I love salty Mark. Knockleball!!!! He's right about Ray being useless, though. To have an even matchup, they should bring a 4th who'se handicap can match with the rest, I think they would have more fun that way. Don't get me wrong, I love Raymundo's thick skin, witty comebacks and no sock no shoes shots, but I feel like he can't play from the back back tees.
Is it just me, or does the entire behavior on this trip seem much less, er, ah, cordial than usual? It seemed to have started with the 3-Putt abuse that Dan absorbed, and now he seems overly determined to pay back Parfield with oppressive interest charges.
Jeremy Stalley Don’t know if I’d go as far as to call Mark a spoiled brat. He was justified at being peeved at TM since all they had to do was look at his review work to see that he’s unbiased. But did he beat that dead horse until it was good and tender enough for the BBQ? Perhaps, but it was good for a laugh. As for his mood on the trips, it takes an awful lot to start a morale deterioration. He’s lost matches before, so I think it was just extra galling that Grand Dad was giving it back to him in spades after all the abuse he shoveled out earlier.
Dan could banter way more than that, I know I would !

I think Mark especially is a little harsh on Ray, Not everyone is as good as Mark, maybe he should add a 6th “journey” player and use some of his talents to help improve Rays game. Also if Ray is playing with a handicap then the rest of you should be playing with yours, 1 of the 3 at least must be a plus player

Not really but he gets upset with his play you can see it in this video. We are in great hotels in the warm on great courses.
Of course you can disagree Mark, that is the point. You were both off form. We know Rory can be capable ( as you state in an earlier video) as well of knowing your much more normal standard. Those are facts too Mark👍😏. Still love the videos or I would not keep watching all the time, that is obvious surely.

Beautiful course. Give Rory a break, he sprays it about abit but gets some real grief. Hits a pretty decent drive, gets grief, marks hits a worse shot and nothing. Comes across abit of a di*k 👍
No Mark, not at all. Perhaps you should watch all your videos back. I agree with you on so much, but not this. You maybe tired, so may Ray. I know about banter, brought up with it. However, watch your own video back, try and reflect honestly, and tell me, that as pro's, the expectation for your shots, versus Ray's, ON OCCASION , not all the time! As I say, love most of your points, but have a brain and can disagree with you. Sad world if we all have to agree all the time. Sadder world if you genuinely think you are right all of the time. Just to make this a little clearer. I make a bogey on a 460 yard par 4 after starting with 3 pars.
Ray picks up on 1, not in 2and is not in 3 then makes a double on 4 after the day before not featuring much at all. You think that is good for a 7 shooter?

Mark Crossfield Ray not pulling his weight, but carrying all your negativity doesn’t make him play better. as a great coach, you know if something doesn’t work, you change approach.
btw, unification of handicap systems will cause a major shock between UK and USA. I’ve gone up to 9.7
from 5 with a bunch of rounds in 80’s (most low 80’s) this Spring. When did Raymundo last shoot in low 80’s? Don’t think since i’ve been watching last couple of years.
There's been videos over the years explaining why Ray is Ray and why Ray is not improving.
And Ray's handicap in North America would be around 15... from the Champs' tees... on UA-cam. I would take that any day.

Ray is literally terrible
So just to be clear, should professional golfer miss the green by 25 yards from 185, regardless of pars on previous holes? I would expect my professional to be better than that. I played off 3 or better from 1973 until an injury 8 years ago, so would like to think I understand golf. I will be honest, can't see how Rory is off 7, from watching the videos. Potential absolutely, but 7 means he should be around 7 over on a regular basis. He clearly is not. There can be all sorts of factors as to why. According to the videos I have watched over the last year or so, he has suffered a major loss of form if he is a genuine 7 handicap. I also understand that a handicap is given by the course you are a member. So if you were at a wide open, large green, shorter course, this would not be the same as 7 at Carnoustie. I never said Rory was a 7 handicap. However, for most, professional is thought to go around in level par and shots to be in line with that. Form permitting obviously . Just trying to understand what you are saying about both your play and Rory's. Of all the videos I have watched of you, your general play is better than this particular video. Having played the Sultan on 5 occasions, I know the course and its challenges. We played from the white tees and even with my shoulder injury, managed to cobble it round in 7 over off 3, in May a few years ago. Learnt straight was really good and adjusted accordingly. Rory seems to have been struggling for a while to play to 7. Perhaps some instruction needed?

Instruction to a player who does NOT practice and has no real desire to improve. You can have that student bruh. 👍👍 I do t want them. Me and Ray talk about this all the time.
Your ideas around hcap we completely completely wrong. To think they play off 7 all the time is NOT what all 7 shooters do.
He can shoot 9 100 scores then one 4 over par and he will still be off seven.

Mark Crossfield the number of people that think if you’re off 7 then you should shoot no worse than 10 or 11 over all the time just blows my mind. Just no concept of how handicaps work.
Rory also said he got a big cut a while back. If he gets cut a full shot, then only plays 5 comps all year he’s still off the same hcp despite potentially being crap for a year.
Also, on the courses you’re playing on tours he’s probably 4 or 5 shots worse off as the SSS is bound to be way higher. That’s a tight, tree lined, 7000 yard course with water all over the place and huge slopey greens. Not your average members track.
People are idiots.
So you can shoot more than double your ‘3’ handicap and that’s ok, using that logic Rory can shoot 14 over and be ok? Also, if you look at the bottom end of a European Tour (or any pro tour) leaderboard there will be pros who have had absolute shockers and shot well over par - there are a few regular poor shooters on tour who seem to shoot high 70s and 80s a lot - would you say they aren’t real pros?
But, all of this misses the point that Rory doesn’t have to shoot in the 70s every time he tees it up, especially on the courses they play and most of the from the tips. If they were playing from the yellows it would be, I imagine, a very different story for all of them!
