- Season 05, Episode 42: welcome to another opening day, squad - this time from the beautiful Deer Valley resort! this was Deer Valley's first ever thanksgiving weekend opening day, so I was stoked to be apart of another historic weekend in the recent years for DV. the crew at deer valley hooked us up with a season pass at Deer Valley for the 2024/25 season which is just absolutely mind boggling, so I am honored to represent such an awesome mountain and have it be an integral part of our ski season for another year in a row!

I've skied Deer Valley a lot and love it. In my opinion one of the best things about the resort are the people who work there. Everyone is super nice and that makes for a great vibe on the mountain.

You're the exact reason we all love Lucas' channel. Whenever there's hate about him "not being a real skiier" or what not, I always say it's not a ski channel, but a ski culture channel. Getting people excited for skiing and riding. All of it is within the realms of being achievable to the common person.

I come to Deer valley every year and it is my favorite thing in the whole world, and skiing came to me so naturally. Last year was my third year and I skied mostly blacks. I love watching u ski

Love Deer Valley, very comfortable for a 80 year old skier, trails are great, host are great, food is spectacular and remember it's not The Mens Room, it's "The Gentlemen's Lounge".

Great video as always Lucas! For a relatively new and non-expert skier, I really love DV. I’m working my way up terrain difficulty and I’m still really only comfortable on the black runs out west, DV has a lot of good beginner expert terrain, good groomers, etc. I really like the resort and I’m excited to see how the expansion goes next year. However, I can see how it would lack some of the expert terrain you can find in the little cottonwoods.
yeah DV has a lot of great terrain. it really has everything you need other than like suuuuuper duper gnarly stuff, but you dont always need that or are in the mood for it tbh

I love to food at DV. Comparatively to other resorts, it’s actually reasonably priced for the quality. We need a cake review! Or at least a food review.

Another great opening day, I'm jealous. Not surprising you were making some speed on the Whitewalkers, with a total of 38% rocker(19tip/18tail) you only have 46'' of ski contacting hardpack snow, that will get you hauling.

Went to alta last weekend with the kids after watching your snowbird video, and the only thing i regret is that i didnt ski early season last year! So much intermediate terrain was open compared to others! Deer valley i plan to use all my days this year, will all the new terrain

Random question, which parking lot do you go to at DV haven’t been over there before but with getting the IKON I was looking to make a trip in January.
theres really only 1 parking lot at DV at the base of snow park lodge. just extends back quite a ways

If you have a season pass, you could have gone on Friday because they let the season pass holders go a day earlier.

cuz in europe you can get a sesons pass for all in lets say Austria or Italy or France
What's the deal with Dear Valley not allowing Snowboarding... I been skiing in Utah the past 4 or 5 seasons and always took a day or two to ski at Deer Valley but this year my son is joining me and since he snowboards we will not be able to go there or Alta another of my favorite spots... Not sure why they are so uptight about snowboarding.... many families have a snowboarder and obviously they will be going there. I think is time to loosen-up the rules.

deer valley, alta and mad river are the three resorts that dont allow snowboarders. dont really have a reason but thats just the way it is and honestly dont ever see it really changing but who knows.
