No you are not being dramatic. You are absolutely right. At the end it all ends up in the landfill and really bad for our environment. I say why spend money you don’t have and buy or receive gifts that people may not like. How about just celebrate Christmas with great food and focus on visiting with friends and family. NO GIFTS 🙏
You nailed it, we are needing to clean out my teen son's room, where the wood creations ended up being 16" x 16" roughly creations. Now we have a 2 years of big creations that we need to declutter.
Great video😊thank you for thinking of people with ADHD, I personally love grocery shopping but keeping up with basic adult stuff in general can get really overwhelming and cooking is the point where I opt out and just do the bare necessities sometimes😂also thanks for the closed captions, it's easier for me to process the information and also English is not my first language so I'm always so happy when creators go the extra mile (the Minimal Mom does it too).
Lol. I'm so hard to shop for. Minimalist, ever changing interests, and very picky. My mom started giving my cash by age 18. Then i send her a pic of whatever i bought for my gift. Win win!! Only rule is it has to be something i really want that especially for me!
My one suggestion is to find out if the person has food allergies. I’m allergic to all nuts so can’t have chocolate (it’s all made in factories where nuts are processed). Great video 😊
YES! I have 2 of those STEAM/STEM crafts in my basement right now. Don't even get me started on the giant balsa wood marble run kit that showed up at my door unasked for!! That being said, we love Universal Yums (snacks from around the world) and use it as a fun family night activity. Last year I gave a coffee subscription to 2 people: one loved it, one was 'eh'. I also gave a box with lots of different flavors of jerky to several of the men in my life. My husband and I agreed they weren't fabulous so we won't give it again. I put David's Tea on my wish list this year because you make them sound so yummy!!
@@MinimalistHome The snacks that are gross end up being the most memorable and fun. My teens will never forget trying salted black licorice from Scandinavia. LOL!!
I got cylindrical tins for $1.50 a peice and am filling them with cookies and biscotti. Homemade, delicious, personal, economical, easy to wrap and requires minimal shopping! It is also.a gift that won't clutter their house.
I got kiwico boxes for my kids. I really wanted to keep the projects for them to play with, but I just ended up with half together projects strewn everywhere. Definitely a gift of clutter.
I bought my son a subscription to foods from around the world which was a massive hit. I've also bought science and art kit subscriptions before that were a bit meh and some didn't get used (need to declutter those 🤔). My daughter is one of those weird people who doesn't really like chocolate. I have to question if she is even my daughter 🤣 I am a chocoholic! I would also LOVE a tea subscription for Christmas... Or anytime!!
I just wanted to ask an off topic question your loving room set is beautiful; would you mind sharing the name of the brand with me we are currently in need of practical comfortable seating. In every video, I have been binging to get fought up.. Stumble through UA-cam and thank goodness I landed here. I was a dumping ground for inherited items furniture and belongings because I am sentimental, and feel obligated to my family and friends, and the memories of others.. To the point where I thought how many people (generations) need to die so I don't hurt feelings and can feel comfortable loving in my own home. 💔 It's a rock and a hard place and your easing this transition for me. I can loose the clutter and invest in my relationships with people while they are still here.. Even if my moms a bit mad! (I am 43 this is my home for context)
I think you need to be very, very sure of the recipient’s tastes and preferences if you’re going to buy a sub box! I think your suggestion of consumables is definitely the way to go. I have really sensitive skin so it’s one thing to receive a beauty gift I won’t use…it’s another to KEEP on receiving unsuitable products for a whole blinking year! 😂
About chocolate... I do not eat any sweets, no candy and nooo chocolate, nothing like that. Every year at either my birthday or at Christmas there is someone giving me... Chocolate! It´s not a bad gift and I could give it away but... If it was from some random person, a secret Santa at a workplace, a nice gesture form someone I barely know etc I would not care but when it´s people in our own family either on mine or my partner since 25 years side. They know me!!! and when I get chocolate from any of them it actually makes me sad, disappointed and neglected. I am not un-grateful but why? They know I don´t want that. Chocolate as a gift to me can serve as an example of what to not give people as gifts. A gift should be thoughtful in some way, otherwise it´s just a waste of space, money, efford aso.
I'm sure the folks who are buying for you will know your specific diet choices, sensitivities and allergies - and if they don't - they shouldn't be buying for you!
Haha!! "The gift of stress" 🤣 I love how blunt and truthful you are.
Haha, thanks Grace!

That's an idea too! Thanks

Totally Jane!! It's annoying how these things piled up and I just kept buying 🤦♀️
Like the stars in your backdrop. Those stars and your self light things up. And pick me up. Thank you.
Oh thanks so much Jo!! How sweet!

I just found you tonight and I love you. Your videos make me so happy 🥰
I’m so happy! Thank you!

Also edible arrangements!! Yummy.

My name is Cathy and I would love to receive your teas. I love tea.❤
Tea is SO good!! Check out the link in the description if you want to buy some yummy Davidsteas!

Hey there! We got it at La-z-boy.
What do you use for rosacea? My mom wants a skin care set for Christmas but she has rosacea
Check out the Doctorly channel. They have a good video on rosacea. Everyone is different though, so she should know her triggers
Wonder if David’s tea is available in USA? We also got a cooler of fresh frozen deer meat a couple of years ago from my hunting brother in law. Lol.
Yes, David's tea is available in both US and Canada. Nice gift from the BIL!
I got fruit of the month. I found that we had fruit and the box had too much and we didn’t need it
Yes, I can imagine there was some waste.
Shopping is really hard for me at Christmas time. Lol I’d love a free microphone
hahaha!

Definitely!

Yes!! They should know what you like, I agree!
Those of us who are vegan won’t want to eat that chocolate. It needs to be dark chocolate. And many fillings are dairy based.
