Thanks for the overview. I'm waiting until the cavalry come out before I dive in as I want to do a small Estalian army in Lustria or The Southlands for WHFB 6th edition, and these will be perfect (using the Empire army list).
Also, the leftover bits will likely make their way into my 'proper' Empire army that uses Warlord figures for most of the Infantry.

Sounds like a lot of fun! There is an Estallia list on the Warhammer Armies Project website which may be worth a look for background and force ideas if you were so inclined. I'm really keen to see what the WA conquistador cavalry look like too.

@@evilstu3177 thanks I've had a look. Good reference. I'm quite excited for the cavalry though I want ALL the bits they've shown even though I imagine a fair whack of them will not make it to the sprues (mainly because what they showed last year would have been sufficient to make both knightly orders and pistoliers).

I needed some more pikemen to go with some extra musketeers I had (Warlord Games) to achieve the proper ratio. The skinny legs in tights didn't fit the look, but the Wargames Atlantic arms with pikes fit perfectly with some unarmed WG bodies I had - except that the pikes were much shorter.
And when I needed a couple of extra bodies, I wrapped tissue paper around the Conquistadors' thighs and saturated it in super glue. The Wargames Atlantic figures were a wee bit taller, but certainly close enough. They won't win any beauty contests, but they didn't look too out of place in the ranks either.

Nice tip! Thanks for sharing. I have had, what we could politely term 'linited success' drilling out the hands on the spear ams and replacing with a metal pike to give a more appropriate length - doubtless a more able hobbyist would be able to make it work ;-) Cheers!

@@evilstu3177 - Thank you for your response. I never even considered drilling, as I don't have much in the way of precision tools, nor do I have easy access to individual pikes. I'll give it some thought though. Thanks.
Anyway, the nice thing about Wargames Atlantic is the sprues I've seen come with so many options that there will be enough parts left over to use elsewhere. I think the Conquistadores might also be supplying a future ECW/TYW "forlorn hope" with some bad-ass meelee weapons to supplement the firelocks.
And who knows, I might even put together some Conquistadores someday.

glad to see they work so well with perrys. I was kinda worried they'd be too chunky. Hopefully I'll get my boxes some day :P
