Friday, I so appreciate how you take as long as is required to provide thoughtful answers. Whether it is 1 hour or 2 hours or whatever. A relaxed, thoughtful pace is noticed and appreciated!

Isn't it incredible how those who have rejected God are blind to their devotion and influence by satan even when it's punching them in the face? I pray for the deceived that they will accept Christ's atoning sacrifice and be changed.
It's painful just how many people have been stealth converted to gnostic Satanism
Amen.
They literally dress up as demons in parades for Satan and just think it’s , “funny”. It’s like bro, really? 😂😂😂
Isn't it incredible how religious people refuse to modify their beliefs even when reality is punching them in the face?
Thank you Jesus for making Mike into the teacher you made him into, I'm so thankful for the growth he's brought into my biblical understanding. I love to see the holy spirit work in him
The funny thing is they aren’t “bible secrets” if you just read the Bible.
Theists may claim to read a Bible, but they often forget or ignore the contradictions.
And atheists often forget or ignore the historical, regional, political, social, et al contexts, which resolve most (if not all) perceived contradictions.
@@BrandonCostlow like......
funny thing is, if you watch the video you'll know exactly what he means by "bible secrets"
He interpreted three guys standing atop a hill as a whole kingdom. That's not objetivity, that's bending the truth.

If you are being told you must have faith in order for something to be true, perhaps you are being scammed.
Whatever works best for you Pastor Mike. We're all just grateful that you are here. Be well, be happy, be blessed!
Skeptics using Satan as their PR Speaker has to be the saddest self-own on the internet in years.
“Checkmate, theists! Satan is on my side, even though he doesn’t really exist of course,”
Most satanists nowadays are just posers who hate their dad lol. You won't see them sacrificing infants on an altar and writing sigils in blood to channel demons. They just smoke weed and complain about the man, man!
You forgot to mention it is children who believe this mess.
Satan as the PR speaker uses satirical shock value as marketing for the video…Duh.

The full names/nature of the devil are on full display in the video:
Serpent: Twists the truth
Satan: Adversary or Accuser - makes false claims or partial true claims/accusations
Lucifer: Brings knowledge, and the pride that follows (“Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.” ~1 Corinthians 8:1.
The subtly, the twisting, and the prideful accusations are keenly apparent to a trained believer, and it's great how this is pointed out as propaganda.
Many blessings!

Also, I particulaly gave this video a thumbs up in hopes it will lead some of those who watched the "Satan's Guide" video to this video.
Not sure if this is useful or not
Something about myth, is that myth doesn't mean "fictional tale" myth comes from mythos which means "story" or tale it also means "word"
myth absolutely means fictional
Yeah Mythos vs Logos are different. I just saw that somewhere...
A bible nerd is the best type of nerd. Thank you so much for your ministry.
I’m fine with 10 and 10. Whatever works best for you. Do it unto the lord and it’s all good, brother. Thank you and love you!
the irony of using *SATAN* to get the children to question God was clearly lost on the creators of the video
@evilpigeonsify,
I haven't heard of that series until today and just the title alone says it all!
Hi!
Sorry, I don't understand - what was ironic about it?
HTH!
Exactly. I don’t understand how these people could be so blind.
It's very obviusly intentional irony. So not lost on the creators at all. Atheists don't believe satan exists at all. They could've used another fictional character, like like the Easter Rabbit, but that wouldn't be a very good opposing figure to Jesus at all, now would it?
Love the T-shirt 😆 I would get it for my husband, but I promised him Wookiee crocks for his birthday already.
It’s almost like satans guide to the Bible was written by satan himself. God is Good and Jesus is Lord!
10 works, too!!
I appreciate all your study and prayerful interpretations you bring to us, Pastor Mike 🙏
I like the idea of 10 ten questions.
If you did 10 every week that would be awesome, but I still enjoy the 20. It is a blessing to be able to spend a couple hours on a Friday night looking into God's word and contemplating it's application for our modern world. However, you need to do whatever God is leading you to do. 🙏
Ah yes "did God really say?" Satan is still playing the same game.
the fact most people in this comment section don't understand a parody makes me laugh.
@@thedude0000 Parodies have some truth in it.
@@redsoup2584 Satan's Guide to the Bible is full of truth...lots and lots of truth.

It’s things like that satan video that should cause the church to set higher standards of qualifications for pastors
@MikeWinger
I love the 10 question idea!! I believe that you would be doing this for better efficiency thus more beneficial content for the CHURCH!! I look forward to seeing your adjustments. As always, thanks for your content,I appreciate your hard work and countless hours dedicated to this CHURCH!!!!
Much love Mike!
"I am Mike you are the questions"
Brother Pasquale
I’m so glad you are talking about this ! I just came across it and wanted a response from someone that knew the Word . Thanks Mike !
For a while now, I was thinking you could less questions so you wouldn't have to be rushing through the last ones, so I am all for the 10 questions
Praying for your ministry Pastor Mike❤
@ChristinewithaC,
Well said!
God bless you and keep you always sis! 🙂
@@DaysOfNoah17_15 Thank you! 😊 God bless you as well!
@jessethomas3979
Man-kind for instance, people always make people.
God has blessed me greatly through it
This sounds like an impressively accurate depiction of Satan. Bravo to the person who made that video for playing the part of the devil so well 😂

44. Judges 21: 10-11 (ESV)
Your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you."
All open-minded Christians should listen to Proverbs 18:17. KJV.
"He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbor cometh and searcheth him."
In other words, the one who stated the case seems right until the other part cross examine the case.
And of course Isiah 45: 7 (ESV).
7 I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the LORD, who does all these things.
Or Isaiah 45: 7 (KJV).
"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
Here is the proof that the god of Christians is evil because it says clearly that god created evil.
"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
The god of the bible is talking about itself here, not Satan.
I hope more Christians continue to shine light on these things
Judges 21:25, seems to me to be the explanation of the book; they were not ruled by God or a king. Everyone did what was right in their OWN eyes, and Judges is the testament to that.
Yep it bookends the book with that phrase. God was supposed to be their king, but they rejected him and we see the result.
You helped me in understanding the word of God better..very based
Amazing Video!!! God bless you Mike!
Yikes to "Satan's Guide to the Bible". Scary this is out there as it could mislead so many. Thank you for your time and hard work answering all these questions, Pastor Mike!
Any way you choose to format the Q and A will be a blessing. You are such a wonderful teacher. Thank you, Mike!
FINISHED YOUR MARK SERIES AND LOOKING FORWARD TO THE QUESTION SERIES.
are there any other series that you have done?
This has been so helpful, may God bless your ministry ❤!
Love that Mike is complaining it’s propaganda, but fails to realize his argument could also be classified as propaganda.
Because! 🤡🤡
@@mankosan6737 …I did say the verse. It’s Leviticus 27: 28-29.
I'd love if we could get 20 Questions AND a weekly video, but I understand that can't happen. I enjoy the long videos.
Thank you Mike! To add to your argument on no.1 Jeremiah 32:35
They built high places for baal in the valley of Ben hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to molech, though I never commanded nor did it enter my mind that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin. It breaks my heart for the Lord to have to defend Himself. But there you go
Thank you for your hard work! I've learned much
For those who seek to delve deeper into the question asked about Adam being formed from the earth; pick up a copy of St.
