The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and in 2017 made Dimash a mega-star overnight. That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home. The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door. The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to UA-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears. The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

Most of his music is not familiar to the American music world, however 2 songs are on the Billboard Hot Hits, Be With Me and Fly Away. The song comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera 'Starmania' 1978, well known in French-speaking countries) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing and in 2017 made Dimash a mega-star overnight.
That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day, bodyguards stood in front of his door.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to UA-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. won).

Dimash has been in formal music education and training since age 5 when it was discovered he had perfect pitch. He is continuing that today. He trains 3 hrs daily with a trainer if possible. If not he trains on his own with his piano. He has multiple degrees in music and is working on his PHD. He sings 7 octaves in 15 languages and plays 8 instruments. In 2019 he was on a sold out world tour and played to 19,000 in NY. Fans came from 68 countries to see him. No one else would get that. His first album went platinum in 37 SECONDS! Triple platinum in under an hr. However you could not hope to meet a more kind, loving, respectful and grateful man. He refers to his fans as his Dears. This performance was 4 years ago, he now has a range of over 7 octaves and he has improved greatly, as if he wasn’t already the perfect vocalist in this performance! His lower registers are to die for! He sings lots of songs in English, in fact he sings songs in 13 languages. He also sings in all genres, perfect in all! Rock, Pop, Folk, Opera, Rap etc As you have said, he’s a multi-instrumentalist, his playing is every bit as good as his voice! He’s an amazing composer/arranger, having received a perfect score in his composition Masters degree. He’s currently coming to the end of studying for his Doctorate in Musicology. Both of his parents are famous singers in Kazakhstan, his mother sings Opera and his Dad sings Pop and he’s also a renowned music producer in Eurasia. Dimash sings like both of them, but better, obviously! He’s been classically trained since the age of 5, when he was found to have perfect pitch and still has 3 hour voice training every day.

Olimpico also has gorgeous low tones. The entire piano pretty much. I like the version from Igor Krutoy's channel best. Igor wrote the music for Dimash to sing it.

I have been around music too, from Pavarotti to Led Zeppelin and everything in between. Dimash is the most incredible vocalist, not just because of his 7 octave range, the emotion he portrays. He sings everything from opera to rock and rap, sings in 15 languages, so if you continue with this journey you will most likely be surprised each time. Most of his music is not familiar to the American music world, however 2 songs are on the Billboard Hot Hits, Be With Me and Fly Away. This is a journey definitely worth taking, with fans in over 130 countries worldwide, he is more known than you might think ❤️
