Ted is basically Barney, but with much self denial.

You right about self denial, but ted isn't even close to Barney level

Eh outside of these occasional episodes not really.
Don’t get me wrong, he does not deal with relationships properly but never really outright shitty stuff.

@@raulbetancourt5795 Barney literally sold a woman for a car. Ted is not that good of a person but Barney is a really bad person when you think about it

I know it’s a show but I really hate the whole victim blaming thing where women can never do anything wrong so the man must be at fault for her behavior. Whether you are a man or a woman you can screw up & behave poorly.

While you're not wrong, I do think it's important to note that "people can be pushed to a point of aggressive behaviour as a result of someone else's actions first" isn't victim blaming.
there's a term called "reactive abuse" which points out that abusers can push victims to the point of the victim snapping and losing their cool, and it is recognized that this isn't the victim's fault when they've been emotionally, mentally and physically abused for so long that they can't do anything beyond reacting.
So yes, all people regardless of gender are capable of being terrible, hurtful and abusive. AND these behaviours can have context which would show who is truly the victim in a relationship. It is a common tactic of emotional abuse that the abuser pushes and pushes and pushes to get their victim riled up, so that when the victim snaps, the abuser can then turn around and shame them for their poor behaviour and/or justify escalating the abuse
(eg, abuser calls the victim stupid, ugly, fat, worthless; degrades the victim over and over again
victim snaps and yells at the abuser in retaliation
abuser slaps the victim for yelling and uses this as evidence later that the victim cant be trusted to be in control of their emotions to enforce strict rules about the victim's whereabouts and phone privacy)
